Check out my card for today...
See that white panel? It actually started off as a plain 5x5 folded notecard. I received a bunch of them from a FAB gal at work...she knows about my lil addiction and thought of me...now how sweet is that {I even scored 5x5 envies!}?
It was embossed with the company name {on the upper left hand side} which I creatively trimmed and covered {the white base is now 4.5 x 4.5}. I embossed the front panel with one of my favorite Quickutz embossing folders and backed the folded notecard with the yellow October Afternoon panel. All the patterned paper is October Afternoon and the green cardstock is Stampin' Up Wild Wasabi {embossed with the same QK folder as the base...and then I slightly aged it with PTI Fresh Snow}. You know me, I had to fit in at least a smidge of stitching:)
Did you notice the title of today's blog post?
inspired by...
I'm constantly slammed with inspiration out there in bloggie land. What I typically do is pop images into an inspiration folder and well, forget about them. So, I'm trying to do a new thing for me...I'm actually going to work with the inspiration piece and do 'my take' on their project. Today's card is brought to you by THIS gorgeous creation by the fantabulous Melissa Phillips. I literally gasped when I saw her card...it just was so very WOW...the contrast between the stark white and the rich colors running along the side. The sweet tag as the sentiment and the layered blooms....My take is very me...the fun colors instead of the rich colors...the pop from the Maya Road wood Bingo piece:)
My colors were inspired by the current EAD Designs Color Challenge:
I managed to use one of the sweet tags from the coordinating EAD Designs Funky Christmas Tags Stickerz:
I layered it with an EAD Designs Co-Branding Paper Smooches Thank You Sentiments Stickerz:
Remember that everybody that plays with the EAD Designs Color Challenge is a winner:
The lucky peep that wins the color challenge will also be our December Guest Designer!
