Sweet Lotus

For those of you that have been following my blog, you know how much I adore Amy Butler...I did some shopping therapy {more on that in a smidge} and picked up some things from her Lotus line. The bottom layer on the gatefold Flourishes transparency is actually 4 x 5 inches {10 inches folded in half, top fold}. You just need to slip off the Paper Source Satin ribbon to open up the card. I used Laura's sketch #20 on 2s4y. The diecut is ala the Amy Butler line too.

Shopping therapy....sometimes a girl just needs it, kwim? A really good friend of mine was laid off...unfortunately, there were others too. I'm very grateful that I still have my job, but it was definitely tough yesterday....I realize that it is happening everywhere...downsizing...scary stuff...anywho's I know that my friend enjoys Amy Butler as much as I do so this was created especially for her.

This is beautiful! The paper and ribbon are so lush!

I'm sorry about your friend. I've had to spend some time these past few months being grateful for my job. You know, teachers get paid beans. Everyone knows this. But at least teachers are not losing their jobs. In fact, when we decided to get back to CO, we were hired at our first interview. I guess we won't ever be wealthy, but at least we have jobs.

WOW, Amy, THIS is just GORGEOUS!!!! LOVE the Amy Butler paper and embellishments. The ribbon is just oh so yummy. I LOVE wide ribbons!!!!

So so sorry about your friend. That really sucks. Yes, layoffs are everywhere, doesn't matter how good you are at your job. I hope it'll be over soon. My work place is always freaking out lately. It's a state university and every state it seems is in a deficit. So far we've reduced a lot of cash to keep employees but who knows how long that will last. Glad there's hubby's job at least if anything happens to mine.

Have a great day! LOVE your work!!!

That is a very sweet thought to make a card for your friend Amy. It's getting scary isn't it? I'm in the architectural business and we've had one big job keeping us all busy until now...nothing on the horizon though...fingers crossed things pick up soon. I love the graphic nature of Amy Butler's fabric too!
