Have a Cool Yule | Essentials by Ellen Challenge + SALE!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!  How are you going to celebrate?  I actually did a pre-party yesterday and crafted all day...in my jammies.  YES!  Here's one of my projects, I was channeling my inner Julie Ebersole.

I may have purchased the Ellen Hutson - Essentials by Ellen - September Release and finally got to play with some of the new goodies!

The Alpine Window by Julie Ebersole is FANTASTIC.  So fun and lots of options.  Check out this YouTube that explains some different ways to use this set.  I decided to design a spherical scene with dimension.

I cut each layer out with Neenah Solar White 110.  They've been colored with copics and then covered with Hero Arts Sparkle embossing powder.  Oh that stuff is AWESOME.   I like to think that the little house now looks like a gingerbread house :)

I backed the scenery with a layer of Hero Arts Decorative Woodgrain Vellum.  Isn't the Essentials By Ellen Oyster Gray 100 lb lovely?

I topped my tag off with the Oyster Gray cardstock and did a bit of embossing on the bottom with the Sparkle powder.  The sentiment is from the new Mountain Holiday by Julie Ebersole stamp set.

My card was inspired by the September Essentials Challenge:

Ellen Hutson | Essentials by Ellen | New Stamps & Dies from Brandi Kincaid

Happy Sunday!  I'm so excited to shared some super fun new products released today by Ellen Hutson.  Brandi Kincaid has new products that are being added to her Leading Ladies collection.

First up is the new Essentials by Ellen, Leading Ladies - Teacher Lady by Brandi Kincaid:

So I'll explain what I did and the story behind who the card is going to.  I racked my brain about some type of school or teacher type themed paper I could use and then spied the notebook style in the Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow set.  I trimmed it down and use a hole punch to finish it off.

Chuckling, I color the leading ladies' outfits as I would personally wear them.   Gotta love the jeans, denim shirt, orange sweater + black flats, perfect.  I stamped a bunch of the items in the set, like the book, notebook, ruler, glue and mechanical pencil.  I stamped a sentiment on the notebook.

The water bottle is from the Essentials by Ellen, Leading Ladies - Woodsy Lady by Brandi Kincaid.  Yes, there is a perfectly awesome mug in the Teacher Lady set, this is going to a non-coffee drinker (GASP).

I really wanted to incorporate the World's Best Teacher sentiment so I used the Lawn Fawn Mini Picture Frames Lawn Cuts.

A bit of background on the card....Darin's daughter is going into her 2nd year of teaching this fall.  She has found the perfect job and I couldn't be happier for her.  I had the opportunity to volunteer in her classroom, actually for a field trip to the Space Needle/Seattle Science Center.  It was so fun to 'see her in action'.  Her kids loved her and you could really tell that she was enjoying herself.

How lucky to be in an occupation that you love and that you excel at.  I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up...LOL.

I'm linking up my card to the Inspired by Challenge:

Next up is Essentials by Ellen, Leading Ladies - Medical Lady by Brandi Kincaid:

So yes, I combined here with the following other friends (from left to right):

The sentiment is a combo from the Essentials by Ellen Clear Stamps - Be Strong by Brandi Kincaid + Essentials by Ellen dies - Strong by Brandi Kincaid

I was talking to my friend and walking buddy, Laura about an idea of combining several of the Leading Ladies on one card with an empowering sentiment.  It reminds me of this quote:

Here's to Strong Women.
May we know them
May we be them.
May we raise them.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Ellen Hutson LLC | Essentials by Ellen | New Stamps & Dies from Julie Ebersole

Today is the day...the new Essentials by Ellen Stamps & Dies from Julie Ebersole are now AVAILABLE!

Here's how I was inspired, I designed a shaker card:

I decided to go aqua + orange, perfect to go with the Hero Arts - Seashore Sequins.   The paper is by Sunny Studio Stamps - Polka Dot Parade.

The mermaid tail has been stamped in Lawn Fawn Jet black and colored with various colors of alcohol ink markers.  The sentiment was stamped in Catherine Pooler's All That Jazz.

Who doesn't love a shaker card?!  This makes a perfect birthday card!

If you've been following me for any length of time, you won't be surprised by this:

I stamped the Essentials by Ellen, Wonky Backdrops By Julie Ebersole in Catherine Pooler's Flirty Fuchsia and All That Jazz.  I used the Frap cup from Essentials by Ellen, Oh Frappe by Julie Ebersole.  A bit of masking and then I stamped the unicorn inside the cup.

Can you catch the glitter on the Unicorn's mane?

Perhaps you recognize the color combo for the Starbucks Unicorn Frap?

Keeping things real here, I've never had a Unicorn Frap.  It's sadly due to extreme allergies but that doesn't mean I don' think they look like a ton of fun.

I LOVE that sentiment and perfect for the Birthday Girl that this card was hand delivered to.

That's it for me, make sure you check out the entire new release, affiliate shopping links at no extra cost to you:

I'm so excited, there's a new Essential by Ellen release by Brandi Kincaid!  I'm a huge fan of her Leading Ladies collection!  Today I'm featuring the Woodsy Lady by Brandi Kincaid.

I had so much fun with her...if I was outdoorsy, that's what I would wear...green puffy vest, grey tee and shorts.

That squirrel, too cute!

Yes to S'mores!

I used the basket and to go cup from the Leading Ladies - Cozy Lady by Brandi Kincaid.  I had so much fun filling it up with that awesome thermos and roasted marshmallows!

Heffy Doodle: Wheely Great Day

So during the last Ellen Hutson LLC Sale, I promised myself that I didn't 'need' any other new sets.  I have a basket full of things that haven't been inked up.  I ended up popping this cute Heffy Doodle, Hello Squeakheart set in my cart:

Okay, those 'lil guys are adorable, aren't they?!  They have the best pun sentiments too, those kill me!

Honestly, I wanted to use all of the cute images in the set but decided on the three and then made my own 'cheesy stencil' with Hero Arts Infinity Circle Dies.  I topped everything off with paint specks with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi black watercolor.

Everyday Hero

Hello and Happy Mother's Day.  I'll chat more about that at the end of my post, let's start with my project:

I thought today was perfect to post a card that features the Ellen Hutson LLC - Essentials by Ellen - Leading Ladies - Everyday Hero Lady by Brandi.  She's been stamped with Lawn Fawn Jet Black and colored with various copics.  Her cape is green, of course, my favorite color.  I've paper pieced her top with Pattern Happy's Robots 6x6.

The background was made using the Hero Arts Infinity 12 Point Dies.  The green panel (and the Hero Lady) are on dimensional foam squares.

Did you hear that Ellen Hutson LLC is having a Mother's Day SALE?!

Who are your Everyday Heroes?  My number one Everyday Hero is my Momma.  She immigrated to the United States in the late 50's.  She went to high school in Seattle and met some great friends that still has strong friendships with.  She became a single Mom when I was in 2nd grade.  We moved from Vancouver to Seattle.  This woman that barely spoke english, never worked outside the home found a full time job and provided for my 2 older brothers and I in a way I never truly appreciated until I became a single mom in 2006.

Here's a pic that I took yesterday with my Momma and brother #2.

Here's to all of the Everyday Heroes....whether it is an awesome teacher, women that teach their children strength + compassion....the possibilities are endless.
