love the card!

I've been following the Pinterest thing and I'm interested to see how it develops. I haven't deleted my own boards, but really the only pins I'd be sad to lose are the recipes. I'm trying to go through my recipe board now and make up recipe cards for the ones we've tried and like. Just in case one day the site has gone "poof!"

Love your card. Love those stamps. Have to check out the store. My style of stamp.
As for Pinterest, I have not pinned but I love the idea behind Pinterest. On the other hand, I understand the difference between viewing someone's work and "saving" it to my board where someone else might take it and "use" it. I see the potential danger and understand the photographer's concern.

Amy, I'll be honest...on PI...I'm not sure. I've read the stuff and read it again. So...I'm not much help. Sorry. I feel like the only time I can really look at it is when I'm traveling for work.

Your card..wow! Vintage gorgeousness!

gorgeous card. as for pinterest, it's a colossal waste of time for me...since i can pin to my hearts content, but have no idea how to get back to view what i've pinned to my boards. lol i'll be deleting my pinterest account since i don't use it often enough to warrant having it.

Fabulous card Amy :)

I will probably upset a few people by saying this, but I believe that when you put something onto the web you are being naive to think no-one is going to 'use' it. Is that not why we post?... to share ideas and give inspiration to others. I have a Pinterest account, although I don't use it much personally. However, Joy will have to stop making those fabulous inspiration boards for the Jay Gee's challenges :(

LOVE your vintage card! You've used some of my favorite colors!

Not sure how I feel about Pinterest yet. Thought I would give it a try for a while and see what all the fuss was about. It might end up like Twitter for me. I tried that but soon realized it really wasn't useful to me. As far as the copyright issue goes—not to clear on that either. I haven't pinned anyone's artwork or photography. I've pinned photos of products I love, I'm hoping that wouldn't be a problem because I'm actually promoting them. I can see how artists, photographers and others that create visual materials might take issue with it. For example; When I decided to use Design Seeds color palettes on my blog I asked their permission, followed their copyright guidelines and credited them properly. I'm not sure how all of that relates to Pinterest. I'll have to read more about it.

Thanks for bringing up the topic Amy!

love your card layout and design as usual... erm, about Pinterest.. i don't know what the debate was about but I seldom use it ... hehehehehe
I'm torn on Pinterest... I can see why some are being stuffy about the copyright issues...but at the same time... BEFORE Pinterest... if I liked a tutorial, or a project, or even a recipe or photo, I have this little button built right into my tool bar called "BOOKMARK"... same thing... I am copying their link to my computer to go back at anytime and look at it, copy it, lift it, save it to my computer desktop... to me Pinterest is just one giant Bookmark feature.... as long as you give credit where's it due (which I do)... then people need to stop being so stuffy about it. Not everyone is out to 'steal' peeps ideas, this industry (which is probably who most of Pinterest's users are) knows to give credit, do we always?? No. But even if there wasn't Pinterest, those same peeps that don't have the good moral sense to give credit....then they would be still be stealing ideas and not giving credit anyways... I haven't deleted my boards, 99.9999999999% of my stuff pinned is from blogs that I visit, and each time I tell the person I am pinning it... if they don't want me too, then they can send me a message to tell me that... but no one has, they all have been honored that I have pinned something they made!

Anyhoo....soapbox over....lol!! I loveeeeeeeeeeeee your card! I loveeeeeeeeeee the colors and loving the vintage feel to it!!!

Wow, your card is gorgeous, Amy! I so love those earth-tone colors and the papers. And what gorgeous stamped vintage labels. Also really love the trio of buttons with the pearl centers.
I have always been kinda iffy about Pinterest. I've got an account, but don't use it. Did try pinning a couple of things at the beginning, just to try to figure it all out, but that's been it for me. Occasionally, I go look to see the beautiful things. But just have never really gotten into it. Now with the debate going on, I'm even more hesitant to get involved.

Love the card Amy and am now wishing I would of grabbed up that stamp set too.

As for Pinterest I am a frequent pinner, but don't really go back to it once it is pinned so will have to decide whether to shut it down or keep it and see what happens. I agree with Jay Gee though, when you put it on the internet you know people are going to view it and if they like it they are either going to copy and save it to their hard drive or they are going to PIN it.

I absolutely adore your card! I may have to purchase a few Cat's Meow stamp sets now. Thanks for the new addiction! lol :)

Love your card, Amy,and you do subdued well! As for Pinterest, my daughter told me there were issues and I haven't deleted my boards. I do understand the issues and have stopped pinning unless I know the blog and have asked in the past. I still have boards up, but I haven't heard all the chatter, so fill me in. I think it is sad that we don't have a place like this with the right legals, it may be out of control, but I do know how it feels to have the copyrights violated. When you put something on your blog it is out there and anyone can copy and you won't know it, if you find out, it hurts. However, there is no real way to stop average person. As for Pinterest, I enjoy a little time and don't obsess, if I have to take the boards down, so be it, they should have had their ducks in a row before they debuted it! Have a wonderful day, Amy!

How do you do this Amy? Whip up great cards everyday? I love the vintage feel of this card!

Like Julie, I am using Pinterest as my bookmarks... Aren't all the content linked to the original sources? Once you put something on your blog there is no control where it is going to appear anyway... I am keeping my boards.

Hey teamie :) I love that I get to say that now! Hee!
Lovin' this vintage beauty! Totally rockin' that DP too, girlie!
Hmmmm....Pinterest debate is certainly food for thought. I do believe that whatever you put out on the Internet you do so at the risk of others using it. I thought Pinterest removed content if copyright concerns arose and I also was aware of a fair use policy with copyright and figured that acknowledging the source (when you click on the pic) and putting a comment about the pin would deemed fair use...! I certainly don't mind people pinning my work and I love the idea of sharing inspiration. I'll be keeping my boards for the moment but will have an eye on what's happening legally!
Hugs!

i LOVE this vintage card :)

ok my thoughts on pinterest:
don't use it that much but when i do it is as julie said, for a bookmark as it is nice to have a photo to see what the site is about. ;)
i only pin someones work (cards) if they have a watermark on them.
i always watermark my items so if someone does pin them i wouldn't mind at all :)
once it is on my blog it is out there in cyber land anyway.

Wow! Really elegant card Amy! I love the entire composition...neat stitching and great buttons! :)

I haven't deleted any of my boards...I really like seeing all my inspirations in one spot.Personally, I feel that the internet is a place for sharing. And if due credit is given, I don't see the sharing as a problem.

Love the gorgeous vintage design.

I'm thinking of deleting mine too. So many "social media" programs out there and soooo little time. I can't keep up anymore. I just want to craft and not be pressured to join this and that. Can't a sistah just scrap all day and leave the other stuff behind???? LOL :) :)

Ooh so pretty!! Pinterest: im going to stick it out for now and see what happens but I think they really fooled people with how everything works.

I love the gorgeous, rich colours on this card and the dark brown embossing is scrumptious!

As for Pinterest... bummer! I only just started getting into it. I totally see Kirsten's point about having a choice of where your photos end up. However, as the digital age progresses I think copywriting issues are only going to get harder and harder to deal with.

Man, that is one quality, beautiful card!! Loooove the rich colors, not sure what else to call them! If they had a flavor, it'd be coffee&chocolat!! hehe

Ohhh the Pinterest debate. I loove the idea of it and actually everything about it, but the site DOES take the whole copyrighted piece of material rather than just thumbnails. I haven't signed up because that's been in the back of my mind for month's now. I hate really falling in love with something, like I really/truly/totally did with Napster {I downloaded hundreds of megs of songs back when people weren't even talking about hundreds of megs!!}, and I downloaded from people who I know were sued and had to pay. Me? Was fortunate because I chose not to allow people to download FROM me, so somehow that got some of us off the hook. I realize that the founder didn't start Pinterest with the intention of defying copyright laws, but neither did Napster. We know what's paved with good intentions, not don’t we!!!??

I think a lot of the issue is with people who use pinterest without linking to the original source. If a blog I follow links to a tutorial, I go to the original site, pin it straight from there, and mention the name/blog where I got it. I think I have only once re-pinned someone's pin.

I never got into browsing on pinterest- the boards I have are basically replacing the bookmarks I have in my web browser and on my google reader. I am not deleting my boards yet, but if I need to in the future, I'll just go back to bookmarking.
jen said…
LOOOOVE your card- and kinda freaked out about the pinterest debate! I read your link. yikes. I just made dinner from a pin tonight! (it was so yummy!) Maybe I need to start watermarking my pics? I like having ideas in one spot, but boo to copyright infringement. (I don't have any copyright legalease on my blog at this point). *sigh* what to do?
C said…
My first reaction was oooo...cool vintage. Love it!
C said…
Hmmm...been thinking about Pinterest. All the links go back to the original poster so how can that be infringement if you're not claiming it as your own? I'm sure the lawyers will find some way though.
