Pink Power Blog Hop!

post 2 of 2 for today...click here for Reverse Confetti's SFYTT

Chaitali has rounded up some of her crafty friends to help spread Breast Cancer awareness. This is a cause close to her heart because she lost her mom to it earlier this year.

You should have arrived here from Chaitali's blog. If not, you'll want to start there!

Every year, more than 180,000 American women are diagnosed with breast cancer. It is the most common cancer in women and the second-most deadly (lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer deaths in women). But in spite of these sobering statistics, there is every reason for hope. In scientific studies, annual screening mammography in women age 40 and older has reduced the death rate from breast cancer. In addition, advanced diagnostic tests and newer, more effective treatment options are making it possible for more and more women to survive this disease.

Sadly, I think we all know at least one person that has been effected by breast cancer.  My Aunt passed away from complications of breast cancer but I also know several women that are strong survivors♡  Have you made your annual mammogram appointment?  I have and I encourage you to if you haven't.  Early detection is key.

Chaitali designed the Pink Power set for her mom with a lot of love when her mom was undergoing treatment.

My card was inspired by THIS gorgeous one....

cardstock:  recollections/110/white, stampin' up pink pirouette  stamps  verve pink power  ink:  ranger archival black  other:  the twinery/charcoal, sequins by neat & tangled, mama elephant basic cuts, peerless watercolors

My goal was to keep the focus on the statement.  I used 2 different Peerless Watercolor pinks and finished it off with Neat & Tangled's Cotton Candy Sequins.

Now hippety hop over to the AMAZING Julie!

In case you get lost along the way, here's the hop listing:

Beautiful pink creation! I turned 40 this year and will have my first mammogram in a few months. My aunt too died of complications from breast cancer. She was in remission for several years and didn't follow through on one of her 6 month mammograms. By the time she went in, a year later, it had already spread to her bones and some of her organs. :( I'm prone to putting things off when it comes to my health. Because of her story though I am not putting it off and I am spreading the word on my blog too. Thanks for taking part in this blog hop and shining some light on this disease. Pink Power!

Lovely card, Amy! CAS perfection. I turned 40 this year and since we just recently moved to CT I am trying to find myself a Dr. so I can get in to schedule a mammogram along with a regular physical. It is high on my priority list. :)
