hello friend.

Happy Monday!

It's day 2 of my PTI parade...I sat down and finally inked up my new PTI goodies, yesterday was the Phrase Play stamp/die, today is Circle Scribbles:

This is definitely one of those learning cards....I found the technique over on the Neat and Tangled blog by Yana...HERE is the post.

I'm super weird about my watercolor papers...whether it is my Fabriano cards or the large watercolor pads that you can get at the craft store.  It's one supply that I save every single piece of scrap and work hard at making things work and not to waste anything.

Well, if I would have re-watched the video, rather than winging it ( ← I wing it too much), I would have realized that Yana created her watercolor background before stamping on it.

Mister Huey's Sherbet/Splash & Garden

...like I said, it's all a learning process and I didn't feel the need to re-do the card, I'm really loving the movement of the colors, just not necessarily happy with how the Zing embossing 'took to it'.

note to self:
create watercolor background first and then heat emboss with white.

This is when I tell you that Darin loves this card and was quite impressed with the technique (Thanks Yana!)...he joked that I should be one to paint the airplane...ooohhhh....watercolored look...wouldn't that be awesome?

The sentiment is by Reverse Confetti.

I originally was going to mount the panel on PTI kraft but it seems to dark and heavy so I went ahead and cut out a full size panel from my watercolor stash.

I was inspired by

and or course

REALLY excited for Virginia's View Challenges...they are going to pull me out of my comfort zone and that's what we all need to grow.

Fabulous! Amy, I think the ink over the embossing gives a different look that is really attractive. Embossing last would probably give you what you imagined, but this look is awesome too! Beautiful card! :-)
Love this look!!!!!!!!!

I love how this turned out! The paint over the embossing softens the white color. You did a great job!

ok, missus, please allow me to respectfully disagree with the opinion that you wing it too much, b/c it's the "wing-it-ness" (yes, that is too a word) that MAKES this gorgeous card even more remarkable than it would've been if you'd followed "instructions" in the exact order. i love the loooooooooose swirls of color and the way the emb powder interacts with it. very matisse-y or... well very amy tsuruta-y, even!!!!!!

ps: i'd fly anywhere, any time, in a watercolory swirly painted airplane!!!! pls 2 sign me up!!! :)
