Avocado Arts: strength

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

I'm popping in real quick to share the rest of my Avocado Arts cards for the April release:

This card uses both of the April sets, A Mother's Love and When & Where:

Love that journal card from the When & Where set!  It's super versatile and a 'must have'.  I heat embossed the strength bloom in Paper Source Picante {my new FAV}...it adds such a nice POP of color and texture.

Next up is a clean and simple design:

Yup, I used that journal card.  This time I made it look like notebook paper.  I like to combine the new release stamps with an older set.  This month I used the bicycle and sentiment from Stuck on You.

Make sure you pop over to the Avocado Arts blog for tons of eye candy.  The design team is simply rockin' this month's release!

Seize the Sketch #19: birthday girl

We're back with

The awesome Jessi is the sketcher for this super challenge!

Initially I struggled with the sketch...not because of the sketch itself, but I was desperately trying to use pattern papers.  That combined with the fact that I was 'crafting' with 4 other gals, nothing ever gets accomplished :)

So this card was totally inspired by Dawn McVey.  That girl rocks the PTI color combos, eh?  The cardstock is PTI but I don't have any PTI inks so I substituted with Fresh Inks:

Pool
Mojito

Yes, this is the first time I'm using the Phrase Play #3, but hey, at least it is getting some ♥♥♥!

Do you see the faint Pool outline around the Ruby Reprise blooms (thanks Kimberly!)?  It's actually a trick that I learned from Michelle of Avocado Arts.  I flipped the blooms over and slapped them on my stamp block and inked on top of the Mojito with Pool ink!

I can't wait to see how you're inspired!

I hope that you'll play along with us!

wishing you brighter days.

I've been crafty shopping, alot.  I may have a slight backlog of new goodies that haven't been given my crafty attention so I'm hoping this week will be the filled with that.

I picked up a lot of the newest Avery Elle sets from their last release.

As a Washingtonian, I needed the Weather It set!

The Green paper is Crate and the rest is Studio Calico HeyDay.

I'm playing along with the AEI♥U Color Combo Challenge:

Although this is technically my post for Sunday, I need to post it earlier so that I can link up to the challenge!

Do you see the white embossed hearts above the sentiment?

The Hero Arts Heart Brad is from thee Lisa Spangler.

Isn't the color combo pretty?  Truthfully I find color challenges, well, a challenge.  Luckily I have a vast supply of patterned paper:)

edited to add that I'm linking up to

Did you hear about Pretty Pink Posh's Sequin Shaker Blog Hop?

I've had the opportunity to meet up with Paulina a couple times.  It's the perks of living in the same city/state!

Did you see my shaker card from yesterday?  I did the same concept but doesn't it look totally different?

I used my Simon Says Stamp May kit {new subscriber!}...all the papers are from the kit.

I gotta tell you, I was graciously RAK'd the Lil Inkers Coffee Cozy by Eileen.  She's not a blogger yet, but I'm encouraging her to start the journey.  Thanks so much for the stamps Eileen!!!

Top Dog Dies has teamed up with Pretty Pink Posh for a fun blog hop!  This is the pre-party function to get you sequin-y for another hop that happens tomorrow, and Top Dog Dies is one of the sponsors!

You should have arrived here from the Top Dog Dies blog!

If you get lost along the way, here's a listing of all the hoppers:

I'm super excited to show you the projects I made using the following fun Pretty Pink Posh supplies:

I'm a big fan of using vellum with sequins!

Both of my cards use paper from the Authentique Anchored collection.  I think it makes the sequins POP, don't you?  I placed the star strip on the vellum envelope and stitched it down using a zig zag.  It adds fun texture to the overall design.

Everything is nestled onto a Top Dog Dies Bella Doily Die.

That's it for me!  Thanks to Pretty Pink Posh for the fun goodies!

Now hippety hop over to Amy Wanford's blog!

Embroidery...love the look, don't you?

This is as close to embroidery as I get:

It's a shaped card!  It's a petite 3.5 inches in diameter.  I'm going to search for a round frame to pop it into.

I love working with felt!  Today's project combines Aqua Mist & Raspberry Fizz.  The green felt is from Impress.

I die cut the Notched Flowers:

My tag is actually a Top Dog Dies Exclusive, it's from the Mini Tags Die Set.

I heat embossed the Friend sentiment from Wet Paint:

I can't wait to see how everybody is inspired by this month's challenge!

Top Dog Dies: let's do this

Have you hopped with us yet?

The fun starts at the Top Dog Dies blog but here's the hop listing in case you get lost along the way!

I still have plenty of supplies left from my Scrapbook Circle kit to make another card!

Don't you love the black and aqua combo?

I'm such a fan of shaped cards and the Exclusive Top Dog Dies, Signature Antique Die, makes it quick and easy.  I just die cut 2 panels of paper and then trimmed the patterned panel so that you can see the solid black underneath.

The woodgrain heart looks like veneer but it is paper in the kit.  I used the Top Dog Dies Camera Finishers Die Set.

The fun Studio Calico Word Stickers are a great way to incorporate a sentiment into the design.

My card was inspired by the current

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!
