Paper Smooches Guest Designer: there's snow one like you shaker!

post 1 of 2 for today...click HERE for my Chickaniddy Crafts project!

It's week 3 of my time as the Guest Designer for Paper Smooches!

I'm sharing one of my cards that I made for this week:

Gah, that little snowgirl is so cute!  She is from the Cool Dudes set and she makes me smile everytime I see her!

So, I love this whole mixed media stuff but I generally don't do much in that style.  This is as mixed media as I get.  I really am more of a clean & simple designer {you can still achieve clean & simple with layers, colors & patterns, right?!}.

I'm a big fan of using Strathmore watercolor paper.   That's what my base is.  I loaded it up with water and used my Fireworks inks in Bahama Blue & Bamboo.

Do you see the white 'snowballs'?!

I used the circular shapes in the Cute Fruit set!

They've been stamped and heat embossed in white on top of the inky goodness.

I stamped the snowgirl and the sentiment on a vellum panel and heat embossed in black.  The girl has been colored with copics on the opposite side of the vellum.

I tossed in some super sweet heart sequins that magically coordinated with the snowgirl!

Can you tell that I used gold thread to stitch on the vellum panel and create a fun shaker card?

Whaddya think?!

I'd love for you to pop over to the Paper Smooches blog to see my other card that I created...it's very much clean & crisp!

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!

Well done stepping out of your comfort zone!! This is super gorgeous and love that little snowgirl. LOVE the gold thread you used (you can never have enough gold...) and that you used vellum for a shaker card. I've never tried this idea, must give it a go when I can work out where my sewing machine is hiding.....

That snowgal is just too cute! I love the watercolouring - the vellum layer over top just accents it so perfectly - and the hearts? Squee!
