dear santa...

Well, today is one of those bittersweet posts...it's my last sketch with the fabbie Cardabilities Team. I've really enjoyed my time with the team and had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful sketches!!!! Thanks so much to Karan and the Cardabilities Design Team!

Here is the fabbie sketch #12:

Seriously trying to squeeze in a couple Holiday cards a week...can't believe tomorrow will be OCTOBER!

I'm so having fun with my Basic Grey Jovial!

I happened to pick up the 6x6'er, the bloomers and the diecuts from the Jovial line at Paper Zone when they were having a store wide 20% off sale. I was determined to use that sweet snowperson and bird diecut but didn't realize until I cut/punched/sewed my various panels that the die cut was humungous...see below:

So I sadly trimmed away the blue border piece....but hey, I made it fit!

The sentiments are from A Muse...

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure to check out the Cardabilities blog to see what the other Team members designed!

This also fits the Moxie Fab World's current challenge:

The Jolly Holiday Greeting Challenge

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!!!

warm wishes...

Ahhh...the smell of coffee brewing, isn't it thee best?!!

I finally picked up the Hero Arts "cup of coffee" image last week and couldn't wait to ink it up:

haha...if you didn't know, I'm a huge coffee-a-holic:)

All the patterned paper is Echo Park Paper, the kraft/button are PTI and the sentiment is A Muse...I'm thinking of whipping up several of these in different green patterns for Christmas Cards:)

The scallops were made with my 1 3/8 circle punch..

I was inspired by {a flipped} FTL109:

I'm also playing in the Scrappy Saturday Challenge over at Wee Memories...CAS Card:

This is also for the Caardvarks Clean & Simple Challenge.

I've also been itchin' to enter one of the holiday challenges over on Moxie Fab World so I'm entering this for the:

The Jolly Holiday Greetings Challenge

Whew, multi-tasking at its best....thanks so much for stopping by and I also wanted to share this little article that the fabbie Rose Miller passed along to me because she knows that I dig Starbucks...they actually have some money savings tips in the article!

Unfortunately it seems that Riccola...cold meds...tea & honey are my best friends these past couple of days...grrr...I get over the stomach flu and get hit with my daughter's cold...double grrr...

Think: Candy Corn

Hello and welcome to Skipping Stones Design Day here on my blog!

We had the opportunity to work with this fun set called:

Happy Halloweenie

Check out the fun sketch!
Gotta love the banner!!!!!

My color inspiration is from candy corn...unfortunately I can eat those things until I make myself sick..oy.

The ghost has been fussy cut and selectively inked so that I could easily fit the sentiment inside. It has been adhered to the card with glue dots...lots of black stitching...the patterned paper is from Echo Park, the yellow is Stampin' Up Summer Sun and although you can't tell by the pic, I used the Quickutz polka dots folder on the yellow...the bling is from Queen & Co.

Happy 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!!

I'm super thrilled to say that it is Sparkle Creations Week over at 365 Cards!!! She is a fabbie bloggie buddie of mine and I'm sooo happy that she's started her own company...VERY coolio!

Okay, first up is the sketch from Pam:

I had the pleasure to work with the turntable josh image....

The sketch was a smidge tricky for me so here's my interpretation of it:

I used Cosmo Cricket's Joyride papers...love them...I did ginormous amounts of paper piecing on josh...

I was disappointed that the sentiment in the bottle cap really didn't photog well so I had to do a close up:

You're da bomb

Isn't that perfect?!

I hope that you'll join us in the sketch challenge and make sure that you check the 365 Cards blog to see what the other Sunday Sketch Crew gals designed ...AND make sure you also pop over to Sparkle Creations site...you won't be disappointed....such FUN images!!!!!

Thanks Sparks for being our fabbie sponsor this week!!!

paper: cosmo cricket joyride, pti kraft stamps: sparkle creations turntable josh, sentiment by A Muse other: misc twill ribbon, cosmo cricket joyride buttons, misc twine, bottle cap

Skipping Stones Design Blog 4 Boobies/Susan G Komen Foundation Fundraiser update!!

Just a super speedy update on the Blog 4 Boobies Fundraiser for the Susan G Komen Foundation!

Remember my card?

...and the winning blog candy that went along with the card?

Well, I'm SUPER pleased to say that the VERY lovely Julie Tucker-Wolek is the WINNER!!!! Her bid of $20 was the highest AND I'll be matching her $20 so together we'll be donating $40...pretty good!!! Thanks sista!!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone that made a bid {I'll be drawing a name using random.org of the others that placed a bid and will post that sometime tomorrow} and to all that hopped/bounced with us during the 2-day event. If you haven't had a chance to read the
"This is why we fight" blog post...I highly recommend it....

Flashback Friday 3.0

Make sure you check out my "second chances" layout HERE.

Check it out...I feel so official:)

Like my new Flashback Friday logo? It is by Lisa Arana...of dahlhouse designs. She is also responsible for my new siggie too:)

Okay, just some deets on the Flashback Friday festivities....I'll try to sling them out once a month. It is really a reminder of 'how far we've come' in our crafting/blogging....I think that we tend to forget that aspect and I've always been one to reminisce about things...get all nostalgic...

♥♥Edited to add: Please do not link your original blog post that contains your flashback card/project... you should re-post your Flashback Friday card onto your blog...that's the fun of it...taking ownership of your flashback card...layout...project..in the present day...haha...that's why some people don't want to play...but it is all for fun...♥♥

I do have a big surprise...the most fabbie Emily at E.A.D Designs is my first SPONSOR!!!!

Woot Woot....check out the E.A.D Designs Stickerz prize package that is up for grabs for one random winner of Flashback Friday 3.0!!!!

Haha...I'm super lucky to be on the DT for E.A.D Designs because Emily loves Owlies too!!! Thanks Emily!!!!

So 3.0 is compliments of the fabbie Rose Miller....What I'll start doing is have the winner of the Flashback Friday pick the next Flashback challenge...muwahahaha......that's what I call creative delegating...

So Rose's idea is to post your first challenge card that you ever made....before I show you our cards, lets first learn a smidge about Rose :

I live in California with my wonderful husband of three years, my mother, and our two spoiled furbabies, which are always "helping" me make my cards. I started making cards almost two years ago. I only wish I lived in a larger town just so I could shop in a "real" craft store rather then "on line" for the good stuff !! I don't have a "style" as I am more of a "free spirit" ( or rebel ) LOL

She is so kind to share her first challenge card:

Isn't it gorgeous?? Look at all the layers and different patterns...the scallops...the distressing...excellent my friend. It is really ironic because it was for a 365 Cards Challenge!!! LOL

Thanks Rose for the FUN Flashback Challenge!!!

So here you go, this is mine...or what I could find..it is from my Splitcoaststampers Gallery Archives...seriously....

Circa January 2, 2006 peeps....

{chuckle} Even back then, I was a coffee-a-holic....Evidently it was a challenge for another site:
---
Coffee Retiform

One of my New Year Resolutions is to try new techniques. This is a card that I did for another board. The latte cup and sugar packets are by Ann-ticipations....saw the cup used in a card on the other board and knew that I HAD to get it.
---

Okay, so I'm wondering what challenge site it was? haha...like I'd remember now? I barely remember what I had for dinner last night!

Interesting things to note:

1. it is an all-stamped card...no patterned paper!
2. monochromatic card...no bright and funky colors
3. somethings never change, definitely my love of coffee is still strong...
4. Here's a link to a retiform tut by Beate over on SCS.
5. I scanned my cards back then...

Okay, hopefully I did it right and there should be an inlinkz attached to this post...if not, bear with me and I'll get it fixed...sheesh, I'm so not techie:)

You'll have until October 15th at 11:59 PM PDT to link up....
