Here's how the colors inspired me:

This is sadly my last challenge with The Play Date Cafe.  I've had an incredible time working with Julie and the Design Team.  This particular DT was one of my most fulfilling because it challenged me to stretch my imagination.  I'm primarily a sketch girl so The Play Date Cafe definitely sparked my crafting:)

I thought I'd recap my top 3 The Play Date Cafe Challenges:

A Big Shout out to Julie...This is the 3rd Design Team that we've been on together...thanks so much for the invite to be a Private Blend Designer!

As always, I'm looking forward to seeing how this week's colors inspire YOU.

EAD Designs Farewell Blog Hop...

Happy Halloween!

Welcome to the very last EAD Designs Blog Hop!
{it officially starts at 7 am pacific}

I can't believe that today is the day.  I'm super bummed but totally wish Emily all the best in her future endeavors!

You should have arrived from the EAD Designs blog, if not that's where you'll want to start!  Remember to leave comments as you hop to win some EAD goodies!

I had a really hard time deciding which EAD Designs products to use so I went with a new-to-me owlie:

Isn't he adorable?

I teamed him up with a Hello sentiment Stickerz.

I want to give a big shout out to Emily and all the inspiration she has brought to me...I have truly loved working with EAD Designs.  I have always been a big fan and I'm so thankful for being able to be a part of the Design Team for over 2 years.

Before I get all sappy I better get going....

My card was inspired by the {expired}

Okay, now hippety hop over to Jenn's

EAD Designs Blog Hop: Fa la la la la la la la la

Happy Monday!

Thanks for joining us in the very last scheduled Monday EAD Designs Blog Hop!
{it officially starts at 7 am pacific}

You should have arrived here from super Shellye's blog

If not, you'll want to start at the beginning of the hop which is the EAD Designs blog.  We're giving away freebies, to be eligible, just leave a comment as you hop along.

I tried to use as many different EAD Designs stickerz sets on my card...I was able to use three:

The Journal Card, Christmas Sentiments and Garden Gnome.

Pretty proud of myself for using a non-holiday image for a holiday card.  Can't you just imagine that gnomie singing in his gnomie voice?  People either think Gnomes are cute {I think they are!} or they think they are scary....kind of like clowns.

Anywho's, all that EAD Design goodness is piled onto A Muse Studio patterned paper...btw, I'm in search of drapery panels in this pattern but in PTI's New Leaf color...anybody  know of a source?

Okay, that's it for me...we'll be back again on Wednesday, October 31st for the EAD Designs Good Bye Hop!

Now hippety hop over to Jenn's fabulous blog

**Garage Sale**

You might remember me mentioning having a Garage Sale yesterday.

I had a $200 sales goal...the weather definitely did NOT cooperate with me...unfortunately, it was cold and rainy.  I had some diehard garage salers stop by and even some repeat customers.  I'll just say that I made more than 50% of my sales goal and it was a LONG 5 hours.

I took a quick powernap and then met up with my friends for Glass Blowing...

I thought I'd share a couple pictures:

I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  I've always wanted to try Glass Blowing out.  We each picked a project to make and then picked the colors that we wanted.  I upgraded my project to a 'larger' pumpkin.  Although it might sound boring I decided on a clear pumpkin with the stem being a metallic coppery color.

A big shout out to our friend Christina that so kindly put together the event for us...gotta love Groupons!

In case you're going to ask, we did the actual Glass Blowing...and I was able to help shape the glass but the professionals did everything else....

new nest

TGIF!!!!

I'm poppin' in here speedy quick to share a little project:

This was something that was shared during the original Get Trendy Now workshop.  Our challenge was to use woodgrain.  I altered a bar of fancy smancy soap that I picked up at Whole Foods.   All the paper and stickers are by My Little Shoebox.  Did you notice the snazzy green stitching...so those of you that don't know...green is my FAV color!

Any big plans for the weekend?

I'm having my Garage Sale tomorrow.  Hoping to clear out a bunch of stuff and hope to be organized.  It's actually Wednesday evening as I type this up and at this point, I'm so not organized but I do much better under pressure {wink}.  After the garage sale I'm meeting up with a bunch of my friends and we're Glass Blowing!  I'm soooooooo excited!!!!!

We have a super Guestie joining us this week....Can you Guess who it is?  It's THEE Paper Crafts Go-To Gal, Teri Anderson!!!

I played with

Keeping in mind that the colors are

m  i  n  t   g  o  l  d    l  e  a  t  h  e  r

I hit gold when I found a sheet of mint cardstock....I don't dabble in mint but my daughter picked some up for a project she worked on last year:

The sentiment has been heat embossed in gold...LOVE that look on the mint.  You can't tell by the picture but the steam has been heat embossed with Psychedelic embossing powder...it has some nice glitz to it.

On a sad note, this will be Ruby McGuire of Ruby 2 Shoes last challenge with The Play Date Cafe!  We wish her all the success in her new journeys!

I can't wait to see how you're inspired by the colors this week!

hello

looking for the 100 Proof Press/Faber-Castell blog hop...click HERE.

Happy Tuesday!

I have a clean & crisp card for you!

I love the look of embossing...especially when there is a huge contrast:

I made this card for a new gal that started in our department yesterday.  Since I didn't know what she likes, I kept it pretty neutral.  Don't you love that feltie star?  That would be Spanish Wool Felt from thee Lorena Canto...

I'm guessing that you'll see this design alot...you can easily change up the feltie shape to create a whole new look....heart....bloom....

I was inspired by the latest

That woodgrain circle is from the Hero Arts/Studio Calico set My Happy.

The Hello sentiment is PTI. The cardbase is from my bloggie buddy Sherry....thanks Sherry!

I've been loving the ombre trend....

The Faber-Castell Aquarelles make it so easy to achieve the look.  It's amazing how vibrant the colors become once water hits them.

I was trying to give Little Squirrel Girl a more artsy look but may have gone a smidge overboard with her blush?  I kind of like the bold color and decided to bring it out even more with the Simple Stories raspberry patterned panel.  The yellow stripes = washi!

100 Proof Press has 2013 calendars in stock!  What awesome gifties!!!!

Now hippety off to Rita's blog

EAD Designs: thanks for your kindness

Hello and Welcome to the EAD Designs Blog Hop!
{it officially starts at 7 am pacific}

You should have arrived here from the Spectacular Shellye's blog

If not, you'll want to start at the beginning of the hop which is the EAD Designs blog.

We're still doing give-a-ways!  Comment as you hop along for a chance to win free goodies!!!!

I gotta be honest, as the days get closer to when EAD Designs closes, it makes me sad:(  But since I don't want to be a negative nellie, let's move on, shall we?!

I'm thankful for a ton of people...especially people that help my kids out.

One of the requirements to graduate at the kids' school is to job shadow a person in the profession of their choice.  My girl is leaning towards being a biologist {Proud Momma here!}...so my friend put her in contact with a Staff Scientist and Research Assistant at a Seattle Biotech company.  I'm SUPER excited for my girl to be able to experience her first job shadowing!

I made this for my friend as a little thank you giftie...it's from the T $ Spot that I slightly altered.

Originally the notepad had fuchsia grosgrain ribbon on the top {it looked horrible} so I removed it...put a strip of cork inbetween the punched circles and used The Twinery's Mandarin.

I popped an Aqua mist belly band on there and embellished it with EAD Stickerz:

Coffee shop

Thank you sentiments

The orange sticker is actually from the T $ spot.  The inked coffee stains are ala Verve Stamps.  I'll be packaging the notepad up with a Starbucks card {of course!}...

Now hippety hop over to Jenn's
