YAY! Happy Birthday to the David Suzuki look-a-like!
I'd have to say...my absolute FAVOURITE holiday tradition is that...because my parents got sick of my brother and I waking them up at 5am or 6am on Christmas morning and we often had my dad's family Christmas on Christmas Eve and would get home late...we started to open our stockings at midnight on Christmas Eve (which is actually Christmas morning)...then it evolved into getting takeout with my grandma and doing our stocking opening afterwards, but, now that we're grown up...I have my man's family dinner on Christmas Eve but, we STILL open stockings at my parents house when we're done there...Maybe it's my favourite because stockings are always a surprise and I usually decide on my own presents...lol...I'm not a control freak...am I?

How generous of you and fun way to pre celebrate your bro birthday and excellent way to share the Christmas spirit..

I would love to cook for people, have a little get together. One Christmas, I cooked for 40pax, it was great.

My husband and I love to watch the twinkling lights of our Christmas tree for the month, in the dark and marvel at it. We prepare and attend Mass on Christmas day :)

Fave Christmas tradition? Family Christmas Eve service at church and then home for all of Christmas Day, just the four of us. We start opening presents as soon as the kids are up and then take a break midmorning to make scones for breakfast. The kids love the break in the action to start playing with some of their new toys. Then a leisurely day to just be together.

Wishing your brother a very happy birthday!!

Happy Birthday Brother:) Its hard to have a family tradition when my hubby works shift work and it varies every year over the holidays, but I do love baking cookies every year with the kids. Even the teenagers grab and apron and help out:)

Happy Birthday Amy's Brother! ;)

My favorite tradition, is one we started about 9 years ago. Before we put away the decorations, I print up personalized sheets that have some "highlights" of each family member's year.We each "wrap up" the year with what we each remember the most (we don't share it...it's a quiet time project). We fold them up and put them in a stocking. The "reveal" is the next year, when the decorations are pulled out again. It really helps us put into perspective how far we've come. It has been funny and teary at times...a very special moment to share with each other. Thanks for the opp. to win! ;)

how cool to spread the luv, Amy! And the chance to celebrate with your bro.

My favorite holiday traditions have changed through the years as I've gone through life. But in our small family, I finally gave the decorating of the family tree over to our sons. I get the boxes down from the attic, set them out in the the family room and begin to unwrap each ornament. The boys will take one at a time and either remember where the ornament came from or stop to hear the story of each one...it is a precious walk down memory lane and has taken the stress off me to do it all!

Merry Christmas, friend. May there be new traditions for you and yours.

Happy birthday to your brother! :)

My fave tradition is to take out my tiny white Christmas tree. It was handmade by a dear friend whom I've lost touch with. It reminds me of school days when we gave each other presents. I love that it fits nicely in a garbage bag lol...I literally take it out, plug it in and it lights up. :) The perfect lazy girl's X'mas tree.

I don't know if I have just one favorite holiday tradition. I probably had more when I was a kid and my Dad would dress as Santa. We would go to my grandmothers for Christmas Eve and then later that night after dinner we would go over to our Great-Grandmothers house for desert and opening some presents and magically while we were there Santa would of stopped by our house. Funny how I never noticed my Dad was missing at Great Grandma's house.

thanks so much for the chance to win.. my favorite tradtion.. well one of them is.. we have a Jesus stocking, and on Christmas morning before we go in to see our presents from Santa we write a little note to "Jesus" and place it in the stocking.. these are usually a goal that we will work on to better ourselves for the up coming year.. and then we read the one we wrote the year before and reflect on how we did.. :) hugs

Happy brother-ly birthday! My favorite (new!) tradition is taking off a day from work a few days before Christmas. It gives me time to bake cookies, get some last minute gifts/cards done, and some time to be by myself before the big holiday rush!

a tradition we have is choosing a charity to donate money to. i learned this from my dad when i was little. i remember us not having a lot of money but my dad would make it a point to send money to someone less fortunate than us.
love that you are celebrating your brother's birthday with blog candy!
