Bowlin Distressed flower

It's Sunday and you know what that means...

Pam is back with another challenging sketch. I tell you that gal makes me ponder things...then tweek things, as you'll see.

I really love
Dawn McVey's Distressed flowers and look to incorporate them whenever I can these days...I'm trying to channel the fabulous Dawn...LOL...I decided to go shabby vintage today. I've been whooping up on the Cosmo Cricket/American Crafts these days so this is a nice change of pace for me. Seriously, what could be better than Jenni Bowlin & Hambly???

For those of you that have been following me for a while know that I've mentioned that I sometimes end up sending Pam a revised card...that I end up changing up my design. Today's card was the tweeked version of this original:

I decided against the blue American Crafts foam embellie...when I looked at the card again I thought that the pop of color was just too much. That's when I remembered Dawn's vintage flower tut and changed up my card :) It makes a huge difference...which do you like better?

I can't wait to see your take on today's sketch!!!

Your card is FAB, Amy!! I like the tweaked version better, too. (I would have liked the first one if you had posted it, though - LOL)

Love this! These flowers are on my "to try" list. thanks for posting your 2nd version. I've had this happen. It looks so good in your head when you're thinking it up, then not quite right IRL.

I love both cards but the tweaked one looks more finished (?). It is paper perfection! You are SO versatile with styles! I enjoy looking at your cards and learning each day!

Amy - your card is AWESOME. I love the new version you created although the blue embellie didn't work a red one might have popped it rather nicely.

Well, they are both fantastic, but I tend to like the new version best. It's more vintage to me and I really love that flower. I must make one of those as I see them often, but have never tried it. Great job Amy (as usual!) Have a great week :)

I think the flower's great but I also love the pop of blue. Now it might look different in person but from the pic the pop of blue is quite nice. Either way tho both cards are awesome!!

Amy Both cards are awesome! But I really like that pop of blue with the brown!

Oh Amy I like the tweaked one better. I agree with Sherry though a red one might have popped better than the blue one.

I love your versatility, girl! The revised card is great and I love your flowers! The first card is nice too, but you're right - that blue pop on it's own was a little strong. Your makeover is a success! :)

I love both versions-the first with the distressed flower is elegant and the 2nd is Chic with the blue. It just goes to show the art is whatever inspires you and how people love one over another and yest they are both so great. I love them both!

Oh Amy I am crossing my fingers and toes that you make the Cosmo Cricket DT!!! I, personally, think you're a shoe in. :) I love their products! I just bought a ton of it recently and hadn't had a chance to play with it yet.

I love both of the cards Amy, I love the blue and have to agree with Sherry that Red would have popped beautifully on this too but I have to say my fav is the flower, I will definately be having a go at one of those very soon.
Good luck with the DT, I hope you get it
