Happy New Years Eve...

Happy New Years Eve!

I thought I would post some of the pictures I had on my blog in 2012 along with what little scrapbooking I managed to complete.

I'm hoping that 2013 will hold more photographs and scrapbooking.

2013...it's going to be a memorable year, I just know it.

My girl will be graduating high school this June....We're anxious to see what colleges give her the big thumbs up, although they should ALL give her the the thumbs up because she is a mighty smart firecracker:)  This big time in her life has me excited and sad all at the same time.  She's my baby bird....I'm going to be an absolutely sobbing mess at her graduation...sigh.

okay, let's get started, shall we?

Every year I try to take the kids onto 2 trips....this was our first one of 2012, we stayed at beach house on the Washington Coast, I loved it.

Shades of the girl...she doesn't like to get her picture taken

Me & My Boy @ the beach
{he's a ham and will always take a pic with his Momma}

Here's a pic from July, it was my boy's birthday party...
{I love my boy!}

My Birthday
{me and my honey...I love that man!}

My birthday cake ala the kids
{it was delish!}

We took a trip to California this summer....
{the kids at Stanford}

A high school graduation requirement is to job shadow a professional in your field of choice
{my girl had the awesome opportunity to shadow 2 Research Assistants at a Seattle biotech company}

Here are some layouts I managed to sling out in 2012:

My Girl
{picture taken by my boy}

the american dream
{about my Momma...on the right in the pic...she sailed from Japan to the US}

Pike Place Market
{a field trip when the kids were much younger...11 years ago}

Same picture but different feel
{yup, it's the same pic but scrapped totally different}

There you have it...I love to take pictures and I love to scrapbook but:

1. I forget to take pictures
2. I love the instant gratification of card making...scrapbooking takes me for-ever!

How about you?

Some good news will be posting today...watch for it
It's been posted...check it out HERE.

I'll be back at 9 pm pacific for a fun 'lil hop...you won't want to miss it!

Beautiful, Amy! You have a lovely family. :-) I love your scrapbooking style. I don't scrapbook - the size is just too daunting for me! Maybe one day. Wishing big things for the college choices coming in for your daughter!

Beautiful. Your son and daughter are absolutely gorgeous! And such an exciting year...I'll have a hard time when my oldest is graduating as well.

I'm with you...used to be a scrapbooker...I take lots of pictures and I do scrapbook them, but I've moved to Project Life to keep it simple. I LOVE making cards!

Absolutely love all your layouts and photos Amy. I think in 2013 you should definitely scrapbook more. I love photos and scrapbooking, but never remember to take the photo as well. I am getting better at it though.

thanks for the peek into your life. I love that American Dream lo! very cool in many ways. I love to scrapbook too and you are right, there's more instant gratification with the cards. Jan and Feb are big scrapbook months for me. The push of the holidays and the start of a new year urges me to try to scrap memories of the prior year (and the years before)

I love your scrapbooking style! It's a reflection of your cardmaking one! :D

I do hope you create more layouts cos they are gorgeous!

I had the same feeling when I first started thinking about scrapbooking.. that the size is daunting but I guess I have overcame it now. I enjoy the size and if I feel not up to it, there's always cardmaking and mini albums or 8.5x11 layouts :D

Love you!
Happy New Year, darling!

I can so relate, Amy........my son will be graduating this year, and I am already a mess. I'm just going to miss him soooooo much, I can hardly stand to think about it. But here's to hoping that 2013 will be the best year ever, for everyone!
Love all your scrappy pages! I need to try to make more this next year, too. :)

Your family is beautiful! I love the Pacific coastline from my neck of the woods, up to yours and just a bit farther towards Vancouver & surrounding areas. Its rustic and rugged and fresh and gorgeous. Love it.

I've got Loads of pics waiting to be scrapped. I've been using Project Life for the last few years, but have several albums started with traditional scrapping. One day, I'll go back to those traditional albums and get back to the more creative scrapping with my gazillion supplies, but for now, at least I'm getting some pics into albums.

Happy New Year....New Year's Eve!! :>
All so good! What more can I say. Such a great feel with CAS.
I am with you on the photos. The camera is the last thing I think of most of the time when we leave the house. OR I am prepared and then too busy to take pics. I am determined to do more scrapbooking this year AND I have a local friend who wants to scrapbook together.

Love these. I love to scrapbook, but have also been caught up in the web of getting it done in less than 3 days (usually cards only take me 2 days;-) I sometime choose to live in the moment instead of focusing on creating a way to remember that moment. I am amazed at those who photograph so much of their lives. Thanks for sharing and a very happy 2013 to you and yours!
1) I take too many photos, 2) I like instant gratification and 3) the whole process seems to overwhleming... must try a mini book or something.

Such amazing & awesome photos!
I don't always remember to take photos, but here's the thing - if you spend all your time behind a camera, you aren't really participating in the memory-making, are you? So I collect memories & only a few pictures :)
