with heartfelt sympathy...

I'm sending out 2 sympathy cards this week...such difficult cards to make.  I'm a fan of non-traditional colors...the lighter and pastel the better.  This one is being sent to a family:

I haven't inked up the Reverse Confetti Rose Garden in awhile.  I originally picked it for the rose image so bonus points that it has a sympathy sentiment.  I was thinking of using a stencil for the Sand background but decided to keep it clean and crisp.

The pattern strip is from the True Love 6x6 paper pad.  The pink cardstock is Piggy Bank.  The rose is colored with Zig Clean Color Markers.  The leaves are Zig to Zig but the rose was actually colored with 2 different shades of pink and then literally saturated with water to swoosh the colors around.  I love the loose watercolor effect.  The Midnight ink and Cloud White cardstock works well for this technique.  I dried the image with my heat gun.

Thinking of you

With the gorgeous weather we've been having in the pacific northwest I can sometimes whip up a card after work and still have natural sunlight for photography.  Believe me, that doesn't happen often.  I knew that I wanted to ink up the Papertrey Ink - What the Doodle Tea Time set:

I teamed it up with a Jillibean wood veneer tag, Divine Twine and a Memory Box cardbase.  THIS card by Kay Miller inspired my design.

Love this week's CAS(E) this sketch!

Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop: Always be strong

I have a couple new Papertrey Ink goodies that are NBUS so I thought I'd better join in the May Hop Fun:

Such a pretty inspiration photo...I struggled with the muted colors, tossed 2 cards and finally settled on this one:

I absolutely LOVE the Courage & Kindness stamp set!  I love how it has single images but also the images that help you stamp out everything in a scenery.  Those are the stamps I used.  The sentiments in this set are wonderful.

I don't have any PTI inks but if you're interested in the colors I used, they're Fresh Inks:

Blush - Charcoal - Succulent - Kale - Pear

I can't wait to hop around and be thoroughly inspired!

Happiest of Birthdays!

So, be patient with me as a search for a sweet spot in the house for photography.  The boy took the camera that I use for blog photos and although I have another Nikon to use, I can't seem to get the settings quite right.

I generally don't make my own cardbases...sigh, I'm lazy and I average 7+ cards a week so I buy the Memory Box A2 cardbases.  I was eyeing a package of Stampin' Up Cucumber Crush cardstock and decided to whip up a base, you all know how much I ADORE green:

I've really downsized my Stampin' Up products but my go to seems to be Birthday Blooms.  Can you tell that I teamed up Soft Sky with the Cucumber Crush 💚

May Guest Designer: Color Throwdown - Oh Hello There

I'm so excited to be a May Guest Designer for Color Throwdown!  I'm a huge fan of their challenge!  Check out this week's inspiration:

Perfect, my two favorite colors, green + grey....staple colors in my wardrobe!  Here's how I was inspired:

I combined the Reverse Confetti Lead + Lime Green cardstock.  I stamped up some of the fun images from the Figures of Speech stamp set and also used the coordinating confetti cuts.  I inked up the Lotsa Dots Stencil with Lime Green ink.  On the Lead panel I used the So Many Stars set with Stormy Ink.

All the speech bubbles are on foam dimensions.  This is a great gender neutral card.

My design was inspired by the May Reverse Confetti SFYTT:

Such a fun challenge!  We hope you join along too:  Once you’ve finished your card or other paper-crafted project, add a direct link to your creation using the Inlinkz tool at the bottom of the Color Throwdown post. And, don’t forget to use the keyword CTD444 if you upload your project to an online gallery, or hashtag on social media with #ctd444 and/or #colorthrowdown.

Challenge guidelines are in the right sidebar on the Color Throwdown Challenge Blog in case you have any questions.

Make sure you check out the fabulous Color Throwdown team...

You Go, Gull!

I recently ordered a bunch of goodies from Ellen Hutson LLC.  Check out the MFT Seaside Seagulls:

I love puns and the Seaside Seagulls is full of them.  Cracks me up!  I knew that I wanted to team it up with the Essentials by Ellen Wonky Backdrops.  This set is a must-have!  I inked it up with the Hero Arts Soft Sky to Indigo Ombre' pad.

I can't believe that I didn't focus on that lovely tea cup...I'll be back with another card.  This time around I concentrated on the color palette.

The Heart Desires: You Make Me Happy

I'm up on The Heart Desires with a quick card trio!  I'd love for you to visit me over on the blog!  Here's a peek at some of my supplies:

Reverse Confetti: You anchor me

So I've been on a huge nautical kick lately:

I decided to use my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and whip up a background.  The Reverse Confetti Cloud White cardstock takes watercoloring really well.  I added the Flowers for Mom confetti cuts in Sand and Cloud White.  The sentiment is from the Seaside stamp set which has been stamped in Navy.  Love the fun pop of Brick from the Seaside anchor confetti cuts.
