Paper Smooches Sparks Final Challenge: there's snow one like you

Poppin' in here speedy quick on this windy, rainy Halloween....I hope it clears up for all those trick or treaters...we have 2 bags of candy from Costco that we need to give out!

Disclaimer:  No snow peeps were harmed for this card

cardstock:  stampin' up basic black, ranger watercolor  stamps:  paper smooches cool dudes/crystal clear & sentiment sampler  ink:  ranger archival black  other:  paper smooches/cool dudes dies, peerless watercolors, mme wood dots

So, if you've been following me, you know that I'm a sketch-a-holic.  I've been so busy with DT work this year that I haven't been able to necessarily play as much as I generally do.  I did want to make sure that I participated in the FINAL Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.  So sad to see this challenge go away :(

Check out the last Designer Draft:

I had so much fun watercoloring this morning...yes, this morning.  I didn't make this for anyone specific but wouldn't it be perfect for someone expecting their 2nd child.  It would take a special person to not get grossed out by the girl being in the mason jar....Non-crafty peeps might not 'get that'.

Over the years, I've entered several Paper Smooches Sparks Challenges....Here are a couple of my favs:

I'd love to see some of your favs that you've posted!

Mama Elephant: I'm your biggest fan

A just for fun card!

cardstock:  recollections/110/white, hero arts sea layering papers  paper:  basic grey adrift  stamps:  mama elephant blogging buddies /ella & friends ink:  ranger archival black  other:  mama elephant blogging buddies dies/peek a frame

I've been trying to create those more often...my design teams keep me hoppin' and so I'm trying to spread the inky love to my other sets!  I bought all the stamps and dies on today's card at the Mama Elephant event (which I hope to make an annual tradition!).  That Peek a Boo Frame is fun, you'll see that a lot!

The patterned paper is Basic Grey's Adrift (Thanks Katie!!) and the blue cardstock is Hero Arts Sea Layering paper.

It's been a bit busy here on the home front.  Darin's Dad is recuperating at the hospital from his earlier surgery, Darin's been busy at work and helping to manage his Dad's care...me?  Work is busy, my townhouse is on the market (second tenant to break their lease, sigh),  currently recruiting a real Design Team for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hops:

Something fun that happened this week was I went on my first Night Flight with Darin:

It really is hard to capture the beauty of all the lights and just the sense of calm that occurs♡  Totally different from my last commercial night flight from Newark to Seattle where I was sitting in the middle of 2 men, one that was all elbows and another man that was sitting in a portion of my seat.  I would have rather sat beside a crying baby...but in all honesty, I was thankful to have been able to spend the time with my family and added perks of getting to go to the Mama Elephant event♥

Hero Arts: All Decked Out

How's the holiday cardmaking going? I tend to try to fall back on postal friendly designs but also know that I have the opportunity to hand deliver holiday greetings so I can go 'bumpy':

hero arts supplies  cardstock:  kraft, snow + blush layering papers stamps:  clearly kelly all decked out  ink:  red royal mid-tone, unicorn white pigment  other:  clear gemstones

Truly, I love texture on all of my projects...this card is chock full of it from the dry embossed Blush base to the clear gemstones and heat embossed sentiment.  In real life the stag's antlers, from Clearly Kelly's All Decked Out set,  are off the cardstock base, he's been adhered with a small strip of foam tape.  You can't really tell from the photo but he's been swished with gold watercolor.

The All Decked out has been stamped with the Unicorn Pigment ink and followed up with clear embossing powder.

We hope that you've had a chance to link up to the current Hero Arts challenge:  Holiday Cardmaking

Yay for Friday Eve!

So, in case you don't know, Kelly has this awesome feature she does on her blog, CASEing Genius.  She interviews the special guest and showcases 3 of her favorite projects by them.  She then CASE's one of them.  HERE's my day on her blog.  A big shout out to Marika + Nina-Marie for all their work!

Ready?  Here we go, here are just 3 of my favs:

Well, you knew that there was going to be at least one coffee card, eh?! I always love Kelly's use of color and the masking for the stacked cups is awesome.

Gah, how cute is this Holiday Hugs card?!  Everything is just perfect!  I'm not a purple girl but I absolutely adore the purple and teal combo.

I really am a clean + simple girl at heart so when I saw this card with all that glorious white space and pop of color....oy, love it.

Here's how I was inspired:

cardstock:  hero arts snow layering paper  stamps:  hero arts CL909 merry cactus to you  ink:  AF320 lime to forever green ombe, hero arts AF207 mid tone butter bar, hero arts AF256 mid tone just rust  other:  hero arts platinum embossing powder, pretty pink posh stitched duo 2, stampin' up basic black

I used the Hero Arts Merry Cactus to You set as my focal point.  Can you tell that I used the Lime to Forever Green Ombre pad?  I topped it off with a tiny bloom from Doodlebug.  The sentiment has been heat embossed with Hero Arts Platinum.  The background stencil is named Pebble Path, thought that was appropriate...inked it up with Butter Bar!

I can't wait to hop!  Next up is the Awesome Ardyth!

Pink Power Blog Hop!

post 2 of 2 for today...click here for Reverse Confetti's SFYTT

Chaitali has rounded up some of her crafty friends to help spread Breast Cancer awareness. This is a cause close to her heart because she lost her mom to it earlier this year.

You should have arrived here from Chaitali's blog. If not, you'll want to start there!

Every year, more than 180,000 American women are diagnosed with breast cancer. It is the most common cancer in women and the second-most deadly (lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer deaths in women). But in spite of these sobering statistics, there is every reason for hope. In scientific studies, annual screening mammography in women age 40 and older has reduced the death rate from breast cancer. In addition, advanced diagnostic tests and newer, more effective treatment options are making it possible for more and more women to survive this disease.

Sadly, I think we all know at least one person that has been effected by breast cancer.  My Aunt passed away from complications of breast cancer but I also know several women that are strong survivors♡  Have you made your annual mammogram appointment?  I have and I encourage you to if you haven't.  Early detection is key.

Chaitali designed the Pink Power set for her mom with a lot of love when her mom was undergoing treatment.

My card was inspired by THIS gorgeous one....

cardstock:  recollections/110/white, stampin' up pink pirouette  stamps  verve pink power  ink:  ranger archival black  other:  the twinery/charcoal, sequins by neat & tangled, mama elephant basic cuts, peerless watercolors

My goal was to keep the focus on the statement.  I used 2 different Peerless Watercolor pinks and finished it off with Neat & Tangled's Cotton Candy Sequins.

Now hippety hop over to the AMAZING Julie!

In case you get lost along the way, here's the hop listing:

Reverse Confetti SFYTT: 'Tis the Season for Pie

Post 1 of 2 for today...click here for the Pink Power Blog Hop.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Fall is my Favorite Season.  There is something about the changing colors of the trees, pumpkins and the crisp air...just love it!

cardstock:  stampin' up crumb cake  paper:  pebbles harvest  stamps:  reverse confetti easy as pie  ink:  stazon black  other:  reverse confetti pumpkin patch/stitched flag trio confetti cuts, memory box stitched circle, stampin' up into the woods elements

So, I've been having fun using upcycled supplies and adding them to my cards...any guesses what this card might contain?  Here's the easy one, the 'stem' is a Panera coffee sleeve...any guesses what the pumpkin is made of?  It's a paint chip!  It has a nice sheen to it....I used black stazon for the sentiment and the wood veneer leaf is by Stampin' Up.  This is going to my Ex-MIL.  She makes thee most wonderful pumpkin pies♡

I was inspired by the current SFYTT:

Speaking of pumpkins...I wanted to share this photo that we took on Saturday afternoon:

LOL...cracks me up so much!  This is my first year as an empty nester.  Pumpkin Patches was something that I always did with the kids...Darin was my Pumpkin Patch date this year and as you can see, one of us is having fun♡  It's been an ongoing joke in our household because Darin is the lucky one that 'gets to' shovel the squishy pumpkins into the yardwaste bin...It was such a beautiful day on Saturday that we both had fun.
