LESSology #12: Photo Block Challenge

This is post 2 of 2 for me today...make sure you check out my EAD Designs Color Challenge Tag!

Today is the reveal day for my LESSology project.  The current challenge is:

First up is our Super Sponsor:

The concept of Scrappin' Sports & More was truly a vision from God in the spring of 2001. It all began when Lois Benham, the owner, went to CHA looking for sports-related product to fill a need in her recently opened scrapbook store. Disappointed that very little product relating to sports was available, her discouragement soon turned to excitement when she realized she could create & manufacture the scrapbooking products she wanted, and sell them to other scrapbook stores as well.

Within 3 months, Scrappin' Sports & More set up as a vendor at their first trade show with 20 different papers, order forms, brochures, etc. The success has grown since then. They have a website, online store, and a blog with a very talented design team.

Prize - A Scrappin' Sports and more Prize Pack

Kind of a funny story behind my project....I emailed the LESSology Design Team to see what all everyone was going to use for their Photo Block base...some how the conversations got me thinking about something...I looked in my room...in a stash box that I have and BAM.....

I found this photo block:

The papers are Pink Paislee Nantucket...the alpha was a blog candy that I won from the fabbie Nina Yang!  See that smidge of a doily?  It is from some Prima packaging...LOVE it.

I shared these pics earlier but the kids and I spent a couple days at the beach during mid-winter break...

I didn't get one single picture of the girl...this is as good as it gets...her very fun chevron scarf I bought her for Christmas:

...shades of the girl...

She's soon-to-be-seventeen...need I say more?

I just had fun filling up each panel with goodies from the Nantucket collection.

Me and the Boy...I know that I'll look at this later and wonder how old we were that year so I'm just announcing it here:)

This project is perfect for Rose's challenge over at Do More With Less:

Make an item, card, layout, altered item, whatever and use at least 3 different pattern papers. Easy enough, eh?

I can't wait to see how you're inspired to create a Photo Block project!  Remember that your project needs to contain at least one upcycled/recycled item!

This is just adorable, Amy! Love those papers and colors and love the photos, too. I think your artsy photo of your daughter's scarf is so cool......and I can relate about the photos. My 16-year-old doesn't like his picture taken, either.

Oh, what a lovely project!! So beautiful!!
Amy, I like this photo block! It's fun. I hate to sound like a country bumpkin, but I never heard of a photo block before. Is it a four sided thing?

Hey, thanks for popping by my blog today. It was so nice to see you!!

I saw this challenge yesterday and thought it had endless possibilities. I always find the time to late to play. I love your project. Tell your daughter that I too did not like to have pictures taken, I felt I was not pretty enough or as pretty as my sister. She will regret not having photo's taken when she gets older. All we have are our pictures and memories! Have a wonderful day!
