Curtain Call Reminder: nuts about you

This is post 3 of 3 for me today...Click HERE for Seize the Sketch and Click HERE for CAS-ology

I've had this Reverse Confetti Sweet Treat Tent die but never used it for treats, only as a different type of tag.

This has 2 of the panels adhered together with scor-tape.

I wanted to use the DeNami Design's Love Circle in this week's project.  It's inked up with Fresh Ink Red Currant and I teamed it up with the sentiment from the DeNami Design's Petit Four Nuts About You set.

I used a Jenni Bowlin tag, a sentiment from SRM and a skinnified Whisker Graphics Bitty Bag.

I was hoping the Snickers bars that I picked up would fit, they are too big, they are the regular size.  So for now, there is a Jif To Go that I popped into a glassine bag inside :)

Fun Fact:  I've never had a Snickers bar
(not much for bumpy food, I've gotten better but I really don't 'need' to like another chocolate bar)

I hope you play along with us over at

Curtain Call

Case Study #168: warm wishes

Happy Thanksgiving Eve my US Friends!

I'm back with my last blog post as the Case Study Challenge November Guestie.  I have had such a FUN time this month.  I was super lucky to be able to be inspired by Keisha Campbell's work!  A big shout out to Chupa and her oh-so-lovely Design Team!

Here we go:

Isn't this awesome?!

So I was inspired by

Design
tag
twine
text vs. images

Here's my version:

So I'm sure Keisha used the MFT Peek-a-Boo Squared die, I used my WPlus9 circle die...all the while I was eyeballing things.  I don't eyeball too good :)

I'm actually pretty pleased with the contrast using the red panel!  The paper is from the Artful Delight November Card kit.

The Brrr and warm wishes is ala SRM and the coffee images are Verve {trying to use what I have!} and I trimmed down the JB printed tag and attached it with Timeless Twine Natural twine.

Do you see that sweet heart veneer?

be.still.my.heart

Big surprise that I went coffee themed?

I can't wait to check out what Keisha and the CASE Study Design Team whipped up!

Fusion: celebrate #42

It's Fusion Friday!

We're up to challenge #17:

So what inspires you?

Here's what I came up with:

I gotta tell you, this is version 4.  I was having a heck of a time stamping that bloom for some reason.

I was inspired by the photo.  I love stamping on top of text but um, I went through my text panel that I originally wanted to use and then proceeded to go through 2 additional diner ticket panels...all panels were compliments of Jenni Bowlin.  It's amazing what kind of stash you find when you are forced to clean :)

Gotta share a funny story.  This card was in my light tent when Darin stopped into the craft room.  What does he zoom into?  The number 42.

Not the bloom.  Not the awesome Neon Ink.

The number 42.

This is when I insert my lack of sporting knowledge...I'm so NOT a sportser.

Read HERE regarding number 42.

**edited to add additional trivia regarding the number 42 and THIS, yes, from Darin again.

Be sure to check out my Fusion teamies:

How are you inspired?

Shine bright...

Hello and Happy Sunday!

I was hoping this weekend was going to be filled with crafting and staying in my jammies all-day-long, but it isn't quite working out that way.

That's okay, it's all good.

I've been behind on challenges.  There are so many out there, it tends to get a bit overwhelming for me since I have a limited time for crafting:

Yes, I love color.

Yes, I love patterns.

Yes, I love texture.

I've been wanting to ink up the Strictly Sentiment set by WPlus9, a steal at only $6!  The "happy birthday" has been selectively inked, meaning I dropped the 'to you!'.

I was patting myself on the back using those Basic Grey pins...to coordinate with the sentiment.

I was {thoroughly} inspired by the

Seriously, what's not to love about all those colors and goodness?!!!!!

I also managed to incorporate Lisa's fantastic sketch:

no. 5

I've been a long-time fan of Lisa's sketches!!!  She rocks.

supplies:
cardstock:  PTI
paper:  Basic Grey Fact and Fiction
stamps:  WPlus9 Strictly Sentiments
ink:  memento tuxedo
other:  Basic Grey Fact and Fiction Pin/button, Jenni Bowlin canvas bloom and misc pearl

I used The Cutting Cafe's Beautiful Blooms  for the vase and the sentiment is from Polaroid and Camera Fun.

I found the Jenni Bowlin blooms in my stash....perfect for that Cutting Cafe Vase, dontcha think?!  I topped everything off with some Tuxedo Black Timeless Twine.

Just Saying Hello...

Hello!

Yahoo for the very long weekend!

I stamped the tag with the Hero Arts Large Fabric Design and dry embossed it with my houndstooth folder.

I fussy cut the Hero Art messages sentiment.

...added some Jillibean blooms.

Check out the gold thread...swoon...love that stuff!

I'm playing along with the gals over at Hero Arts:

I'm taking the day off from the blog tomorrow but should be back on Friday:)

**edited to add**

In my perfect world I put together all my projects and posts over the weekend.  That way I can pop back in and review my posts with 'fresh eyes'...I catch most of my typos then too:)  So as I'm looking at this {it's tuesday morning} I'm realizing that this card reminds me of someone

peace and serenity

I've been challenging myself to design Christmas cards using non-holiday oriented paper....whaddya think?

A combo of Jenni Bowlin {paper} and Melissa Frances {flashcard}.

I used Maraschino ala The Twinery for a pop of color.

I was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketch

I haven't played along with those gals in awhile...trying to get back into the sketch challenges!

lucky girl.

Please check out my The Play Date Cafe post HERE.

Hello!

I have a fun little card to share today...full of texture:

I'm totally smitten with the Danita Art images over at 100 Proof Press!

I've nestled her on a much hoarded Jenni Bowlin Bingo Card...I'm t r y i n g to let go...to not hoard.  Can you tell what she's holding...a cork heart.

The card base is Gmund woodgrain cardstock...this stuff is awesome...highly ingrained, thick cardstock..another goodie I'm trying to not hoard.

What are the things you tend to hoard?

Just a reminder...

For you chickies that signed up for the Let's Get Trendy Now 2...you have until October 12th to upload your projects into the Flickr account {or link back via the appropriate blog post} to be eligible for some very fun prizes!

Did you know that this is second edition of Let's Get Trendy Now?

During our first session, one of our prompts was to use confetti:

The pic of my girl was taken by my boy.

The confetti was punched out of Basic Grey Plumeria's collection...they are actually sandwiched between acetate to keep them intact.  The Plumeria blooms were fussy cut.....

The girl is a senior this year...she recently received an AP Scholar with Distinction Award, earned when she was a junior.  I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of this girl...how much I love her...how much she makes me laugh...how much she drives me c-r-a-z-y...

I'm beyond thankful for my children...

I can't wait to see how you're inspired!!!  Link up over at the Paper Issues blog!

Sunday, March 11, 2012

you are in my thoughts...

I made this for a gal at work....

Her cat passed away...and I wanted to let her know that I was thinking of her....

I combined some October Afternoon with a Jenni Bowlin butterfly {I tell you, I never tire of those sweet butterflies!}.  The sentiment is a super old A Muse one that I must have picked up from someone...gotta love those vintage A Muse sentiments....I gotta because I have a gazillion of them..LOL.

I've been having a SWEET weekend...check out what posted on thee Basic Grey blog yesterday:

Funny story behind the card...it went to my girl for Girls' Day...so I had her look up the Basic Grey blog and the expression on her face?  priceless.

lucky me...

I've been loving the clean & simple look ...

I also love sentiment-less cards...
it's all about the handwritten note on the interior...

a big shout out to the FAB Ginger
She sent me a Sweet 'n Sassy Gift card and I picked up a couple die sets and a digi stamp...the hearts on my card
were made by a die that I picked up over there...Thanks soooooo much Ginger!!!  She is who introduced me to Sweet Sebastian...there's a new update on Sebastian....can you believe that he received over 500 cards and packages...you know what?  That makes me so genuinely happy...there is so much goodness out in the world...soooo many kind people that will take time out of their busy day to make a little boy smile....that, my friends, is priceless.  I'm pretty sure that Ginger didn't know what she was getting herself into when she did that shout out on her blog about cards for Sebastian...the ripple effect...it is a wonderful thing.

This is a multi-tasking card:
