relax...

TGIF my friends!!!!

I can't believe it is almost the weekend...soooo looking forward to it!

I've been hoarding the super gorgeous MME Lush line...I only picked up 3 sheets of it, patting myself on the back for not picking up one of everything:)

What's that you say? Why yes, I DID de-hoard a Prima bloom AND yes, I did HEAT EMBOSS!!! I happen to find my heat gun in my organizational nightmare from last weekend..hahaha...did you know that when I first started stamping I embossed everything...I don't know when the last time I heat embossed...it's definitely been a while:)

I broke out the Schlosser Designs Furnishing Fun set...

This is perfect for the Moxie Fab World "The Three Cheers for Chairs Challenge".

I was inspired by CPS164:

Did you know that tomorrow, May 1st is National Scrapbooking Day??!!!!
In celebration, Jacksonbelle is having a 25% store wide sale from today through Sunday!!! Pop over there and LOAD UP LADIES!!!!!

Have a super Friday!!!

cozy quilt...

Happy Thursday!

The week has certainly flown by....I was thrilled to literally rip open my Jacksonbelle package that I received...yup, the NEW October Afternoon pads!

For those that have been following me for a smidge, you know how much I ADORE red & blue...so I definitely gravitated to these 2 patterns out of the Thrift Shop stack.

This card was made especially for a co-worker...she has been trying to get me to jump into quilting...can you imagine me picking up another hobby...another expensive hobby??! Perhaps I'll do that when/if I retire:) Anywho's, my friend is leaving..she was offered a job at, well, a large well-known techie company....bittersweet for me since I'm thrilled for her but I'm going to miss her...I just hope I don't cry on her last day...I'm like that...I'm typically a blubbering mess at movies...good grief, you should see me when I watch 'P.S. I Love You'..sensitive, that's what I call myself...it's not like I'm always sobbing but I'm going to miss her...okay, okay....back to the card...she loves monograms and was recently inquiring about bottlecaps so I 'had' to add that to the card...bonus points for de-hoarding too:)

I was absolutely inspired by TESC110:

I wanted to share a fun award that I received...I'm actually behind on another one that I'll post this weekend...Awards are so much fun. It's really neat to be recognized by another crafter:) I actually have a heck of a time picking peeps for these things...oy...EVERY crafter that I KNOW is talented...

The Fabulous Crafty Girl Laurel... after searching far and wide in her royal kingdom of crafting...has bestowed this royal award to me!!! Laurel, you have totally made my day!!!!!Before awarding this award myself... you need to read what Queen Sassy Lady wrote because it was just way to clever....

Now it is my royal decree as Crafty Girl Amy to Crown other Royal Crafting Queens..... I have searched the kingdoms far and wide for worthy ladies and gentlemen that share the desire to pass their crafting love and skills to all the subjects in the kingdom without royal fees or taxes and have found these worthy subjects...

To take up your crown the new Queen must link their blog to the sender of this blog and any future Queens they crown. . If you've been crowned, please send an email to Queen Cindy at Cre8tveLdy@aol.com and Queen SassyLady at shesasassylady@hotmail.com, along with your web or blog address and the website of whoever crowned you, so you can be listed as a Royal Blogger. (If you need the "King" version of the award, let Queen Cindy know and she will email it to you.)

I hope you will proudly display this award on your site, and I thank you for being such a benevolent Queen or King who is so generous to your loyal subjects!

Crafty Girl Laurel
... I am humbled and honored to accept this award!! In return, I have searched the entire blogging kingdom and found a loyal subject worthy of this crown... and I would like to award this crown to...

sing in the sunshine...

Welcome to the Wednesday Whimsy Haven Blog Hop!!!

You should have hopped here from Jen J's blog:

Jen's Cup of Creations

If not, the fun starts over on the Whimsy Haven blog! Remember that there is a random draw on the comments that are posted on each of the DT's blog for a Whimsy Haven set...one lucky poster can play with today's fabbie Whimsy Haven prize!

Birthday Star

Also be sure to check out the Whimsy Haven blog for the $1 Wednesday goodie....remember that it is only for Wednesday and then the goodie goes to regular price on Thursday...great way to stock up on Lindsay's CUTE images!

Okay, I know...I know...onto the card. I used the Card Patterns #61 sketch:

Here's the thing, it is a super clean & simple sketch and boy, did it throw me...I don't know what it was but I was determined to keep it CAS. Funny thing is that when I started card making I was purely the CAS girl, things have definitely changed and so I'm going to make at LEAST 1 card a week that is CAS...

This card looks over the top CAS....like almost too easy smeasy...is that what you all are thinking? Well, let me tell you, it was one of my most labor intensive cards...LOL...seriously! I machine stitched that sunshine...everything except the text. Now, if I was a smart cookie, I would have done it by hand but for some silly reason, I didn't {slaps forehead}.

Do you see the threads that are sticking out? Hmmm....they actually kind of bother me but I happened to read born to fly's post...are you familiar with her blog...OMGoodness....such lovely stuff...but check out #1 on her list...'more character'...I like that...granted she is writing about hand stitching but that's okay by me:)

Anywho's...there is something about the duo of yellow and red that make me extremely happy...kwim? The sun is from the Rainy Day set....it's soooo CUTE and hey, I'm a washingtonian, so it's perfect for me:)

Okay, hop on over to the fabby Amy C:

Have a Whimsy Haven-licious kind of day!

P.S. I'm thrilled that I have 5 takers on my

♥♥Pay It Forward for Creative People♥♥
challenge!!!

I'll be sure to post the fabbie ladies who are joining me on this fun challenge and the various cards that I create especially for them:)

take care of yourself...& a Pay it Forward Challenge!

Welcome to the Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge!

The challenge?

Get Krafty!

Make a card using a Kraft card stock as your base!

Ohhhhh....easy smeasy for me as 90% of the time my cards use a Kraft card stock base!

I decided to use Clean & Simple #87:

This week over at Jacksonbelle, our product highlight is October Afternoon! As I patiently wait for my new October Afternoon goodies, I played with some OA that I STILL love:

This card is going postal for a bloggie friend that is under the weather...thought it was fun to use the apple print and the "take care of yourself" sentiment from Stampin' Up...the 'ole An Apple A Day saying...

I have to share my original take on the sketch...only to realize that I had made my own sketch since it didn't even match the Clean & Simple one...

The label is actually ala American Crafts Letterpress pattern paper...I managed to crank out several of these to send as thank you's to my friends that threw my engagement party...alot of those gals are 'eco' so what I did was wrote a note of thanks on a different sheet of paper...enclosed it inside the card along with another envy so that they were essentially receiving a 're-usable' greeting card...

I hope that you'll join in on the Jacksonbelle fun!

Please check out the other Jbelle gals for inspiration:

I don't know if I'm the only crafter that has this problem...I'm great at cranking out the cards but seem to have issues with actually sending cards on a regular basis....this weekend I did write out about 10 cards...sheesh, my hand was tired from writing...I'm so use to being on the computer and not handwriting stuff...LOL. Anyways, my bloggie friend Elaine posted something on her FB that I crossed to my blog...I also slightly revised it:)

♥♥Pay It Forward for Creative People♥♥

I hereby promise to send something handmade to the first 5 people who leave a comment that they want to participate in the PIF challenge. In turn, they promise to post this and send something they made to the first 5 posters on their blog. I promise that your Items will be received before the end of June 2010.

Will you join me in the fun?
{EDITED: I have all 5 PIF Players...woot woot!!!!}

tweet!

Happy Monday!!!

How are you doing for a Monday? I was able to spend several glorious {use your most sarcastic tone} hours cleaning my crafty space....more on that in a smidge...

Onto some craftiness...

Ahhhh.....why yes that is MME, again:) Do you notice something a bit different? That sweet butter colored crochet bloom is ala Alice {thanks sista!! patting myself on my back for not hoarding}.

My inspiration is the latest OCC sketch:

Some of you might remember me saying that I've been in a long process of dehoarding...I was essentially spending several hours picking out things that I wanted to sell, not cleaning or organizing at all. Well, for some reason I decided to start cleaning and organizing while still dehoarding...translation...pure madness....I only share these pics because so many of you have done the same...opened your home to the blogging world to catch a glimpse of where you work...I should insert here that this is when the cleaning process had ALREADY started...I always make a bigger mess when I clean...{WHY is that??!!}

Why yes, that is my work top...I managed to huck a bunch of 'schtuff' on it during my cleaning process...trying to figure out if it was a keep/toss/donate or sell item....LOL...yes, that is a beanie baby bear {sherry spotted her}....she has a Canadian flag on her {woot woot!}.

Something I discovered...these punches can stand up...hahaha...{smacking my forehead!}...

Yup, I have all of these marvy punches too...no nesties...yet...feel guilty going to another system when I've already dropped a bundle on the marvies:)

Here you go...several hours later...sheesh, there IS a work top underneath all that schtuff!

The floor is clean! Okay, so I may have shoved some other things out of the picture..muwahahaha...but I seriously got a bunch of stuff done....I decided to liquidate all my 48+ SU pads...a ton of embellies...like a ton of stuff...oy....I have the opportunity to do 2 garage sales over the next couple of months so I hope to move a majority of my stuff then. The last couple weeks I've felt like the USPS office has been my 2nd home...not complaining since I have been able to sell a bunch of stuff of my blog and SCS but it IS time consuming considering that I work full time/ have 2 kids and good grief, I'm a paper crafting blogger...enough said:)

I finally put that paper sorter together that is on my desk {this last pic was taken a couple hours after the one above}...oh man, I love it...all my other pieces are Store-in-Style...they cost way more but I like the generic brand better {it's what Target carries but I bought mine at my local craft shop}...way easier to put together and NO glue...So there you go...my crafty area...okay, one part of it...I'll show my other areas later....but basically a glorified hallway.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed a partial tour of my area:) I totally wasn't expecting to show you pics but since it basically took most of my weekend, I wanted to blog it for my own sake:)

electrifying...

Welcome to 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!

We have a fab sponsor but first I want to share with you our sketch:

Our Sponsor for this week is Digital Delights!

Here is my 'creative' {creative = rebel} take on today's sketch:)

Get those sunglasses on....this is {another} bright card:) I got to play with the Smiling Fish image. I'm going to call her "She-Mo"...cousin to Nemo:) I thought I had more Cosmo Cricket Snorkel to play with...but I didn't have enough to use on the entire card so I dug out my 'Get Happy' papers. I added a sweet little prima flower {mostly because my glue pen went crazy on me}...and did you notice the 'skittles'? I'm thinking of the scallops in Pam's sketch as upside down waves...LOL...darn it, I just had to have the waves for She-Mo:)

Hope you'll join us in the sketchy fun:)

♥♥RAK Alert♥♥

Check out what thee fabbie Kim sent me:

Oh man Oh man...check out those fabbie Just Chillin' chippie stickers {Oh yeah for OWLS!!}...chocolate AND a gorgeous mini card....LOVE everything Kim...thanks soooo much for thinking of me!!!!

Saturday, April 24, 2010

congrats along with me & u.

Happy Saturday!!!!

I have a couple cards to share with you today...first up is my take on Heather's bonus sketch over on 2s4y. Darin asked if I would make a graduation card for his niece. I think that the Practicing Creativity, Look Up set, is perfect for that occasion.

My Amy Butler papers have been horribly neglected so I decided to paper piece the hot air balloon/banner with it. The cloud paper is Bella Blvd.

Here's Heather's sketch:

I decided to give Laura's sketch another go..especially since I've been wanting to play with some new prima's that I recently picked up...

Actually, my card is based on that Prima chippie...I ended up using 3 different Prima papers...

I love how you can see text print throughout the papers...the shabby chic collection is wow...LOVE their stuff...

Any super fun plans? It's just me and the girl this weekend...the boy went camping so it's quite calm & quiet in the household:) We took my mom out for vietnamese last night...the girl drove us over to my Mom's...it's really not that far but she was driving with other cars on the road...I didn't realize how nervous/tense I was until we switched seats when we got to my Mom's...I was instantly exhausted...you should have seen the look of pure shock on my Momma's face when she saw us switching seats...LOL...she hasn't seen the girl drive yet.

Okay, come on back tomorrow for my 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday card...we have a super sponsor too!

An October Afternoon in April...

Check out what just landed in the Jacksonbelle store:

Just a smidge of enablin'...don't you worry, I already ordered one of each:)

chick chick here & parisian goodness...

TGIF my peeps....TGIF!!!

I had some fun with Laura's sketch #50:

I love that my local craft shop is carrying some Jillibean...

Everything is Jillibean except for the alpha, those are Cosmo Cricket...you might not be able to tell but I put pearls down the right side of the card...nothing loud or bright....just a smidge of goodness:)

I wanted to also share a little "Happy Hostess" giftie that I put together. I'm a huge fan of Cavallini....from their stamps...to their file folders....the calendars....decorative wraps....you name it, I LOVE it.

Check out those sweet parisian sticky notes...I added the seam binding ribbon and slapped together the tag {check it out Ivy...I'm using a tag...thanks sista!!!}.

My engagement party was at my dear friend's place...her home is truly lovely...like out of a home decor magazine lovely. I figured she'd dig the sticky notes so I dolled up the tag with Cavallini Paris stamps...a smidge of lace trim that I stitched directly onto the tag and a vintage MM label...easy smeasy. I just attached the tag with more of the celery seam binding ribbon...

♥♥ On a side note♥♥

I received a graduation announcement and picture of my flower girl...she's graduating from college...COLLEGE....good grief, I feel old. Still the whipper snapper that she was when she was a toddler...going for her Master's degree...thatta girl!!!

My girl has been driving us around lately...she's doing GREAT...so calm, cool and collected...even drove the car into the garage...oy...she was so cute, she kept asking if she was doing a good job {she was} and if I was going to blog about it...hahahaha...

Happy Earth Day & a Whimsy Haven Winner!

Happy Earth Day 2010!!!!

I wanted to share a couple projects I made in honor of today...first up is some Cutting Cafe Goodness...

I teamed up the Earth Day set with a sneaky peek at a new circles background...nothing is better than black and kraft:)

I decided to add a pop of color...PTI New Leaf, how appropriate...green:)

Next is my card for the latest CPS sketch:

I wanted to play with Lindsay's latest Whimsy Haven, Live Love Life image that she posted yesterday.

You all know how much I adore Cosmo Cricket Early Bird...makes for such a happy card! The red panel is from the Nutmeg line, it is a woodgrain pattern...perfect for Paige's Woodgrain challenge over on the Cards Blog. I 'shined' up the hearts with SU Crystal Effects...

Hopefully you were able to join us yesterday for the Whimsy Haven Blog Hop.

If you didn't know, Whimsy Haven has a blog hop every Wednesday...leave a comment on all of the 'hops' and you might just win a Whimsy Haven digi-set!!!!

Guess what? I get to pick the winner from all the comments that were left on my blog yesterday!!!! Check out the prize'ola:

Yuppers...it's the Journal Card Set!!! One of my Whimsy Haven favorites....LOL..okay, all the sets by Whimsy Haven are my favorites....but seriously.....check out some of my Journaling Card projects HERE.

Happy Wednesday and Welcome to the Whimsy Haven Blog Hop!!!

You should have hopped over here from Amy C's blog, Caffinated Cropper. The Blog Hop starts at Whimsy Haven:)

I decided to play with a couple images from the "On the Shelf" set:

I used the newest SFYTT:

I played with my Basic Grey Lemonade 6x6'er...

Here's a close up of the fabbie frame and lamp:

I truly enjoy paper piecing:) Do you notice that the scallop frame paper is different than the interior of the frame?! I had so much fun with this card....it doesn't get much better than all those wonderful colors!!!!! The sentiment is ala A Muse.

Okay, hop on over to Jen J's blog, Jen's Cup of Creations!
