Love Life...

I loaded up on the clear and frosted Shortcut bases...it's about time I played with them even though they are an absolute pill to photog:) This is one of the frosted blanks...

This is going postal today so I don't want to ruin the surprise but it is going to someone that is going through a rough patch...or at least their friend is...a really rough patch and I just wanted her to know that I was thinking of her. It is chock full of Cosmo Cricket...the PTI ribbon is covering up the A Muse sentiment a smidge but it says: "Greetings from Seattle". Dontcha think the coffee mug is appropriate for that sentiment?

Next up is Laura's sketch 43...which I love and can see using over and over again...

I used some retired MME papers, specifically the Confetti line. I was drawn to the bold & bright colors and patterns.
Three out of the four panels have been stitched...I love the contrast of the white thread...brings out the Stampin' Up rub on "thinking of you" and helps make the Jenni Bowlin butterfly *pop*.

Let me give you some background on this particular card. I was asked by someone to make a card... It's a sad story, it is for someone that thought he had beat his cancer but he hasn't...Do you know how hard it was for me to figure out what to make? It was VERY hard...feedback ladies...feedback... I know that masculine cards typically are tough for any paper crafter but given the added situation...oy vey.

♥♥
Edited to add that the lovely Sandra let me know that my 'thinking of you" card is on the SCS Facebook page:) awwwww...that made my day!♥♥

Ultimately, I hope that when the recipient opens the envy, it'll make him smile...what do you think?

A good reminder to...

Love Life.

these are BOTH fab, miss amy--i LOVE the coffee & snowflakes to sum up seattle!!! (what? you couldn't work in the space needle too, lol??!?!)

the second one is particularly brilliant however, and i thought so even before you explained the circs. i think you've walked the line PERFECTLY here: it's masculine but cheerful, it's bright but not manic, it's full of life and hope and beauty and thoughtfulness...and I GUARANTEE it will be the highlight of his day!!! ♥♥♥

They are beautiful and the butterfly is perfect. At such a delicate time in life the butterfly is a perfect symbol to convey the card giver's message.

2 very fabulous cards! I LUV the coffee mug & the snow flakes & you tied that bow ribbon PERFECTLY!!!

and to answer your question, I use Memento ink (the eye drop size.) They go very well with clear stamps.

What fabulous cards (as always of course!) I love the Seattle themed card, you're such a fabby friend!
Your second card must've been one of the toughest to make but you've done a beautiful job! It's masculine but really thoughtful and caring at the same time.

Both of your cards are fantastic hun. The first makes me want to snuggle up with a hot chocolate and a blanket. The second is perfect for your friends, friend, he'll love it - it must have been sooooo hard for you to make (emotionally). x

Such heartfelt cards but I think a butterfly is good representation of hope and growth. Sad cards are always the hardest ones to make, but you rocked it girl.

Yes, that sentiment is perfect for this adorable coffee themed card. I love how you placed the "steam" and I LOVE LOVE that yummy polka dot ribbon! Your friend will certainly appreciate this!

Your butterfly card is wonderful, Amy. It's difficult to make masculine cards and especially for this occasion but you've created the most amazing and perfect card. I know he will appreciate your labor of love.♥♥ Kay

Great cards Amy! I especially like the first one, gorgeous! I think you did a really good job with the second card. Men are hard to make for as it is, but like you say with the added situation. Well done :o)
