Don't let that 'scare' you...like when you buy furniture from Ikea and it comes with a bazillion nails, screws etc.  This is much more FUN. I worked with a specific color palette and cut everything out first, per color.  I knew that I wanted to design three different cards so I made sure I had all the 'parts' for 3 butterflies.  You can make them as layered as you want, mine are 3 + 4 layers.

First up is the Bonjour plaid design.

I recently discovered cork in my stash and love it as added texture, especially for Fall themed cards.  This one also includes some glorious gold glitter cardstock.  The center ovals are the Classic Nestabilities....if you don't have these, they really are a must have, basic shapes are a staple in my stash.

Next up is my 4.25 x 4.25 square design:

Keeping things real, this was my final project that I made.  It was going to be an oval tag.  I couldn't figure out how to add an appropriate sentiment on that beautiful gold panel so I decided to mount it on a clean + simple square card.  I'm not someone that has to have sentiments on my card fronts, are you?

Inky Paws Challenge | Newton's Nook Designs

I've had the very fun Newton's Nook Designs Cluck set for a while.  I finally inked it up:

I teamed it up with the Hardwood Stencil, I used some modeling paste with it on kraft cardstock.

The tag has been cut from an older Lawn Fawn paper pad [Hello Sunshine], this panel has sun rays.

I was inspired by the current Inky Paws Challenge:

So Many Candles | Woodblock Wednesday | Guest Designer

Hello and welcome to another edition of Woodblock Wednesday.  I'm featuring:

Savvy Stamps  - Large Whimsical Outline Cake - Retired [9241]
Impress - So Many Candles [5654C]

Here's how I was inspired:

Keeping things real, this was card #3 [whew!].  Originally I stamped the cake in versafine onyx.  My first card I smeared the candles with my hand while coloring [grrrrr].  Card #2 I didn't like the Distress Oxide on top of the candles and I knew better [I really did!] and I tried to 'fix' things with a black sharpie = ugh.

So in an effort to step away from Versafine, I heat embossed the image with Hero Arts Copper on Bristol.

My Distress Oxide color combo is compliments of Kristina Werner.

The cake has been colored with Zig Clean Color Markers.  Have you used the blending brush?! Ooohhh...it's amazing.

To keep my card in a festive mode my card base is a very glittery panel.

I'm super excited to introduce my guest for this week, Meghan Kennihan!  She's a wonderful cardmaker, loves making coffee cards and is super sweet!  She's sharing two cards over on her blog AND doing a giveaway too!

A big thank you to Meghan for joining me this week!!!

Reverse Confetti October Creative Hop

Today is the 8th of October which means it is time for the Reverse Confetti Creative Hop!!  We have our September | October 'Fetti Friends joining us today too!

You should have arrived here from my teamie Heather Hoffman.  If not, you'll want to start on the Reverse Confetti blog so you don't miss a thing!

Today I'm sharing some Gift Card Holders.  I picked up a couple super cute gift cards from Starbucks and they were the inspiration for my projects today.  The cards themselves are clean + simple.  I've also stamped out some coordinating envelopes.

Each design has a Sand A2 base.  I used the Scalloped Bag & Tags Creator Confetti Cuts as the top layer.  They have been cut in Avocado Cardstock.

This Pumpkin Spice Latte version has the pumpkin from the With a Thankful Heart stamped on the envelope in Rust ink.

I used a based rectangle die to cut out the window and backed them with acetate.   I used double sided adhesive the tack down 3 sides of the avocado panel.

Here's what the gift card looks outside of the card.  I added a pull tab directly on the gift card.  The paper is from the This & That 6x6.

I love this 'Not a Decaf Day' gift card, it cracks me up!  I've stamped the coordinating envelope with a sentiment from Drink More Coffee in Avocado ink.

The double sided adhesive keeps the Avocado panel down so snug that I didn't need to design channels on my card.  The gift card easily slides in and out of its pocket.

I adhered the same pull tab on this gift card as the one above.  It really is a pretty quick design with not a whole lot of fussiness.

I'm super excited to see what my teamies are sharing today! Kathy Schweinfurth is next!  I know she's going to have something super fabulous!  In case you get lost along the way, here's the complete listing:
