queen of the castle...

This is post #2 for me today...be sure to check out my other post with my 365 Cards project, an announcement and some blog candy!

Hello!!!

I can't wait to share my Sketch Girl Guest Designer Card!!!

The sponsor is The Wild Flower Patch!

Wild Flower Kids are cute digital stamps for every occasion focusing on creating whimsy in the everyday. WFK stamps are available at The Wild Flower Patch Store. Here's the blog link and the store link.

WFK will give the winner 5 free digi images from the store.

Here's the fun sketch!

I had the opportunity to play with Princess Rose along with a fun sentiment.

Queen of the Castle...gotta love that...every woman should be the Queen of her Castle:) I paper pieced Rose with Basic Grey Infuse...Her hair has been paper pieced with Stampin' Up Close to Cocoa. I didn't want to cover up her entire skirt with the sentiment so I printed it on vellum and made a wide sash....did you notice the sheer part of her sleeve has been pieced with vellum too? Her crown has been inked up with a Sakura Stardust pen and then finished off with some Kaiser Crafts pearls...as is her belt. I did some stitching and then topped it off with A Muse Creative Candy...Gotta love Rose's smirk and her blue eyeshadow:)

Can you tell that this is actually a 4.25 x 4.25 inch card? I love working with that size...

I hope that you join in the Sketch Girl fun!!! Thanks to ALL the Sketch Girls...I had a total blast being the Guest Designer...you gals rock!

I have definitely been neglecting my pile 'o Sassafras so I decided to dive into it for today's card...check out the sketch...a little challenging...I'm thinking that Gloria &/or Rose will mention something about Pam's "special coffee"...LOL.

I'm experimenting with my photog studio:) Sassafras Vintage Yummy is definitely delish in my book:) I was able to combine Making Memories alpha stickers and SEI buttons too....
I hope that you'll join us in Day 365 and Super Sketchy Sunday!!

Okay, onto my woot woot news....

I said...YES!

Muwahaha....I was actually waiting to get my gorgeous ring back from the jeweler's...it had to be sized down to my petite size 3.5 ring finger...I couldn't be more thrilled that 'd' asked me to marry him...in the words of Nickelback...

...I've found the one I'll spend forever with...

He is thee kindest & most empathetic man...he makes me laugh, he makes me happy, he is drama-free, grounded, ambitious, he encourages my passion for paper {gotta love that}....I knew he was the 'one for me' early on...it's that gut feeling, kwim? I could seriously go on & on.... for now I'll share some pics from the cruise...

This is where I type my disclaimer about my girlie...I love her to pieces but good grief, she really does not dig getting her picture taken these days...it makes Momma not so much of a happy camper...I think it is a part of all that teenage angst...she'll be 15 in a couple weeks...

She was cracking me up the other night...she was holding my hands and was going on and on about how small my hands are...silly girl....

My boy couldn't be more different...the dude loves getting his pic taken....

Dang, he's CUTE:)

Thanks for letting me share my "woot woot" news with you....it's something that I knew I wanted to include in my blogging journey...

Okay, okay, I know...get to the candy girl....so, in honor of my engagement...my 100k blog hits...my 200+ followers and well, all your super sweet comments and just visiting me....I've put together a bag of goodness for you to win. I'll share the pics and get back to the deets afterwards...

This ZVA bag is from CHA...I'm a huge fan of ZVA....wanted to have a vessel for all the goodies:)

There are some Foof-a-la, Pink Paislee & Sassafras Rub ons..

Tinkering Ink rub ons and felties..

Some American Crafts Flair, ZVA, Imaginisce stamp & Maya Road Ribbon Charms...

key to my heart stamp set by Practicing Creativity!!!

Whew....there you have it...lots of goodness...here are the deets...I'll keep this candy open until 11:59 pm {pacific} on Saturday, March 6th. Only 1 comment in the drawing for each peep. International bloggie friends are of course, welcome! No need to post this on your blogs...I'd love to keep it to my regulars and lurkers:) Come on you lurkers....pop in and say Hello! I've seen this method on some other blogs and hope that you don't mind that I want to know when your birthday is...month/day...I gotta get organized and record them...I always seem to find out AFTER the fact, kwim?

Make sure you check out my Sketch Girl card as their Guest Designer...it is on a separate post for today!

trigger the blooms...

Bloggers...we have to continually be crafty in our post titles, don't we?! Sometimes that seems to be more of a challenge than the actual creations..LOL.

I haven't had a chance to play over at 2s4y in a couple weeks...Love Laura's sketch for this week!

It's me again...trying to hurry up Spring:) I used 3 different patterns from the GCD Canta line...Love it for the fresh & fun designs! The ginormous half bloom to the right of the PTI ribbon is actually fussy cut from my Rock Floral sheet...I don't know if you can tell by the pic but it is super glittery...all the black is black GLITTER...The first panel of patterned paper is Melodic Flowers...I added Kaiser Black bling on a majority of the blooms:) The glittery thickers were throwing me into fits because I couldn't seem to peel off the paper to expose the adhesive...grrr...that's what I get for keeping my nails so short:)

Next up is the Moxie Fab'alicious Tuesday Trigger...check out this delish card picked by Kim Hughes by Kimberly Crawford!

I had all these yellow ideas and check out my end result...

I was hoping that I had a similar yellow patterned paper in my stash...ladies, I have a ginormous stash of patterned papers but no such luck...so I was digging through a boxed set of K&Co paper and came across this fun zig zag goodness...

The Lemonade digi is from the fabbie Regina of
The Cutting Cafe...I love the sentiment...I'm a firm believer that "things happen for a reason"..."take the good from the bad"..."learn from your experiences". The bling is ala A Muse Creative Candy..dontcha love that name? The ribbon and paper is Stampin' Up So Saffron...such a lovely color...so soothing. The button is actually a T $ Spot buy from years ago...it had a foam sticker on the back that I peeled off and it was also threaded up, which I clipped off to make room for the black waxed twine.

I had a lovely surprise yesterday over on the Cards Blog...

My Shaped Pinwheel card was picked up by the fabbie Paige! It was also super exciting to see so many of my bloggie friends have their cards highlighted too!!!

A Big Woot Woot for my Momma...today is her 70th Birthday!!! She is still quite the Spring Chicken and one wise chicklet...yes, sometimes she drives me nutty...hey, it is all a part of that whole mother-daughter relationship thing BUT she IS a strong independent woman. She traveled from Japan to the US in the late 50's. She married my Dad and had 3 kids...I have 2 older brothers. She eventually went from being a stay-at-home Mom to working full-time and raising me and my brothers as a single Mom. As an adult, I have learned so much from her and appreciate all that she has done {and continues to do} for us. I could go on and on about her but bottom line she is one fabulous woman, I'm so thankful for her and her health...

Whew....that was a ton of typing for me...thanks for stoppin' by and taking a peek at my cards for today...Come on back tomorrow for the 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday which is also Day 365! I cannot believe that I've been on the Design Team for a year...it has been a fabulous experience for me...I've learned so much and grown so much as a crafty girl....I'm thrilled to stay on as a Super Sketchy Sunday Designer....P.S. I'm hoping that I can still post my announcement which will be teamed up with some blog candy:)

my signature style...

Happy Thursday!

Have you been keeping up with the 365 Cards Blog this week? Here's a smidge of what Pam had to say about this week:

This week, our wonderful designers want to share with you some cards based on their signature styles. Week after week they have tackled whatever challenges I have thrown at them, and they've done it well. So for a change they were given some freedom to let their personal styles shine. So what is the challenge for you? It's a style and scraplift challenge all rolled into one.

This was actually a difficult challenge for me...give me a sketch....I'm there...I tweek it, I turn it and I'm done...but give me the freedom to do whatever...yipes! Signature Style....Hmmm....I guess I'd say I am fun & funky...clean & cute?

So, being the person that I am, I spent time to over analyze the assignment and then decided to reach for the stuff that makes me happy....

I know...I know....were you expecting an owl? LOL...there is something about Cosmo Cricket Early Bird line that is just, well, happy. I'm sooooo looking forward to Spring that I knew I wanted to do something to hopefully hurry it along:) This is one of my favorite earlier 365 Cards Sunday Sketch cards and so I kind of cased myself...LOL..I've been enjoying making shaped cards so I knew that I wanted to join in the fun over on the Cards Blog too. Wish me luck in finding an envy for this puppy...

Soooo...feel free to check out any of my cards and Style & Lift:)

ruffles...

When I first saw the latest Sweet Sunday Sketch, I thought of ruffles...

So I put together a bunch of different GCD Studios papers that are brown and blue... and topped it off with that ginormous bloom...definitely a hand delivered greeting card:)

Check out all the layers in the bloom...

Have you noticed that all the pics for this week are outdoor ones...that's what happens when I multi-task over the weekend and have the time to photog outdoors...

I was pretty happy to see that I have exceeded 100,000 hits on my blog...pretty coolio...I'll be slinging out some blog candy as a thank you for all of you that take the time to come visit
'lil 'ole me...maybe Sunday or Monday which I'll team up with a Woot Woot Announcement:)

The challenge is to use flowers!
You can use floral paper, flower stamps, flower embellies...etc.
SCS keyword: JBE094

I decided to use FTL79:

I love the greens & yellows in the Basic Grey Origins paper...

I always seem to paper piece the PTI bloom....the sentiment is a SU rub on...been getting good use out of those these days:)

Hope you join us in the JBelle fun....super easy challenge and a great way to hurry Spring along:)

my jillibean friend...

Happy Monday...back to the saltmines for me today...I need a vacation from my vacation:) The weather in Washington has been absolutely fantabulous...such a nice transition from my Cali/Mexi weather of last week.

I haven't played with the CPS sketches in awhile so I decided to join in the fun this week!

I recently picked up some more sweet Jillibean papers and was going to use the fabbie Talk Soup, but decided to hoard that owlie goodness for a smidge longer...LOL. Here's some Minestrone for ya:)

Did you notice the pearls on the butterfly? The 'friend' is an SU rub on...

I've been a lucky duck and have received some super fabbie RAKs:

From the super nice Winter:

Laurel rocks..

Yvonne sent me a load of goodies!

Ivy...owl, cupcake, tags and flair...woot woot.

Thanks for stoppin' by...was trying to catch up on my Google Reader...I definitely have a love/hate relationship with it...I literally spent HOURS trying to catch up and then figured out that Google reader wasn't marking all the posts that I HAD read as read...ugh. Anyways, I'm starting fresh and new and will be commenting away this week:)

Hey Cupcake!

Can you believe that this is Day 358??!! Good Grief, where do the days go??

Here is the fun sketch for today!!!

I broke into my new Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride 6 x 6'er!

You all know that blue and red is one of my favorite color combos but I'm also smitten by blue and orange...such a festive duo dontcha think? Every panel has been stitched up....I added some snipped ZVA pearl flourishes and PTI buttons! I've been hoarding that sweet Basic Grey felt cupcake and decided to de-hoard...sigh...it actually had a felt cherry on it and I doubled it up with a PTI button...

We have tons of fun in store for you this week on the 365 Cards Blog....I hope that you'll join in the festivities!

Bonus Challenge: Use only 2 colors

This week we're being sponsored by Wags 'n Whiskers!

Check out the Get Sketchy blog for the Prize Deets!

I was a slight rebel on the Bonus Challenge but I did primarily use Red & Blue!

I used the Happy Day stamp! I really did color the girl with Copic Skin White but you can't tell that by the pic...I'm still diggin' Basic Grey Cupcake...and did a bunch of paper piecing...

Hope that you'll join in on the Get Sketchy fun!!
