Hello and Happy Monday! The Hero Arts June My Monthly Hero kit is now live in the shop! We're celebrating with a hop that includes some Hero Arts Friends! You should have arrived here from the spectacular Heather Ruwe's blog! If not, you'll want to start at the beginning of the hop which is the Hero Arts blog.
The kit contains:
A luggage tag die (die size 8 1/4" x 2 5/8", finished tag 4 1/8" x 2 5/8")
Seven accessory dies (heart, camera, sunglasses, sunshine, geotag, suitcase, airplane)
A 4x6 clear stamp set
Two half sheets of Sizzix tan Paper Leather
Three geotag clips
Airmail stripe washi tape
Journal
Three map hearts
Airmail twine
Clear tag holders
There is 1 optional add-on 4x6 clear stamp set:
Okay, let's get to it, eh?! I had so much fun with this kit. If you've been following me for awhile, you'll know that this kit will come in quite handy for me. My boy goes to college, out of state, in New York. The other thing, we own an airplane...more on that in a smidge.
I couldn't wait to make my own Flight Journal. With the airplane we love to take local trips to the San Juan Islands but this year I'll be doing a bit more flying outside of the state.
I decorated the cover of the journal with cardstock from the Blush Mix + Snow Layering pack. See that airmail strip on the left? I trimmed it off of the kit's packagaing :)
The airplane die is the perfect size for the cover. I backed it with Sea Mix Layering Paper. The sentiment has been stamped in Strawberry + Navy.
Here's a glamor shot of the airplane. It was recently painted, it turned out awesome. It's a RV-9 that Darin built himself. I love going flying!
Next up is a fun shaker luggage tag! (sorry about the photog, the luggage tag was being squirrely)
I'm sure TSA is going to love this. I stamped the Destination New York in Soft Pool. I layered the Strawberry + Navy inks on top of the New York image. I used the packaging trim on my panel and filled the the tag with sequins. I stitched the tag closed with gold metallic thread.
Here's my final project for today, I whipped up a card:
I used the Luggage Tag Die but trimmed it down to just one tag and used it on my card. The Irregular Grid Bold Prints is the base of my tag and the sentiment is from this month's kit. I die cut the airplane in solid black. I topped off the tag with Airmail Twine. This will be perfect for my personal pilot (wink).
Before you go, I did want to share my card that was up on the Hero Arts blog this weekend. It's a great project to show the versatility of the kit. I happened to find some fun (old) cupcake acetate and made a shaker tag.
The Sweet Sprinkles Bold Prints has been stamped in Unicorn on a Blush Mix Layering paper panel. I love the awesome Sizzix Tan Paper Leather♡

Back to your creations, my favorite was the tag. And way to go on the "no waste" policy by utilizing the packaging. I do love the "Air Mail" look on the flight journal.
TFS!
Would be awesome to win the kit!
