thanks

I've been having fun with some doilies...love the look of 'em and can't get enough of 'em....

My first card uses Christmas colors but is a thank you card:)  The boy thought it looked cool...the girl said she liked everything except the puffy thing {yo yo flower}...it reminded her of those things that people use if they hurt their head {old fashioned ice pack}...grrrr...she's right!

My patterned paper is Cosmo's Material girl...I ran the green panel {backed by Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red} through the CB with a herringbone folder...love that look...the material on the yo yo bloom is Cosmo Cricket and the journaling spot is from the Material Girl line...I did some fun stitching through the sassy letter stickers.

I was inspired by Case Study #25Eva Dobilas' card:

See how Eva uses that fabbie black/white herringbone strip, I used black stitching on my card...it goes all around the Material Girl panel.

Okay, I used the same Riding Hood Red base on my 2nd card but this is a smidge more "oh-la-la"...haha...cracking myself up.

It's a Valentine's Day with the classic Red/Black color combo...yes, another doily!  Do you see that XO panel?  I won a bunch of goodies from Elle's Studio and that started off as a rectangle that I used a nestie with...Can you tell that the Thickers are glittery?  I stitched all around the black {embossed} panel in red thread...

I was inspired by the current Limelights Papercrafts Sketch:

The Challenge is red embellies...I'm counting my doily as an embellie:)

Both of my cards for today are also for Paige's challenge over on the Create/Cards blog...Doilies!

A big woot woot for all you lovely ladies that left oh-so-sweet comments over on Ellen's blog, The CLASSroom for my post on Friday:)  Such an extreme honor...and I appreciate all your kind words!

  1. Am I really first?!!! That does not look like an ice pack - LOL! Maybe next time you could add some leaves to it for "the girl" ;>) Great stitching what a fun way to add some texture by sewing the letters. On your second card, all that black looks so good.
