Karma...I believe that things happen for a reason.

me and darin

We were meant to be together...

Where has he been all my life...

well, doing his thing...living his life...

while I was doing my thing...and living my life.

He was meant to come into my life when he did...

There was a year that was filled with life events...some good, some bad...some very bad.  I believe I needed those couple of years in between to find out about myself...realize that things happen for a reason...to realize what I wanted out of life and who I wanted in my life.

definition from the Urban Dictionary:

karma

The Buddhist belief that whatever you do comes back to you, e.g. if you do something good, something good will happen to you, and vice versa.

Darin is my "something good"...

A+ Friend...

Hello and Welcome to Day 2 of The Craft Meow's August Previews!

It's another fun set by Jenny Suchin!

Owl See you in Class

Here is how it inspired me:

I've had the sizzix apple folder and finally used it!!!!  I thought it was perfect for the dry erase board and sentiment....for us oldies, no more blackboards in the classrooms...actually they had dry erase and now they are smart boards!  When I was in elementary school I loved erasing the blackboards and then finishing them off with the velvet like eraser so it would be super clean...you youngies probably don't even remember...LOL

This CUTE set has some FUN images!!!  Make sure you pop over to The Craft's Meow Store blog for peeks from all of the Design Team!

What would new release festivities be without a chance to win prizes? We'll draw one of you to win Owl See You in Class from comments left on The Craft's Meow Store blog post for today. ...make a wish...

Hello!  This is week 2 of 2 for my Guesting over at simply scrapping crafts!

The Craft's Meow is their July Sponsor!

Here's the current challenge:

Week four - color challenge
NO white/cream colors on your card!

I didn't think that I was going to have any difficulties but of course when you can't use something, then that's what you tend to try to use them:)

So, I stayed with kraft and black with a pop of color:
Butterfly Kisses is one of my FAVorite sets from The Craft's Meow:

I teamed it up with The Craft's Meow, Simply Delightful:

A ginormous thank you to the gals over at Simply Scrapping Crafts for having me along for the fun ride!!!
I hope that you'll play along!

I'm also going to sneak in my weekly Jingle Belles card...

This week Ros Crawford came up with a fab challenge...Oh HOLE-y Night!

to make aperture (or "window") card

I was able to make my card speedy quick....

LOL...can you guess why it took me no time to put this together?!  I did actually use my spellbinders to make the window and the white frame for the window...

No sewing...gasp!  I was in multi-tasking mode and it completely slipped my mind...I didn't realize it until I had edited the pic and uploaded it into the post...by that time, there is no going back and the fact that I had used my ATG and glue dots...no peeling off those layers.

congratulations!

Happy Tuesday!  It is the Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge!

This is the last week for our July Guests, I've really enjoyed having them as part of the team...check out Kim Kesti's sketch for this week:

Here is how it inspired me:

I played with my hugely neglected Pink Paislee Queen Bee goodies....isn't that sentiment just perfect for the sketch challenge?!

Actually, my card was going to be a Happy Birthday card but I set down the Happy Birthday sentiment on my work top...ugh, what was I thinking?!!!!!  When I do my mega crafting marathons, my area looks like a tornado has ripped through it...so, instead of taking the time to look for it {are you neat freaks cringing now?!}, my card became a Congratulations card...just so you know, I found the Happy Birthday...LOL.

You won't wanna miss the fabbie goodness from the other gals on the Skipping Stones Design Team:

Make sure you check out our July Guest Designers, we loved having all of you!!!

Kim Kesti - Guest Sketch Artist
Karen Baker - Guest Designer
Karen Christensen - Guest Designer

**On a side note**

Have you been following Gallery Idol 2011?  Good Grief those women are incredibly talented....check out their fabric entries HERE

snail mail...

Hello!  Welcome to the EAD Designs Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from the EAD Designs Blog, if not, you'll want to start there so you don't miss out on any of the fun!

Every week we have a give-a-way during our blog hop...how can YOU win?  Start at the EAD Designs blog, leave a comment and follow the hop!  Make sure that you leave comments on each of the Design Team Member's blog...easy smeasy:)  Ahem, I might just be slinging out the goodies this week:)

This week on my blog, you'll notice that I'll be using stuff from my stash.  Good grief, I have a ton of stuff and even my 'older' schtuff I still love, I just tend to neglect it.

Today's shaped card is a great example of that...the papers are October Afternoon:

The snail is from the EAD Designs Good Times Vinyl set:

I've been having fun stitching through my alpha sentiments:)

I was inspired by the latest Inspirational card sketch:

Don't forget about the July Steal:

EAD Designs and Isabell's Umbrella are my fabbie sponsors over at Flashback Friday:

Flashback Friday 13.0 ends THIS Friday so be sure to LINK UP HERE!

Don't forget that EAD Designs is the sponsor over at CAS-ual Fridays!

sunday stuff...

Sunday...where does the weekend go?

I'm going to be a busy crafty girl for most of the day...lots to do and can't wait to get started!

I have been having a love/hate dealio with all the CHA hoop'la....mostly because I'm not a millionaire and I can't afford all the FAB new stuff that they are showing...another CHA goes by and I didn't get to go, but I'm crossing my fingers for the Winter CHA 2012:)

Here are some linkies to some of my fav collections:

I spotted these over on the Craft Critique blog:

ugh, a new hobby for Amy....check out the kits HERE.

I actually don't have a card or layout to share with you today but I did want to sneak in some pictures that my boy has taken and edited...I won't be shy, I think the boy has talent:)

the boy took a pic of the girl holding those sweet blue blooms...

Hip 2b Square

I finally had the opportunity to get inside a 'new to me' brick and mortar scrapbooking shop that isn't too far from where I live...it is called Hip 2b Square..not just scrapbooking.  My timing was fabulous as Amy Heller was there {Hi Amy!} teaching a class and I had the chance to finally chat with that super over the top talented gal!  I wish that I could have taken the class but my day was packed'ola.  This shop is pretty fabbie and I will definitely be going back...I should have taken pics but with the class going, I didn't want to be a distraction:)

That's it for me....it's going to be a SUPER busy week on my blog...so be prepared:)

Scrappy Saturday 2.0

I {{heart}} this picture of me and my boy....I posted it on my blog and had a ton of comments about how he towers over me...this is when I insert that I'm a petite 4'8"...my boy is at 5'4" and still growing....hoping that he takes after his Scandinavian heritage on the height vs his Japanese.  Although truth be told, he has exceeded my brothers in height...

Love how the orange zig zaggin' makes for a fun detail...btw, that orange thread is vintage...it is on a wooden spool...I tend to hoard it but thought it would be way too fun to add to this layout:)

I confess, I'm a collection kind of girl...when I buy schtuff...I buy a ton of schtuff in that collection.  It makes it easy for me to work with and good grief, who can resist?  All but the embellies are ala Pebbles...I adore their Happy Go Lucky line..The alpha's are American Crafts.  I'm chuckling because before I knew it, the layout turned out more girlie that I had originally planned but hey, it works:)

The label panel that the '14' rests on is upcycled from a Starbucks sleeve:)  The PTI Orange Zest buttons have been strung together...I like that look..hence that string tail that you see..

I was inspired by the Sketchy Thursday feature over on the Pebbles blog:

I tweeked it a smidge...

Who's up for a scrappy challenge?

Friday, July 22, 2011

oh snap!

We're excited to announce that EAD Designs is sponsoring...

CAS-ual Fridays!!!!

The Challenge:

"Here's the Rub" - the challenge will be to use rub-ons (or stickers if the player doesn't have rub-ons) to create a clean and simple project.

Here's how it inspired me:

recipe
I used the EAD Designs
Polaroid Frames Vinyl in White!

The alpha is sassafras!

I hope that you'll join us in the fun!!!!

P.S.  Did you see my scrappy saturday 1.0 challenge?!  Link up for a chance for some goodies:)

I was inspired by the latest Sweet Sunday Sketch:

Just a reminder that the EAD Designs Color Challenge ends today!
