Greetings from Seattle

Let me start off with a shout out for the most fabbie Pam, our hostess with the mostess. That girl has got to have her brain on 365 Card mode 24/7 with all the sketches and challenges she puts together....let's give her a woot woot for all of her hard work!

Okay, onto the sketch and my card....I had a ton of fun putting this card together although I have to admit I was hoping to use my new Sassafras Me Likey goodies for it...but, it just wasn't working for me....what's the next best thing? Combining Sassafras with a bit of October Afternoon and a smidge of Stampin' Up & A Muse!!

I love working with apples and have recently gravitated towards them...the new Me Likey line has red apples too!

Do you non-Washingtonian correlate our state with apples? Did you know that there are more than 175,000 acres of apple orchards in Eastern Washington? The 2006 crop was estimated as yielding 92 million boxes of apples! We're an apple lovin' family..golden delicious for the kids and fuji's for me!

Okay, that's your school lesson for the day...LOL....wanted to show you my original take of my card:

Okay, what's different....tapping my foot....waiting....okay...here goes:

bling-age!

When I originally uploaded my card on Saturday morning I noticed that I forgot to embellish my corners to match Pam's fabulous sketch....I love the pop of the black bling! This card went postal already to a sweet gal...to thank her for thinking of me!

Okay, thanks for bearing through my ultra long Sunday post....it's to YOUR advantage though...LOL. For those that read my post from the other day, hmmm...may have been yesterday. I mentioned blog candy...well, it is your lucky day my friends, today is the START of my blog candy WEEK. Yup, everyday this week I'll be slinging out some blog candy...a few of my favorite things. I want to show MY appreciation for YOU...no you don't need to follow my blog {oh, that's right, I took my follower gadget off because it was freaking out my poor blog}....no you don't "need" to post my blog candy on your blog {you can if you want, it just isn't a requirement to be part of the blog candy drawing}. It is pure easy smeasy candy!! What does it all lead up to? Saturday is my 29th birthday {again}....bahaha...I'm a huge fan of birthday's...it doesn't matter who the birthday peep is...I just love celebrating them.

I feel super fortunate that I have a blissful life...blissful...darn it, I can't remember what blog I was reading but they asked what "gives you bliss"...that's my life. Don't get me wrong...I recently had a couple rocky patches in my life...it just makes me appreciate what I have NOW...to not take things for granted...I love my kidlets...my family...my man...my friends...life IS good.

Okay, I know what you're thinking...blah, blah, blah...I thought it would only be appropriate to start off the week with some SU blog candy. Why SU? {sorry to all you SU demos...I know you all probably have this set..btw, I'm not a demo, although I should be one because I consistently win the "Stampaholic" award from my demo...year after year...LOL...Hi J!!!!!}. Stampin' Up is what opened me up to the stamping world...I had other stamps before being introduced to SU but let's be honest, SU is my first real crafty addiction :) So, I give you:

Sweet Little Sentiments

I've been using my set alot lately...love it!!!!

So here's the dealio...leave me a comment, if I draw your name and you already have the set, I'm sure I have something else in my stash'ola I can send you...just give me the word :) Comments for the blog draw will be open until midnite..that goes for the entire week...midnite of the post. Internationals are of course welcome...I love all you gals!!!!

Here's to a fabulous week....thanks again my friends!!!

I say that's one stylish apple.. I'll bet Eastern WA. doesn't grow them that way.. tasty and pretty but not stylish or blinged :)..

What gives me bliss??? HMM
Besides my DH and kids?? I would say seeing someone's face when they open a gift you made with your own hands and seeing them light up.. I LOVE that.. a validation that you actually DO make beautiful things..

I love your card Amy. I know Washington State is well known for their apples. I live in Central NY and we have alot of apple orchards around here. In 2006 NY's apple crop was valued at 2.2 billion dollars. I like Golden Delicious, Fuji, and McIntosh to eat, Cortland for making applesauce or salads (it doesn't darken up), Granny Smith's for pies, and Pippin's.
