masculine cards

My Biggest Challenge.

Thank you Debby Hughes

I specifically scrolled through her blog to find inspiration for a male birthday card and found THIS one.  I combined Allison Kreft (woodgrain) with Basic Grey Fact.  I used, yes, my broken china distress stain on the watercolor paper tag and also inked up the Basic Grey panel.

The celebrate is PTI, embossed with white Zing.  I added a smidge of cork to the tag and finished it off with some hemp twine.

Debby's card used enamel dots.  This card was made specifically for someone at work and I didn't take him for an enamel dots kind of guy so I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch out some cork dots...LOVE them.  I think I'm going to put my boy to work to punch out a ton of them ☚ good thing he doesn't read my blog...muwahahaha.

I've always said I work better under pressure...I don't know if that's necessarily the case but when I don't give myself much time to dilly dally, I can't over analyze a project, kwim?  So I put together this card in less than 2 hours...that means everything from finding the inspiration on Debby's blog to photog'ing...because yes, that was the day that I was bringing it into work.  Big shout out to my bloggie friend Sherry, who was my sounding board (is that the right saying?  I didn't grow up with euphemisms so they aren't always correct when I say them, can be quite embarrassing)

Did you see the news?
