grateful.

post 1 of 2 for me today...Click HERE for my Fusion post.

So, on Tuesday night I went to my last High School Open house.  It's kind of weird to think of it that way.  My boy is a Senior this year. Wow.  This is the boy that wrote on his face with marker, gave himself haircuts and all kinds of shenanigans.

So here's a card that I made because of how grateful I am.

I'm grateful for my family, my health and all things good.

cardstock:  stampin' up hello honey/cherry cobbler, paper accents vellum,  sticker:  carta bella/a perfect autumn  other:  may arts twine, stampin' up modern mosaic embossing folder

 What's sparked this?

I read THIS blog post.
(check it out, it won't take very much of your time)

Truthfully, I sobbed when I watched the video.  It gives a person perspective, doesn't it?

I was inspired by the following challenges:

I used the sketch!

cardstock:
Stampin' Up Cherry Cobbler
Stampin' Up Hello Honey

I've been really lovin' their color combos!

and...

I was inspired by:

the colors
the pattern on the bedding:  I inked up my embossing folder with white, can you see the slight contrast in color?

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!

What a sad story how heartbreaking to face the loss of your life so very young, tissues needed for sure. I too am so very grateful for life and family <3. Love your card.

Beautiful card, Amy! Wonderful take on The Challenge sketch! I read about that young lady too. Heartbreaking and inspiring to cherish the important things of life, like our children. My 2 sons are both college seniors this year. So I know where you are coming from. Soak up all those special times! Nance, DT, The Challenge

Congratulations on attending your last open house! I'm teaching kindergarten, so I'm seeing the other end of things--parents letting their babies go for the very first time. Love the gorgeous fall design you created. The contrast of the white ink in the embossing looks great. Thanks for joining us at The Challenge!
This is a beautiful, bright, and happy card! I haven't been able to bring myself to watch the video, though--I know it will be heartbreaking.

Loving the inked debossing trick - always a favourite technique of mine! The circle of vellum really provides just the right amount of interest to place the tree on too! Thanks so much for playing to find a Cure For The Monday Blues!
Amy, I LOVE the textured background with the inking technique! I need to use vellum more often. It looks amazing behind your Fall tree! Thank you for joining us at Colour Me...! this week! XX
