Chickaniddy Crafts: Santa Claus is coming to Town

So a couple weeks ago I was up on the Chickaniddy Crafts blog.  Check out my fun supplies:

The Jolly Good Collection makes me a happy crafter!  I altered a hinged tin with it.

All the supplies are by Chickaniddy Crafts with the exception of the ink and the twine.

paper:  chickaniddy crafts/jolly good collection  twine:  divine twine  other:  papertrey ink vellum

I used a sticker to close the wax paper liner:

These have to be the easiest Peanut Butter Cookies to make!

Who doesn't love cookies?!  I wasn't introduced to Peanut Butter until I was in High School.

This is when I reveal that I'm really not much of a cooker/baker.  There are several dishes that I cook, including Yellow Curry and Spinach Lasagna but the kids are the bakers in the household.

This particular Peanut Butter recipe is ultra-simple...3 ingredients:

1 c. Peanut Butter
1 c. Sugar
1 egg

Mix well {I use less than 1 cup of sugar}.  Roll into balls and place on lightly greased cookie sheet.  Using a fork, flatten each ball.

Cook at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

I couldn't believe all the snow we received yesterday.  Okay, so it wasn't feet of the stuff but for Washington State, it was enough.  I've been really horrid about taking pictures but there was 6 of us that got together to craft -n- chat including Vicki Dutcher!  In true crafty form, we all chatted and laughed for several hours.  I'll have to hijack pictures from some of the other girls (KimberlyKateKatieTonya) but we had a ton of fun.  We missed Lisa, Toni & Amber!

The other day I decided to focus on the Fancy Pants Designs - Oh, Deer collection.

All the supplies are from that collection along with gorgeous gold glitter washi from Impress.

I was inspired by the Sketch Challenge over at

ho.ho.ho.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Are you ready for the feast?  We have the prep down, Darin cooks the turkey and the ham.  My momma brings the pumpkin pie.  The kids baked pumpkin spice cupcakes and I do the rest.  I definitely have the easy job!

I was absolutely inspired by THIS Savvy card.  Here it is ala Amy:

cardstock:  papertrey ink kraft, recollections white, cherry wood veneer  stamps:  reverse confetti/tinsel 'n trim, sweet stamp shop/monogram it  ink:  hero arts hues  other:  savvy stamps/deer head die, pretty pink posh/stitched duo 2 die, stickles dry glitter

I did a whole lotta die cutting with that awesome Savvy Deer Head.

The one on the left is with cherry wood veneer paper and a Reverse Confetti sentiment from Tinsel 'N Trim.  The one on the right...well, that uses Stickles Dry Glitter.   One word:  glorious

I removed the deer head from the panel and backed the negative space with scor-tape and then literally filled it up with the Dry Glitter.  I used Pretty Pink Posh's Stitch Duo 2.  The sentiment is from the now retired Sweet Stamp Shop Monogram it set.

I managed to make a total of 12 cards using this design.  Love the 3.5 x 5.5 inch size.

paper smooches: warm wishes

post 2 of 2 for today...click HERE for my Neat & Tangled post

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

So, I can't believe this is the last Wednesday in the month of November.  That means it is my last day as the Paper Smooches Guest Designer.

Before I share one of my projects, I wanted to give a big shout out to the lovely Kim Hughes!  Talk about one of thee sweetest people in the crafting community...she's most fabulous.  I wanted to thank her for this awesome month, truly on my bucket list.

So I made 2 projects here's a peek at one of them:

cardstock:  papertrey ink/kraft  paper:  mme  stamps:  paper smooches/cool dudes & hot concoctions  ink:  memento tuxedo, fresh ink/mojito, copics  other:  mini 4 oz coffee cup, paper smooches/cool dudes dies & gift tags 2 dies,  divine twine/solid white

Okay, now how cute is that mini to-go cup?!  It's a mere 4 oz. and certainly packs a punch, eh?  We all know that good things come in small packages:)  A big shout out to Tonya for RAKing me with some of these sweet things.

I wanted to make that cutie pie from Cool Dudes the star of the show!  I used the smallest tag in the Gift Tags 2 set and stamped it with a sentiment from Hot Concoctions.  The snowflakes are from Cool Dudes.

These little cups would be adorable filled up with kisses or any other chocolate.

Make sure you pop over to the Paper Smooches blog for my other project I designed!

I have both my kids home with me...makes me a happy Momma.   We're plotting our Black Friday plans since it is a tradition with the 3 of us.  Who is going out shopping on Black Friday?

papertrey ink blog hop: hello friend.

It's that time of the month for the

I was inspired to use some, new to me, goodies...

Shape Up Series:  Snowman

cardstock:  papertrey ink kraft/hawaiian shores  stamps: papertrey ink/shape up snowman acessories & wet paint  ink:  hero arts hues, zing/white, impress fresh ink grapefruit/chocolate  other:  papertrey ink/shape up series:  snowman die, paperchase wood veneer, studio calico wood veneer, divine twine solid teal

I made a total of 5 of these cute snowmen!  I'm smitten with the kraft/aqua combo these days.  The pom pom on the hat is fun foam.

If you've been following my blog or on Facebook, I'm in mass production mode for holiday cards.  Last Saturday I realized that I needed to make at least 70 more cards.  I've almost reached my goal!   Yesterday I made 23 cards...23 cards.  Here's the thing, I had fun making them!

Looking forward to being inspired by everyone in the hop!

Squirrelfest 2014: you are one of a kind

Squirrel!!

I tell you, cracks me up every time.

cardstock:  mft steel grey, recollections white, papertrey ink vellum  stamps:  sweet stamp shop/cheeky & easily distracted, paper smooches fresh snow  ink:  black zing, copics  other:  mama elephant basic set/creative cuts, gold thread, studio calico woodgrain sequin stars, gold thread

The squirrel and squirrel sentiment are (retired) Sweet Stamp Shop, I know...I wish they weren't retired!  The "You are one of a kind" is Paper Smooches.

I made a faux shaker.  Why faux?  I love vellum and I love heat embossing vellum but man, that stuff goes, well, squirrely.  I didn't want to stitch down all four sides so I opt'd for the top & bottom, with gold thread.

I'm playing along with Emily's Squirrelfest Challenge!

Here are today's Christmas Cards:

cardstock:  papertrey ink black paper:  prima/coffee break  stamps:  neat & tangled/warm wishes  ink:  zing/white  other:  neat & tangled a lot to say nice & neat die

I tell you, Neat & Tangled's Warm Wishes was MADE for that A Lot to Say die, dontcha think?  The patterned paper....Prima Coffee Break from Butterfly Reflections Ink!

I literally made all 3 cards this morning since I was up at 2:30!

Sunday, November 23, 2014

baby, it's cold outside

Adding 2 more cards to my Christmas card pile...

cardbase:  american crafts  cardstock:  stampin' up cherry cobbler/pretty in pink  stamps:  reverse confetti/seasonal sentiments  ink:  gold embossing powder, wplus9 white  other: japanese book, dcwv cork

I actually started with a completely different design, worked on it much too long and it ended up in the recycle bin.  Don't you hate it when that happens?

I've had that MFT Poinsettia die set since last year but never used it.  I'm definitely going to make more cards using that die, I really love the detail work on the leaves.  On the pink version, I inked up the leaves with white ink to soften the color.

Yup, still having fun with the japanese book pages.

This week I'm only working on Tuesday...yahooo!

you warm my ♡

So, I'm kind of shocked that Thanksgiving is less than a week away.  Where has the time gone?  In true form, I'm freaking out that I don't have very many holiday cards in my stash.  Every year I tell myself to join in more of the holiday card challenges, next year, for sure (wink).  I'm about 70 cards short of what I'd like to have so I'm going to be working in multiples.

Here's one of today's cards:

cardstock:  papertrey ink kraft, mft steel grey, recollections white, stampin' up cherry cobbler  stamps:  mft perk up  ink:  Wplus9 white, zing/white other:  stampin' up baked brown sugar twine, mft dienamics tag builder blueprints 2, teresa collins star sequin

So I'm feelin' that grey is the new black.

Lovin' the MFT Steel Grey cardstock as the base.

The red circle on the star sequin is from the tag die :)

I was inspired by

I get tired of repetition but can usually manage with about 3-5 of one design:

cardstock:  papertrey ink kraft, mft steel grey, recollections white, stampin' up cherry cobbler  stamps:  mft perk up  ink:  Wplus9 white, zing/white other:  stampin' up baked brown sugar twine, mft dienamics coffee cup

I basically used the same color palette as my first card but needed to make some with the coffee cup dies.

I'm getting ready to go have coffee with 2 of my dear friends.

Before I go, don't forget about the
