hello...

A ginormous Happy Birthday to my Momma:)

For those that have been following me a while may remember this...my Mom, for some reason, hates being called Momma...odd because I love it when my kidlets call ME that....anywho's, luckily she isn't a regular visitor of my blog {watch her pop in today...of course!}...

I whipped this together for her giftie...

I bought a bunch of these kraft bags for my 'big business plans' that have really kind of fizzled out...the craft show business isn't too lucrative for card makers...

In that bag are several Starbucks Gift Cards...I manage to keep her supplied through the various occasions...although I guess she has to replenish her stash in the summer since it is along time in between Mother's Day and Christmas, oh yes, Grandparents Day:)  She is a daily customer of Starbucks with her "drip coffee" order...brings her own mug and saves like $0.03 a cup?  So I threw in a new Starbucks mug too:)

I was inspired by Tiff's sketch:

I'm a first timer at the Lawnscaping Challenges...but I inked up my new Lunar Lights set {LOVE it!}...

Let's see, all the patterned paper is Jillibean...I actually first stamped the Lunar Light image on the backside of the Jillibean polka dot paper...fussy cut it out and then stamped the image again on the polka dot side of the paper...that way the 'krafts' matched, kwim?  The alpha are T $ Spot, I think:) and holy moly, I'm out of my regular white thread for my machine so I used this extra thick stuff and boy oh boy, my machine was NOT diggin' it...felt like I should have been wearing protective eye wear because it was making such a racket...scared the needle was going to 'PING'...luckily it didn't...I love the dramatic look of that bold white thread though...

I'm also linking this to the Moxie Fab World Challenge:

The Paper Piecing Challenge!

My previous entry is a card with heavy paper piecing...I decided to show how paper piecing can make a subtle impact...

Okay, that's it for me today...this week is going to be a FUN one...there is going to be an EAD Designs surprise on Tuesday...so watch for it:)

wow, that is some think thread! I tried heavy thread in my machine awhile back and it also didn't like it, so I went back to my regular all purpose thread. that starbucks pckg is awesome, she'll love it!

Amy, what a super cute gift bag...I'm sure "Momma" will love it! On a side note, last summer I tried my hand at selling at a few craft fairs, but it flopped as well. Luckily I still had jewelry to sell, so it wasn't all bad. Is that common? For cards to not do well at fairs/shows? (maybe it's because people feel they need a reason to buy cards, and if no bdays anniversaries are coming up, they don't?)

Omgosh! I love it! It is too bad about our "business plans" fizzling out...I have had a few myself. But the good news is we have plenty of stock to make gifts now! ps..I bought my husband a set of those mugs that he was lusting over...he had to rearrange our cabinets so that he had an entire shelf for them! And since I couldnt reach my Fiesta-ware mugs...I have a small space for mine now! Ha!

Holy moses, that is a wonderful gift!! Sew in love with the sewing!!!! My gosh, with the white thread too!!! That green-dotted lamp is simply wonderful! Hey, this might make you laugh: I too had big business plans but instead of kraft, I bought about one thousand alien green (some argue it's Easter pastel, but they didn't live very long) paper bags, and I still have probably 99% of them!! =)

Meanwhile, your mom will forgive ANYTHING from a thoughtful and WAY creative girl like yourself! THIS is such a fun, YUMMY and thoughtful project! I believe I'll have another cup - in celebration! HAVE a wonderful day, my lovely friend!
