my fear of purple...

For you gals that are PTI-ista's...you know these colors.

plum pudding

I'm so not a plum girl but the other weekend when I was at Impress, I saw a lovely card design using Fresh Inks:

Silver Lilac
French Lavender
Provincial Gray

I tried, without luck to CASE the card, from what I remembered in my oh-so-aging memory.

So off to Pinterest I went and stumbled upon THIS card by the oh-so-lovely Suzanne.

What started this whole crafting chaos Sunday morning?  Well, it was THIS post over on the fabulous Lynn's blog, that reminded me of the card from Impress.

Dontcha love where all the inspiration comes from?

Here's my end result...probably a good 2.5 hours after my initial start of making just one card:

Funny thing, I didn't even use my new silver lilac and french lavender fresh inks....The Craft's Meow bloom was stamped with Provincial Gray.

Although the base looks to be black, it is PTI smoky Shadow.  I added a SRM sentiment and some

**Proud Momma Moment**

I use my blog as a journal...I hope that blogger will be around for a very long time so that when I'm in my 90's I can look back at all my posts.

So, as I've mentioned before, my girl is a senior this year and she texted me a picture of her first college acceptance letter! The whole college acceptance process is so incredibly competitive. It is for the University of Washington, the ONLY instate college she applied to.

I'm one proud Momma!!!!

Isn't it a funny thing how the longer a card takes, the farther away from our original vision it really gets? Love how yours turned out! And whoo-hoo on the IN-STATE college acceptance! That's fantastic news!

I have a bit of a fear of purple, too, but sometimes I wonder why. I really do love what other people do with it. I think your card is absolutely stunning! But when I work with it, the color seems to turn on me! ;)
Congratulations to your DD on her college acceptance! I know what a huge relief that is. I've been going through the same thing with my son. We're still waiting to hear on his last school.......and of course it's the one he really wants...

Beautiful card, Amy! I don't have a fear of purple. It's actually my favorite color but in all my years of scrapbooking, I think I've used it only once or twice. LOL!

Thanks for finding inspiration in my card - I love your take on it. I love the images and bold colors that you used, as well as the sentiment. Yay for gray twine! Do you know how it compares to Twinery or Divine twine in texture?

So funny you say this because I am NOT a purple gal either. I mean, I love it when other people use purple. But it never seems to work out for me.

Congrats on the college acceptance news! This must be exciting times for your girl.
I love Smokey Shadow ink but Plum Pudding is probably amongst my least favorite colors to use. Nevertheless, your card is beautiful, Amy! Maybe I should give this color a try this week :)
LOL! I think I do the same thing-- find inspiration everywhere...draw my design...a couple of hours later...totally different:) But I always give up when working with colors that I don't like! WAY TO GO and finish your card-- LOVE the large flowers!!!

Congrats on the college acceptance letter! HOOOOORAY!!!!

beautiful card! funny how some colors (for me, it's products though) can be intimidating :) The panel is extra pretty against that dark gray base.

Proud Momma moment indeed! I'm sure many more acceptance letters are on their way!!
