Pssst.......

Check it out...HERE

sending you sunshine

Woo Hoo it is Thursday!!! You know what that means...it's my day over on 365 Cards {and tomorrow is friday}!!

Today's challenge is:

"Leaf" it up to me!

Stamp it, draw it, cut it out, use an image or the real thing, but there must be at least one leaf on your card.

Surprisingly, this was a difficult challenge...nothing was hitting me, kwim? I have single stamp images of a leaf {or two} but nothing too exciting. Then I remembered this A Muse tree that I have...I was going to be ultra-insane and paper piece the leaves but those puppies are way tooo small. So I colored them in with copic yg03/yellow green. I knew I wanted to add buttons and played around a smidge then finally decided on my crochet trim AND foof-a-la buttons...nice little shabby chic touch, whaddy think?

I hope that you'll join me in today's challenge...come on...join in on the fun!!!

have a Splendiferous day!

Here is my take on CP12. Surprisingly, this card took forever to create...All the stamped images that I wanted to use were too big so I went with the American Craft Flowers. I've been diggin' Madras Plaid these days...so fun and happy!

I met up with Elaine of A Place for Ink yesterday at our local Ben Franklin Craft Store. We spent the entire time chatting and seriously cracking up...like tears rolling down our faces...it was FABulous!

Elaine...thanks sista...that was F*U*N!

you are a hoot!

I had fun with CPS113 ...This week they are sponsored by CHF, who doesn't love Cornish Heritage Farms? I combined images by Kim Hughes and Cosmo Cricket's Happy Camper line. The sweet owl is on pop dots...yup, she's got her sparkly blue eyeshadow and red hot sparkly pedicure!!

Well, I survived my very first lesson in
Aikido last night...It is something that 'd' and I are taking together...oy vey, so much to learn and remember! It is something that I've been wanting to learn, self-defense...

Yesterday I unveiled some sneaky peeks for MacMae's Card Kits. Pam of 365 Cards is the hostess with the mostess over at MacMae's so the 365 Cards DT gets to have the opportunity to play with her most fabulous card kits...go check it out :)

Hope you're having a good week so far!!!

happy birthday ala starbucks & sfytt...

I've been really enjoying Jen's sketch challenges. I knew that I was going to use this week's sfytt with a starbucks card I picked up for a former co-worker.
Isn't this Starbucks card just a-dorable? I always love seeing what they have....they really should venture out to paper crafts...

This is my wild take on Jen's sketch...The gift card is nestled in the holder... I was going to try to do a coffee theme but decided to go with the cupcakes. I've been seriously hoarding those little Martha felt cupcakes...I oh-so-wanted to use a wide black grosgrain ribbon with polka dots but that would cover up too much of the starbucks gift card holder so I opt'd for the skinny mini...

I actually have 2 posts for today so make sure you check out my other one...it has little snippets of a sneak peek....

Sneaky Peeks....

Hmmm......what do you think these little snippets are for???? Go check out:

summertime...

Happy Sunday!!! You know what that means....365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!!! What a great sketch by Pam...I started with the "summer" panel and then picked my papers to coordinate. I tell you, I bought a huge MME {My Minds Eye} kit via Peachy Cheap when I first found out about them and it has been absolutely fabulous! I wanted to add some texture to the card so I sewed around the "summer" panel...who doesn't love madras plaid? Isn't that what it is called? Madras plaid? Anywho's...that smidge of crochet trim is ala J's...can you believe it was another clearance special and get ready for it...$0.47/yard...what the heck?! I bought what was left...I don't even think I got a whole yard but hey, at least there was some left for me! The buttons were from my stash'ola. Check it out...I even glammed up the interior...I never do that but it seems to be the trend...those over achievers** that make me feel like I have to start doing it too..lol. Naaahhh...I didn't do it because of that...I did it because my 12 x 12 white cardstock is cheap'ola...it is flimsy so I added the interior panels to make it sturdier. That's actually a journal square panel on top of the swiss dots.

On Saturday my boy had a soccer game in the morning..sheesh, it was freezing...I woke up early to get a bunch of projects done...I'm almost completed with everything..I was able to get a ton done friday night too. I've been super crazy busy doing some design team projects along with some other surprises...more on that later :)
I hope to be back later with pics of RAK's along with some bloggy awards..

**over achievers, I chuckle that used that word...from the girl that wakes up at 3 a.m. to get through blogs and get projects done...not to mention consuming way too much coffee...like 8...Good Lord...okay, I'm really typing this up on Saturday night and it is almost 11 pm...oy...don't do the math on the number of hours I've been up...ouch. Okay, I'm logging out now :)

Saturday Finds!

Ah, it is good to be back passing along linkies and all their goodness!!!

Let me start with something that actually caught my by surprise on Friday...Miss Beth Perry left me a comment on yesterday's mayafras card to let me know about it...btw, Beth rocks....she's amazingly talented and the sista loves chandeliers...what more could you want in a bloggy friend? LOL Anywho's....check out my "woot woot!" .

Have you been to We Will Always Have Paris yet? Check out her recent Fav Five.....you have just got to check out Jenni B's art studio [here's the flickr link}...Good Lord...

This post
on We Will Always Have Paris really struck me. I started out as a scrapbooker but during my whole blogging adventure I have yet to create a scrapbook page...The other day on crop chocolate they had 2 making memories scrapbooks..the pre-designed kind...I know, I know...for you scrapbookers, you are probably cringing...but I thought that might be a good way to get started. I really want to start scrapbooking the kids' pics...

Design*Sponge
is a fab site that I always love...check out their spotlight on Sunset's Little Green Book.

Look at the Chez FiFi post on Daisy Pink Cupcake! Now those are chandeliers...wowza!

Gotta love decor8!!

These
might actually make cleaning fun....okay maybe not but they are fab looking...

The Small Object Steno Pad
had pics of some great lookin' ribbon storage...do you think I could pay my kids to do it for me like sorting my buttons? It is soooo pretty stored like that....mine are all jumbled in humungous ziplock bags by color...it is really a mess.

Here is some pure eye candy by
Desire to Inspire
...Cafe Cartolina....Cafe Cartolina again...

Who doesn't love a sale? Pam of 365 Cards has card kits...Mac Mae Card Kits. Any April kits that remain on May 1st will go on sale. On that day, she will officially release the May kit!! You can check back on April 27th for some more sneak peeks of the contents and samples...you don't want to miss the sneak peeks...really :)

Okay, I'll be back tomorrow with the 365 Cards Super Sunday Sketch...and some blog awards that have been passed to me along with some fab RAK's that I've received...gotta love happy mail!!

Pop Arturo

The other day when I was blurfing I came across a post on Decor8
that showcased German Porcelain. One of the pieces really inspired me...can you guess which one? Yup, the petite pale blue one smack in the middle...
I've been horrible and neglecting my Arturo's...I don't know if the photo does it justice...it really is quite a gorgeous pale blue. The butterfly is ala Pop Fashion by Pink Paislee...I colored it in with Copic Chinese Orange...love that color! Just a clean & simple card today!! I'll be back later with my linkies...I'm typing this up on Friday night...almost 11 p.m. and I'm kinda tired...been up since 3 a.m...

mayafras

Don't be shocked...I'm using Sassafras! This is for CPS112, which is a fabulous sketch. It shows off the fun & funky patterns of Happy Place/Over the Rainbow paper. I had to add my Maya Road owls...what a great team they make! Such the happy friday card!!!The rick rack is ala Martha...that stuff is ultra-crunchie...kwim? I typically buy the twill type of ric rac {hmmm...martha spells it rick rack...I've always typed it ric rac...}. Anyways, I just looked and it is 100% Nylon!

I'll be back tomorrow with a clean & simple design...no challenge...all amy :) I will also share some linkies...I tried to last week and boy-oh-boy those linkies were not cooperating with me...the format went all wonky and well, it just didn't look purdy enough to publish :)

Eco-Tin

Today's 365 Cards Challenge is "Recycled Elements". In honor of Earth Day we are to use as many recycled items as possible. I knew that I was going to start with this fabulous tin that was recycled to me by a co-worker {Hi KQ!}. It was filled with Green Tea mints from Trader Joes...What a great foundation to work with...I love the green and decided to bring that out by using some scraps that I've been stashing. I'll be honest, in the past I've given away my scraps...I typically don't use them. Well, I'm making the effort to use them now and this project is perfect since it is small in scale.

What better paper to use than Amy Butler's Lotus line? Seriously, that stuff couldn't be any more gorgeous...check out the "feet" on the tin...Back in the 90's I was into making jewelry...In true "Amy" form I bought a ton of stuff but the hobby didn't last very long....I toyed with the idea of getting rid of all my supplies but never did...good thing I didn't...I dug around my bin and found these recycled beads...we'd buy clearance beaded jewelry and cut them apart for their beads...the beads {aka feet} were from one such necklace.

I fussy cut the lotus bloom from one of the patterns....crinkled it up gently to give it a shabby look.

Here's the interior...I lined the tin with more Amy Butler goodness and added some petite gift tags...I decided against cutting up all the gorgeous May Arts ribbon and stringing them through the tags...I put it together more like a kit.

I popped in a couple Amy Butler wrapped nuggets..who doesn't love chocolate?

Here's the tin all ready to go to her new home...yup, I ended up recycling it back to my co-worker..lol. She was stunned to see that I dolled it up. She said that she didn't give the tin to me to have me give it back to her but I told her that it was my thank you and to keep on chowing those mints.....

The tin is all cozy in a glassine bag...I went ahead and put together a tag just to use on the exterior packaging. I talked to my co-worker and told her that the tags would be sweet to tuck into hubby's wallet with a message...or maybe inside a laptop...a briefcase....you name it.

hoppy day

Laura's sketch 24 is perfect with the Colorbok Friendly Forest goodies! This is going to one of my nieces who will be celebrating her 4th birthday in May. She has a sister that is also celebrating HER birthday in May too....they are a smidge over a year apart...I have 2 words for you....oy vey...

We had another gorgeous day in the Pacific Northwest yesterday....they say it is going to start raining today...oh well...we have to enjoy our sunny days when we have them!

Remember to check back tomorrow, Thursday. It is my day over on the 365 Cards blog...I have a nifty project to share with you..

hi

I picked up the oh-so-fun KI Memories Juicy Summer pack at Target...it was on clearance! You can't tell by the photo, but the citrus paper has thee most magnificent sheen to it, they call it their glitter paper. The pom poms are ala j's clearance...$0.97/yard...woot woot!!! Gotta love the cool & hip vinyl thickers...soo fun for the summer! The card sketch is from CardPatterns #11.

Talking about summer, it got up to a scorching 70+ degrees yesterday...totally unheard of in the PNW...My boy and I went for a long bike ride after we got home...I'm still lovin' my retro beach cruiser:

Do you like my "basket"? It is actually a sweet little purse that my friend pick up at a street fair...much too small for all the necessities that I carry...but perfect for my phone and water bottle.

sassy deer

This sassy'licious card is for Jen's SFYTT...I hadn't had a chance to ink up the sweet deer in The Greeting Farm's Forest Friends...so I knew I was going to team her up with my Sassafras papers. All the white portions of her are glittered up with Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds and I used Copic Frost Blue for a smidge of eyeshadow..LOL. The buttons are from my Foof-a-la bag...love those things!!

I hope that everyone had a magnificent weekend...why do the days just fly by at warp speed? Oh yes, perhaps it was because my daughter had her belated birthday slumber party on friday night...she invited 7 girls and most of the evening they spent playing Rock Band. I don't own a Wii, just borrowing it, but I can see what all the hoopla is with that Rock Band {do they have a disco version?}. ...it is fun, although it makes me realize how shot my hand-eye coordination is. Back in the 80's I'd spend my allowance at the arcade playing video games...you know..Pac-Man, frogger, centipede, donkey kong...those days are long gone :) Anywho's, back to the slumber party...my daughter had a ton of fun, and that's what it is all about...oh yeah, and it got her to clean her bedroom {bonus!}.

Here's to a happy Monday and a fabulous week!!!

Lady Bug...Lady Bug...

You all better put your sunglasses on for this one..LOL This is for 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday, Day 50! Renae of Two Scoops Rice Designs recently sent me this fun Lady Bug stamp and I knew that I wanted to team it up with my A Muse Seattle sentiment! I recently picked up 2 6x6 Sassy pads via I {heart} papers. Check out the link, they are on sale now, or at least now, saturday evening...lol. The flourish chipboard pieces were actually plain that I colored with Copic Shock Pink {that's the color I used on Miss Lady Bug along with Cadmium Yellow} and then I covered it with glue via my Martha glue pen and then glittered them up with Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds. The Lady Bug is paper pieced onto the pattern paper.

I hope you all had fun with Scor-it week on 365 Cards...I know that I did. It truly made me stretch my imagination and creativity...that my friends, is what it is all about...that and not hoarding...LOL. Cupcake'licious!

Today's 365 Cards Scor-it Challenge is an Accordion Card! The cardboard panels I used for the front & back are recycled {gotta love that!}...I used the Stampin' Up Top Note die and Basic Grey Cupcake papers for this project....gotta love the white felt thickers...The card is held together with white twill.

Take a peek at the inside:

Each "page" is 4 inches tall by 3 inches wide. I loved using the Mini Scor-it for the pages..easy smeasy. I finally got to use the sweet cupcake die I bought via Stampin' Up! The happy stamp is ala Impress...LOVE that store. I hope you all aren't getting sick of my thickers...lol.

Well, this is my last project for Scor-it week. I hope that you've enjoyed taking a look at my projects this week and that perhaps I've inspired you a smidge...I can't wait to see YOUR accordion card!!!

Friday's 5th Avenue Goodness

Happy Friday!!!

Today's 365 Cards
Scor-it Challenge is scoring a pattern. I was thinking of scoring a pattern on a Fabriano card but remembered this Making Memories 5th Avenue paper that I picked up at Target. I realize that you can't really see how the paper looks but I scored on the blue lines. It makes for a nice unexpected texture on that designer paper.

Here's a close up of the paper...hmmm...still can't really see it but it is there :)

Show us what you got....I'm certainly going to keep this challenge in mind to pep up some old designer paper!!

Wood you give me a big hug?

This is for the
CPS sketch 111 which I have combined with the Moxie Fab World Wood You? Challenge! I'd like to say this is my Eco-Green card...okay, so the paper is from the DCWV Green stack :) It has super adorable prints and is fab when you team it up with the darling chipboard {matchy matchy as Sparkle said to me once, that was you wasn't it? I think we were talking about all the fab MM storage stuff on Crop Chocolate}!!

So when I was looking for my inchies, I found my bag of foof-ala buttons, which I used on this card...no, I didn't find my inchies...I put them in a "really good place"...I just have to remember where that place is...LOL I backed a portion of my dymo sentiment with recycled cardboard so that it would stay nice and not stick to anything it wasn't suppose to :) The chipboard bear {OMGoodness I think he is the cutest ever} and the buttons are on my glue dot pop dots.

I'll be back tomorrow with another 365 Cards Scor-it Challenge!!!

to a deer friend...

Can you guess what today's 365 Cards Scor-it Challenge? It is a Pop Up card!!! This little dear of a card {lol} folds down to put in a envy and then pops back up when you take it out! The directions are super easy, I found them on the Scor-it website:

No more of me "winging it"...lol. Do the deers look a wee bit familiar? It's from
Colorbok's Friendly Forest line...when Ivy told me they were on Clearance I raced over there as soon as I could and loaded up with whatever they had left...Can you see that I have a sentiment stamped on the base? It is A Muse's "to a deer friend". The butterfly is ala a Marvy punch.

This has gone postal to a blogging friend that I just wanted to say "hang in there"...kwim? Who doesn't love happy mail?!!!

I hope that everyone made it through tax day! You all that do your own taxes are troopers, I have mine done...have for years...

Okay, head on over to 365 Cards and see Mr. Linky!!

I can see clearly now...

I have been behind on my sketch challenges this week...have been having too much with my mini Scor-it! This is for Card Patterns Sketch 10. I adore the look of acetate but it is a bugger to photog. I just got my new shipment of Thickers ala Peachy Cheap {double shipment! woot woot!!} I teamed it up with a smidge of Hambly goodness {it is folded in half so that I can write my message on the inside of it} and my vintage buttons.

Thanks for taking a peek...remember to come back tomorrow...it's my day over at 365 Cards...

blog candy alert

My blogging buddy Naomi is giving away blog candy...go check it out...she has a fabulous blog!!!

wild asparagus family

Today's 365 Cards Scor-it Challenge is a matchbook card! I used double-sided paper by Wild Asparagus. I've actually had it for a bit and thought this would be the perfect project for it. I'm a huge fan of paisley pattern...especially with the splashes of blue!

I cut the paper 4.25 inches by 8.5 inches. I scored it at 1 inch on one side and 3.5 inches on the other. I secured the 1 inch flap down with a simple traditional staple..You could use anything...brad, eyelet, hole punch and ribbon...I personally like the clean & sleek look of the 'ole staple. I used my crocheted ribbon from J's {you know, the non-crunchy one}. See those puffy Thickers?? I ♥♥♥ Peachy Cheap...thanks Latisha for letting me in on that fabulous site!!

Okay, ready for the inside??!!!

Woot Woot!!!! I was cracking myself up when I put this together...those fabulous owlies are by Maya Road that I picked up at Two Peas....they are adhered with a tiny glue dot so that the recipient can, yes, use them in her cardmaking or layouts...whaddya think of that??!!!! I'll let you in on a secret...I'm taking my own advice and sending out my scor-it projects as RAKs...this Wild Aspargus Family card goes to this chick...or should I say owlie? She is going from a Party of 3 to a Party of 4 pretty soon and I thought this was a fun card to send her...I know I'm probably spoiling the surprise but it has gone postal and sometimes it takes her a smidge to blurf...

Be sure to check out the other DT members and everyone that used "Mr. Linky"...I've been having a ball'orama commenting on everyone's projects this week. Keep those fab cards/projects rolling in...Tomorrow is my day on the 365 Card blog...Be sure to take a peek, I hope that it inspires you...

a little bird told me....

This is for Kazan's sketch 24 over at 2 Sketches 4 You. I knew that I wanted to use my new American Crafts Backyard papers...yup, once again I bought about 4 sheets...1 of each design. They are sooo super sweet...I fussy cut the bird and his home which I then nestled onto ginormous glue dot pop dots...The green scallop pieces are sewn onto the blue scallops...A fabulous sketch to showcase the sweet American Crafts papers...I was thinking of smacking on ribbon and flowers but decided I liked the crispness of the card, as is, without the extra embellies.

sassy tri-fold

Today's 365 Cards Scor-it challenge is a Tri-fold. I was absolutely inspired by this Horchow tri-fold card. Why yes, you did read that right, 50 for a steal at only $332.00...cha-ching!

Can you see my black cardstock peeking out? It measures 4.25 x 11 inches. I sewed the Sassafras Rose Thicket paper onto the black cardstock... the sweet scallops hang lower than the black cs.

Here is the tri-fold, well, folded up. I put together a belly band to keep everything together...it just slides right off.

Here's an interior shot...I felt like I should line the card with white since it makes it easier to write a greeting. The scallop end is scored at 3.5 inches and the other end at 2.75 inches. I'd recommend only 2 layers instead of my 3 layers...I scored each piece separately and it makes for a pretty bulky card. I ended up backing the scallop piece with black cardstock because Sassafras always has writing on it..darn it.

Be sure to check out the other gals on the 365 Cards DT for their magnicent projects. It is sooo fun to see everyone's different takes on the challenges. We really love your enthusiasm this week and actually for all the challenges...you gals are most fabulous!!!
