citrus got real | Essentials by Ellen

If you follow me on IG, you may have seen my latest additions from Ellen Hutson - Essentials by Ellen.  I always LOVE Julie Ebersole's releases, this one is no exception with citrus, coffee + hair buns.

Today I'm featuring the Squeeze The Day set.  I was first introduced to Pink Lemons via Blue Apron (Big Fan of their WW meals).  Julie is so clever with her sentiments...

I stamped the images with Versafine  Onyx Black on Watercolor paper.  I dug out my Zigs!  I haven't used those in awhile.  We've been using them on MnT's for crafty day (thanks Toni!)...I kind of forgot how much I love them.  I generally color zig on zig.

I made this especially for a friend of mine, let's see, I've known her for a very long time.  I worked with her via my first 'real' job so it's been a couple of years.  She has 2 kids, her oldest is going to college this Fall, out of state.  As a Momma that has gone through that twice, it's tough.  My oldest went to the University of Washington, lived in the dorms in Year One and I was a mess.  She was only 40 minutes away from home but the transition was tough.  My youngest (who just graduated from college last month) went out of state to NY.  I guess I should be glad that I had a bit of experience before that happened.  Honestly, still trying to get use to him not coming back home.

So although I haven't made her boy's graduation card yet, I knew just what I wanted to design for her.  This card will include an invite to Bubble Tea because, well, that makes everything better.

So that's where pink lemonade comes from, lol!! (chocolate milk must come from chocolate cows then...) LOVE this card!! That black and white paper is fabulous and those lemons just pop against it. Your friend is going to be so touched by your card and your empathy with her situation. All but one of our children are scattered to the four winds. It's hard, but we do what we can. She'll appreciate that you know how this feels. Sweet card. xo Bev
