shop on!

Welcome to 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!

We have a fabulous sponsor for this week:

...gotta love that name...

Here's the sketch for today:

{sorry for the poor pic...I could not seem to take a good one because of the glare bouncing off of the flair...hey, that rhymes!}

I got to play with the Shopping Kaylee image:

I tell you, I love the Some Odd Girl images...sooo much fun!!! I decided to color the image with copics...what??!!! no paper piecing? Hey Rose, I didn't paper piece! I know that with copics it is all about practice, practice, practice..I'm hoping to take another beginner Copic's class this summer and really stick with the practicing so bear with me ladies:)

I so wanted to use that flair which originally said Rock On. I altered it with my Cosmo Cricket tiny type to fit my card theme:) Darn that glare:)

I teamed up Raspberry Fizz and some striped Crate paper...it is thee most gorgeous blue...love it. I backed the Some Odd Girl image with a page out of a japanese book.

The prize for this week is 3 Some Odd Girl images! I can't wait to see how your interpret the sketch for today and make sure you check out the
Some Odd Girl Shop and blog!

Well, I discovered a new line of stamps that I ADORE:

Invoke Arts

Paulina enabled me...let me know about these peeps that were selling these for $18 or maybe it was $19 ea/buy 3 get 1 free...nice way to start my collection...

Okay, that's it for today...I'll probably have more to share tomorrow...let me know what I 'need' to pick up in the Spellbinder's line...it's a smidge overwhelming seeing so many:)

Cute card and thanks for tip on altering a premade embellie. Lvoe those spellbinders labels too. I got my first one (I think it was #8 thinking I would use it ALL the time, but it isn't quite as curvy as these are so I wish I would have gotten the ones you picked...)

That is a good price. I get mine at Hobby Lobby. They put them on sale 40% off of 24.99. I think you should probably get your basic shapes first. Circle and scalloped circle and oval and scalloped oval and so forth. I know I wasn't happy until I bought the two together. Don't forget to get a tanning mat too. Otherwise you can't emboss. Hope that helps. :)

What a darling card! Love the strong and funky colours and that japaneese bookpage really made it.

Looks like you´ve done some serious shopping, girl... I have just started my own collection of spellbinders. Been bidding on several shapes on Ebay... here in Sweden they are sooo expensive... and I kind of want them all.... ; )

Have a great day! / Sophia

your card is gorgeous. you really can't go wrong with Copics. I love nesties and just started working with them on Sat. I have 5 sets. keep in mind you can get them at Joanne's with coupons. I just found that out and got only one set. i love Invoke Art. You rock.

Love your blog Miss Queen of NICE!! My wish is for more nice people in the world. I dislike sour pusses or negative people.

Luv how you used the Jap paper for the card! Perfect! I see you've got onto the Spellbinder bandwagon. Careful, it's addictive! Luv those Invoke Arts stamps... they are gorgeous!

Oops, forgot to answer your question... ask yourself which shape you are likely to use or which shape is more suitable to your needs. I started out with Labels 1 initially and later Labels 2. Then added a scalloped circle/square and lately Labels 10. I do use them a lot even for mini albums! I quite like the last Nestis that is shown. Very versatile!

glare on the flair? yeah--i've been THERE!!! :) :) :) your turn, fezzick! (sorry. princess bride is my favorite movie!) :)

slanty angle notwithstanding, i think it's a BRILLIANT card and an excellent, clear, bright, photo that shows it off PERFECTLY!

before you buy more nesties or other dies that aren't on a MASSIVE sale, go here: http://www.ucutathome.com/vip.php and sign up for the monthly "VIP" coupon! you get 40% off one thing every month, and their prices are pretty good anyway, actually, and not too bad for shipping. they also have some good "sets" of 4 nestie titles each that are like $75 for all 4 AND THEN you can use the 40% off! here's the labels set: http://www.ucutathome.com/store/product/Spellbinders_Nestabilities_Classic_Labels_/id/3420 i think you have one of them, but you could RAK it! they also have sets of all the basic shapes, so check it out before you spring for them one at a time! :) (not to enable or anything...but hey...if you're gonna do it, might as well get a BARGAIN!!!) :) ♥
