I used one of my FAVORITE

CAS-ual Fridays sets

It seriously cracks me up every single time I ink it up.  What's even more funny?  I don't swear...seriously.  Okay, perhaps when I drive and play video games...LOL.

That polka panel?

vintage Amy Butler.

I wish she would design for the paper crafting industry again!  Her sense of color and pattern is truly amazing.

I simply stamped the sentiment on a journaling card die cut and attached the Jolee's felt bloom...it's almost a peace offering for forgetting someone's birthday!

I can't wait to see how you're inspired!

Post 2 of 2 for me...click HERE for my Top Dog post.

Hello & Big Birthday wishes to my Momma!

I'm so excited to be this week's guest designer over at CAS(E) this sketch!

Here's the super fun sketch:

Here's how it inspired me:

My card is 4.25 x 4.25.

I'm simply IN LOVE with Pink Paislee's Color Wash Collection!  Isn't that base panel awesome?

All the stamps I used are by Neat & Tangled

Sparkle and Shine
You + Me

They have been heat embossed with White Zing.  The sequins?  Yup, Neat & Tangled also!

I colored the diamond on the back side of the vellum.  I used Copic RV04/Shock Pink.

I can't wait to see how the CTS Design Team was inspired by this awesome sketch!

I hope that you'll play along!

artful delight: //yeah, sure//

I'm back with my last post for february using the Artful Delight card kit:

I went graffiti style again...loving the free flow/form of this card!  See that star and arrow panel?  It comes pre die cut like that...isn't that fun?  The '//yeah, sure//' was pre-printed on that panel...way.too.fun!

I used 3 different papers and the wood veneer...all from the kit!

I thought I would share my other February projects:

Just a reminder about the 50% off sale over in the shop.  Super Sad that Artful Delight is closing but totally understand.

Papertrey Ink blog hop/Seize the Sketch 14: celebrate

this is post 2 of 2 for me today...please click HERE for my Girl Friday news!

Hello!

This is a multi-tasking post...I'm combining the

with

First up is my card:

The color are inspired by the PTI photo.  I love working with the springy colors!

cardstock:  white/aqua mist papertrey ink
base panel:  lily bee persnickety
stamps:  papertrey ink Think Big #15/Heart-2-Heart #1
ink:  Hero Hues black, Zing/white
other:  papertrey ink doily die, lawn fawn journal die, Impress green wool felt

I made this especially for my Momma...her birthday is Thursday.  She's a Starbucks-a-holic like me!

Check out that coffee cozy...I FINALLY used that awesome die by papertrey ink!

aqua mist =

I combined the aqua mist felt with some other felt that I picked up from Impress.  Here's a close up:

The leaves, they are free form cut.  I decided to do some stitching on them and like the results!  Aren't those papertrey ink notched flowers...awesome.  I don't know why I don't use them more.  Love the added detail of the heart tab on the sleeve.

Really excited about how this duo turned out.  I'm sure my Momma will love it since it'll come with a Starbucks card!

I hope you'll join us over at Seize the Sketch and I can't see the other springtime projects over on PTI!

Yeppers, that's ME!

You should have arrived here from the CAS-ual Fridays blog, if not, you'll want to pop over there.  There's FUN and prizes!

Michelle has a list of questions that I get to answer:

1. How long have you been a cardmaker, and how were you first introduced to it?
I've been a cardmaker for years before I even discovered Splitcoast in 2005 or started my blog in 2007.  Officially though, I'm guessing about 2002, my first Stampin' Up party.  I never would have imagined the friends I would make {and continue to make}, the hours of fun, my love of blogging...the list goes on and on!

2. What color are your toenails painted right now?
OPI AmazON...AmazOFF

3. If your family locked up your crafty supplies for an entire month, what would you do instead?
I'm planning on taking up knitting and quilting one day so I'd start that up:)  If I had to pick something non-crafty, I'd start reading again!

4. Favorite thing to order at Starbucks:
Grande.Latte.Soy.No Foam

5. You've reached your destination but just as you are turning your car off, a song comes on the radio and you are sooo happy to hear it that you sit in your car until it's over (singing along is optional *wink*). Name that song:

Old School:  September

Avocado Arts: Mr. & Mrs.

Happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing my final project I made using the Avocado Arts February Release.

I don't remember if I posted this photo on my blog but what I did for this month is use the Lawn Fawn journal die as my base.   Wouldn't these be fun to use for Project Life/Pocket Scrapbooking?

I took that journal card and mounted it onto a A2 card base with foam adhesive:

Super duper easy smeasy...chalkboard style!

I heat embossed the Mr. & Mrs. in white Zing embossing powder and smeared white ink on the journal card with a dry baby wipe!

I know a couple people that are getting married and I love the classic black & white!

A super BUSY week on my blog so stay tuned!

rainbows & unicorns

Sunday, already?

I've had the past week off from work and I've thoroughly enjoyed the time off.  For those that know me, you'll be happy to know that I did a lot of catching up on my sleep!

Here's a clean & simple card:

The Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After is a newly adopted set for me.  I totally bought it for the dragon and unicorn.  This card is for my girl's upcoming birthday.  I can't believe I have an almost 19 year old.

When did that happen?

I have a bunch of sets that I've recently acquired so I'm glad this one got some .

Although this card looks easy smeasy, it went through a couple different photo shoots & transformations.

sheesh, check out how much of a BAM that glitter tape is in my final card compared to this one:

I actually re-copic'd the image too...did the T1/Toner Gray, a smidge darker because the photography wasn't picking it up.

It also went through a couple backdrop changes.  Put that all together and it was time consuming but I like it better!

This will be one of many cards that the girl will get.  Thinking of doing a 19 day count down if I can get my act in gear!

Just a reminder about the on-going sale over at

They are sadly closing up shop.

Everything is 50% off, use coupon code AD2014 at check-out.

can't touch this.

Happy Saturday!

So, I literally made this card this morning, totally inspired by Chrissy, see her card HERE on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog.

Aha, are you singin' it?!

Listen to it HERE.

Why yes, it's playin' in the background now...LOL.

I'm sending this to a friend that will totally chuckle...she's not much of a Kawaii girl so I left off the facial features.  I tell you, those Sweet Stamp Shop images have something for everyone!

I've been really enjoying my Fabriano cards...they have been packed away for so long but with my current obsession of my Distress Stains, they are coming in handy.

...and such an easy image to mask!

How did I watercolor it?

I  'daub' the distress inks on an acrylic stamp block.  I pick up the ink with a paint brush saturated with water and simply paint.

Distress Stains:
crushed olive
broken china
tea dye

My black ink of choice:
memento tuxedo

Seriously, what's not to love about the new

Sweet Stamp Shop

It was so HOT the shop is sold out...no worries though, it's on pre-order basis, get your order in today!
edited to add:  just heard from Mrs. Sweet, it's back in stock!

Any fun plans today?

Busy day for me...picking up the girl this morning, having a coffee date with some friends and then we're taking out my Momma for an early Birthday Dinner {Dinner #2 of 3..spoiled woman!}.

Lil' Inker Designs is the sponsor for Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Cozy Quilt
!   The LEAD of the challenge will receive a $30 gift certificate to spend at the Lil' Inker Designs store.

Seriously LOVIN' the Lil' Inker Designs Circles & Diamonds Stitched Pattern Die!

Here's a close up shot:

I used another one of my trusty cork circles (remember, they are for furniture feet!) and stamped the hi in Hero Hues.  I like the look of the cork to enhance the circle pattern on the pink panel.  As a way to even out the cork, I added my own cork dots {use my chomper}.

Isn't the Basic Grey Fresh Cuts collection so fun?  Thanks to Kimberly for the 6x6'er and to Sherry for the bloom!

I was inspired my Mojo Monday

Be sure to check out the Curtain Call blog for more Cozy Quilt inspiration!!!

Top Dog Dies: thank you

Today is my  Top Dog Dies Day!

I am featuring the Top Dog Dies Wildflower Die:

This is such a pretty & oh-so-delicate looking die cut, don't you agree?  I decided against adding any other details to the wildflower.

I went monochromatic in my overall design on this wee 3 x 3 inch card.  I received the card base and coordinating envelope as a RAK from my bloggie friend Kimberly.  I added a cork panel, which she also RAK'd to me (thanks Kimberly!).  The 1/8 inch glue dots are my best friend, I use them for sequins (thanks for that tip Heather!) and anything else that is petite.

The sentiment is a discontinued EAD Stickerz.  It's a great way to finish off my CAS design.

happy birthday!

Yes, I am LOVING the February Artful Delight card kit:

It's not necessarily a color palette I gravitate towards but with my new found love of watercolors, I'm super digging it.

I don't feel like I have the prima bloom knowledge but isn't that one sweet on the belly band?  The color wash that it has is perfect for all the wonderful papers in the kit.  I splashed the center panel with the heidi swapp color shine.

The Paper Smooches sentiment is one of two Paper Smooches sets that comes in the kit!  Can you believe it?!  The ink, Hero Hues, is my new black favorite that came in the December kit.

I was inspired by Laura's

I'm sure I'm one of many to be thrilled that Laura is back sketching, creating and blogging!
