Timeless Twine: what's all the hoopla?

Hello!

Today is my day over on the Timeless Twine blog!

I can't believe my time with them is coming to an end.  December is my last month as a Design Team member over at Timeless Twine.

I'm trying to think outside of the box for my last couple of projects, I have to tell you, today's project has to be the most expensive and time invested project that I've ever done.  More about that in a smidge, check out my project first:

I love all the hoop art out there!

The possibilities are endless!

I used my stash of Jolee's and Prima felt blooms.

The "Love" has been hand stitched using Timeless Twine Natural.

I used an Amy Tangerine template as my guide.

Timeless Twine

I'm a flower girl, have tons of them BUT don't tend to use them on my projects.  So when I saw this beauty, I was inspired!  Then I saw this project and knew that I wanted to combine the inspirations!

I went to Ben Franklin to buy a small wreath that I could alter and add prima blooms and felt leaves.  Um, almost $100 later, I  came away with a wreath that expanded over 12 inches.  I thought, I can do it.  I have a skein of white yarn that one of the kids bought for a school project and used a couple inches.

I basically quit winding the yarn around that ginormous wreath after 30 seconds (if even that long!)...yes, I'm a quitter.

So then I was on a mission to use felt blooms but make my own green felt leaves.

Where.is.my.felt?

If you follow me on FB, it was a huge ordeal for me to look for my supply of felt and in the end, I ended up buying green felt at Impress.

So, in all honesty, after that massive hoopla about the green felt, I didn't even use it!

sigh.

BUT, I can honestly say that I love how my project turned out.  Gray is my Favorite color...it's a staple in my wardrobe.

If you made it all the way down to here, you are a rock star!  I'd love for you to pop over to the Timeless Twine blog and say Hello!

Project is awesome, Amy, love those flowers for sure! Getting caught up this morning, it's tough on the weekends. Yes, I was lucky to be able to post as our weather has been more like Colorado the past week....loving it, actually, all except the power outage! Have a wonderful Monday!

Hmmm, no green felt was harmed in the creation of this bit of lovely home decor, but the leaves you used instead look wonderful behind those pretty grey primas. A beautiful project, Amy!!!

Love how your project turned out after everything that went into getting it ready to make.
I thought you made the blooms with the felt you were looking for.

Haha, sounds like some of my projects, too, Amy! You get an idea in your head that just doesn't quite translate once you attempt it. But I have to say, after all that time and expense getting started, I really LOVE how your hoop turned out! So sweet and serene. LOVING the gray flowers and love the stitched natural twine. Just gorgeous. And I'm right there with you...pretty much every article of clothing I have these days is gray! ;)

What a post!

First off when I saw this I fell in love! I got all excited, Amy found her felt! Than how did she make those flowers? I am going to ask her! I got all excited! Than she didn't?

I love this hoop, I've actually been planning to make a hoop in the new year. Right now I am quite busy.

His dud you spend $100 on supplies for a wreath? You bought other stuff?

And lol to being over the wrapping! I do t do it sitting at home, I do it while waiting at swimming lessons, gymnastics and that stuff. When hubby is driving I get lots done in traffic! I can't stand wasted time!

Loved this post!

Those blooms are gorgeous! Sometimes creation takes a lot of money and is circuitous, but I do LOVE this project....it is appropriately sentimented!

This is a beautiful project! I've so done that as well when I had something in mind and tried to execute. Sometimes the best projects come out of complete chaos!

Love your post; love your hoop; love knowing that I'm not the only one who embarks on "expensive' projects. You've made my day sparkle!

UR hilarious! I thought you were going to say you started with burlap and pulled out every other string to make burlap cross stitch material! This is so darn sweet and those gray blooms take it up to gorgeous.

My word! I came here to see what the details were all about. Sounds like me on some days...been there! Your hoop project looks awesome! Save the yarn for something else...not winding. Not sure what the wreath is made of but I am sure you will find a use for that also. Great job on your project.
