bright sunshiny day...

Hey all,

It's me...blogging live...seems to be a weekend ritual.

I woke up at 3 am and managed to get quite a bit done already {not quite 6 am yet}...by far, the typing of my blog post will take the most time!  Is it just me, or do you all find that too?  The actually putting together of the blog post can sometimes take as long as the creative process of the projects.

Anywho's.

Today is a busy day for me....this morning I'll be dropping my girl off for her SAT's..then heading off in the opposite direction to meet up with a friend for a belated birthday outing.  We're meeting at a Farmer's Market...love.those.

So, here's what I whipped together this morning...I'm not one that typically combines collections but I managed to combine 3.

Can you spot them?

First up is the card:

The base is from the Summer Honey collection...everything else is Prairie Hill.

Can you see it?

My glittery ink splats?

I used White Diamonds embossing powder with the splats from The Craft's Meow Typically Teen set:

This set is FREE with a The Craft's Meow purchase of $50 or more!

My card was inspired by Case Study

I love CASE Study

Aga rocks:)

Next up is my pillow box:

I picked up a handful of these kraft pillow boxes when Paper Zone closed up :(

The base is from Summer Honey and the sticker is Neapolitan.

I printed out a ton of the designs from the Summer Honey collection on PTI cardstock...ordinarily for a project like this I would have used lighter weight cardstock.  It makes it easier to adhere and no 'popping'...that's what I call when the paper pops up...drives me nuts.  So for extra adhesive, I hit the connecting ends with fabric washi....the color/pattern contrast makes me happy:)

Although I'm not going to reveal the gift, I wanted to give you a sneak of how I packaged the potential gift card {wink}...glassine envie with another bit of the same fabric washi.

I'm afraid the birthday girl just might take a peek at this...not going to post the projects on FB until after I give it to her, but I'll also be sharing another giftie I picked up from a super fabulous bloggie friend....she rocks her etsy shop:)

Okay, I gotta get choppin' here...12 minutes before I have to wake the girl and I haven't gotten ready yet....have a super Saturday!  Tonight I'm crafting with some super crafty peeps at the Impress Stamp night...I'm a newbie, hope to get some projects done...we'll see:)

Ooooooo fabric washi; so cool!!! All of your cards and projects are inspiring to me. Yes, the blog posts take as long or much longer than the creative process quite often. I actually feel relief when I have several auto posted items. Then I relax and just create for a while until it is time to spend a day typing and typing and photographing...

Oh so lovely!!! These are great and sunny! I totally agree that blogging takes up way more time then creating projects. It should be the other way around huh!!!

Man, oh man......3 am? Ugh...But it's true, with that schedule you must get 3xs as much done in a day than I ever accomplish. ;)
Your projects are adorable. Really love the mix of collections you used and love the bits of washi tape on the pillow box. I know your friend absolutely adored these!

Super cute card and box, Amy! And you're right, it takes me longer to write a post than to make the project itself.

You did all that at 3 a.m.? It would take me all day to think something up and another 1/2 day to create it.
