Scrappy Saturday 2.0

I {{heart}} this picture of me and my boy....I posted it on my blog and had a ton of comments about how he towers over me...this is when I insert that I'm a petite 4'8"...my boy is at 5'4" and still growing....hoping that he takes after his Scandinavian heritage on the height vs his Japanese.  Although truth be told, he has exceeded my brothers in height...

Love how the orange zig zaggin' makes for a fun detail...btw, that orange thread is vintage...it is on a wooden spool...I tend to hoard it but thought it would be way too fun to add to this layout:)

I confess, I'm a collection kind of girl...when I buy schtuff...I buy a ton of schtuff in that collection.  It makes it easy for me to work with and good grief, who can resist?  All but the embellies are ala Pebbles...I adore their Happy Go Lucky line..The alpha's are American Crafts.  I'm chuckling because before I knew it, the layout turned out more girlie that I had originally planned but hey, it works:)

The label panel that the '14' rests on is upcycled from a Starbucks sleeve:)  The PTI Orange Zest buttons have been strung together...I like that look..hence that string tail that you see..

I was inspired by the Sketchy Thursday feature over on the Pebbles blog:

I tweeked it a smidge...

Who's up for a scrappy challenge?

The colors and embellies (birdie and flowers are very cute) are very well put together. I love the color combo.

I'm purring LOUDER than the cat that's perched directly next to my head, on the back of the COUCH! {And SHE'S getting irritated with me! Doh!} THIS is WONDERFUL and inspiring on SO many levels, Amy! Your use {and ADVICE} about embellies, PLUS, just the fact that you think to do a L/O like this while the memories are still fresh, and THE FACT that you even think to take the pictures... You are ONE smart, AND crafty cookie! YIpeeeee!

Oh wow, Amy, this turned out really nice! Great colors and sketch…perfect. I enjoyed learning a little more about you. I did not know that you are 4'8". I have a friend that is 4'10" (to my towering 5'1" lol) and I know how difficult it is for her to find clothes. Your boy is super handsome. I love this picture of you two…he clearly loves his adorable mom!

This is such a fun and happy page Amy. I love how you tweaked the sketch and I love that you didn't stick to 'boy' colours - gorgeous page :)

Lovely work Amy! :)
I like the LO - not too intimidating and the rectangles are more like mini cards :>) I agree that the button detail is fun and overall, every box is just full of fun. I still can't get into the scrapbooking again. Between you and Yvonne though maybe I will have a breakthrough :>)
