**catching up with ya**

Howdy Peeps!

I thought I'd pop in here to catch up with ya...I'm horribly behind on my google reader and well, hope to catch up over the glorious long weekend.

I'm no techie {luckily I'm engaged to one!} so when things aren't technically working for me...I can get a smidge frustrated....so you know how there have been all these commenting problems with blogger?  I haven't had problems commenting on blogs but people have emailed me and let me know that they aren't able to leave *me* comments...only some peeps...well, I tweeked my settings and BAM got some SPAM {grrrr...don't those trolls have better things to do with their time...I don't want to buy their jewelry or their purses!}....So my Smarty Pants bloggie buddie Julie emails me and tells me that she notices that the blogs that have their comment windows embedded in the bottom of their posts are giving her commenting fits {I'm improvising here}.  I actually went to that design because I figured it would help people in their commenting...less 'clicks'....so I went back to the pop up window comment box and guess what?  Those peeps can now leave comments...yahooooooooooooo!!!!  Julie...girl...you need to get a techie job because the peeps over at blogger haven't mentioned your fix!   

I don't like to encounter problems on my blog or anybody else's blog....so hopefully this might help you out...or pass the word along...maybe it might help other bloggers that are having problems?!

On a side not, what's up with the blogger issues lately?  I know...I know...it is a free service...maybe I should make the leap to WordPress finally?  Pros...Cons....help me out ladies!!!  I actually have a WP site waiting for me...thanks to my honey BUT I gotta tell you, I'm a creature of habit and the thought of learning new tricks to a new blog is well, exhausting....anybody know of WP on-line classes?

Chattie, aren't I?  :)  okay, okay...let me just end with this....I'm in the process of doing {yet another} major purge of my crafty supplies....I'll slowly start to list them on my blog....so be on the look out..

I'm totally with you on those frustrations, Amy! I feel at home on blogger, so I would be extremely scared to switch to WP. Sounds silly, doesn't it? Do you know if WordPress has any issues? I'd say if it feels right, go for it! Especially if your techie fiance is willing to help you out.

Sorry I don't have any "real" info for you!

Word Press is a lot of do it yourself blogging. I have Typepad, Amy, I have no issues. However, you would have the same issues that I have with blogger, because it would not be when you are blogging, but rather when you are commenting. I tried to fix what you fixed but because I was not blogger it wasn't me but the blog I was going to. So I do not think changing would help, just different frustrations. Thanks for putting the solution up as now maybe individuals will fix their blogs so that we can comment!

I know - and my followers keep disappearing - very frustrating too - must check if i have what you are writing about - didn't know you could choose...

Other than the big blogger lock out over the Friday the 13th weekend, I haven't had much trouble (knocking on wood as I type that!) I like blogger because I know how to do it, its comfortable. and free is good! hehe! Thinking about changing to another service wears me out and I don't think we can take our followers with us so then starting over with that makes me tired too. I just hope blogger can get its act together!!

I haven't had any problems commenting on blogs and haven't heard anyone saying they are having problems on mine so I must be lucky.
You are quite the chatty cathy today is that due to all the caffeine or the fact that you finally got through that reader? :)

Yaaaayy!!! I can finally leave comments on your blog, Amy! And all this while I thought it was problem with my PC. Apparently this problem only happened to some blogger users... and I guess I was one of the unlucky ones!

I tried using WP once, but I'm so used to blogger that I prefer the interface more. Also I tried using WP for my company's blog and somehow it gets much much more spam than my blogger one. Don't know if spam is related to any blogging tools. I'm going to check out your cards now!

I use WordPress myself...that is just what my techie husband initially set me up with....but I have soooo many friends have the same frustrating issues with Blogger....I'm kinda thinking though, that with all the people that use them, they will be forced to fix the issues...so maybe, just ride it out for little while. I would feel the same about starting new somewhere else...it took me forever to even figure out my blog...and I would find it absolutely DAUNTING to start fresh. I'm definitely technically challenged! Hope it all works out for you girl!!! and hope you enjoy the rest of your Memorial Day weekend! -nancy

Oh, dear: HAVE I MISSED A LOT! You're hilarious as ever! {What's a google reader? heh heh} I'm trying to catch up from WAY behind the old fashioned way - memory!} Sorry for all the frustrations! Sounds like I missed quite a bit whilst I was traveling. YOU are such a delightful friend for always taking the time to comment the way you do. I love YOU for that and many other things{!} ! I really like typepad but don't want to pay. The look of it is so clean and fresh. Will stick to blogger for now. :)

I have heard that if you use firefox the issues aren't there and I use it and there are no issues for me! I really like google friend connect it makes following blogs so much easier! I will stick wiht blogger for now I can't imagine the work of moving! My issue is that not all of my comments are coming to my email! They are on my blog but I don't get it in my inbox. Do you have any idea of what to do?

I haven't had any problems... but I use Mozilla Firefox and not sure if others use Internet Explorer... I have had peeps tell me about the comment thing... so I have just now tried the pop up comment window... thanks love for the tip via Julie... she must be really smart...her name is JULIE! *wink* :):):):):):):):):):):):):)

sista...Am so glad you got your comment issue fixed. That has to be VERY frustrating and annoying... I don't have had many problems... except when I'm trying to do a pre-post ...usually it wrecked all up!!... but I have fixed it now... coz Blogger isn't that smart afterall... especially when when I click on preview and then x my window pops...instead of auto pre-post it when back to DRAFT!!! which I think ... waste of time... !!!Anyhoo.... i'm like you too...creature of habits... WP i think is alright...give a go...hugs...xoxo

I found your post from Sylvia, and I have found by using Mozilla, I don't have the problems I was having. However (not trying to be dumb here) I don't understand how to change the type of comment box I get---I am sure it is in the set-up portion of my blog, but which is the popup and which is the embedded??? Maybe I should just go LOOK first!! LOL!

I haven't had any problems with blogger since I starting using Firefox a month or so ago. I have been able to leave others comments..not that many since I hardly have time. LOL

ahhh.... i have been having some commenting issues myself lately. so you know when the box pops up, it tells me that i should log into blogger. well, i am already logged in! so what I found was if i go back to your post and click on the comment again, it will work itself out the second time.

this also happens to me when i want to comment on the comment setting that opens in another page. so the same thing, page back, click on the comment on the same post again and i'll be able to comment. really weird, huh? =)

i have been considering switching to WP, too... but i am too lazy to do everything over again... =)

I had a blogger blog until a couple years ago and couldn't stand it. At that time it was down constantly!! Loooooove WP, and every single time I email them an issue, I get an answer within a day, from a Happiness Engineer hehehehe

I'll write ya a quicky "get quickly started with WP" if ya'd like! ;)
