classic wedding

Classic Wedding...what does that mean to you?  I think of a formal ceremony & reception.  Do 'regular' people still do those?

I made this for a dear friend of mine that is getting married this know who you are so please don't look any further since you haven't received the card yet!

We spent some quality time together at Paper Source looking for wedding invite ideas for her...sooo many options that it was overwhelming for her.

She ended up going home with some embossed DIY invites...not sure if she'll keep them, but they are gorgeous.

Anywho's......I made this card to send to her....used my new Crate Paper Goodness, the sentiment is ala SRM.

I'm so very excited for her wedding...I haven't been to one in a long time..I'll live vicariously through her...if you follow me on Pinterest, I have several wedding oriented boards...the inspiration is never ending.

My card was inspired by the fab sketch over at Get Sketchy!

I made a new discovery at J's the other day...I went there to drop off some stuff for Ginny {Waving!}...I made the 'mistake' of actually going into the store {with my coupon!}...

Here's today's card:

Sorry for the photog...I just couldn't get it perfect...but here's my discovery....just when I was thinking that J's is such a huge box store and they don't carry anything other than staples for me {glue dots etc} I found the ColorBok Flea Market.  Sooooooooo CUTE.

This card doesn't look very labor intensive but for some reason I decided to make 4 of them...the Colorbok paper is 8x8 so I didn't want to waste any of that fun text panel....lotsa you see the doily?  The felt bloom is vintage MM..gotta love the Cappuccino Baker's Twine from The Twinery...woot woot...I just won some of their new colors from Jay Gee's Nook!  The sentiment is the co-branding efforts of EAD Designs and Paper Smooches!

I was inspired by the sketch over at Cardabilities:

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!!!

Here's my card for today:

I was inspired by the Moxie Fab World:

Originally I was going to mat the ivory panel onto chocolate cardstock but happened to check out the London Flag and switched it to the Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red...I actually like the end result better..makes that panel pop.

Now hop over to Stephanie's at {Dream Create Inspire}.

cardstock: Gmund Savannah, Stampin' Up riding hood red, misc ivory
other: EAD Designs London Town Stickerz

best wishes...

Sunday...already?  I start my new job tomorrow...I was telling the kids that I'm going to have to lay out my it is the first day of school for me:)

Okay, today's card:

I typically post my Jingle Belles card on Wednesday's but I had it finished up so why not mix things up:)

The latest challenge is:

incorporate holiday foliage into your masterpiece

Can you believe this is week 13?

I have a minimum of 13 cards but probably at least 25?  I should count:)  I actually made 2 of today's card.  There is something about Making Memories Christmas lines...they consistently rock.  This paper is delish, the poinsettia's are flocked...gotta love flocked paper.  The stamp/die cut is PTI...hmmm...thinking it might be the first time I used those goodies.

I might just be back later...I wanted to play with the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger...I was thrilled that Cath featured one of my thank you cards on Friday in her Out & About in the Moxie Fab World:)

what's cookin'

Happy Saturday!

Today's Card Patterns day!

Here's my card:

Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps!

Check out the sketch for this week:

I used one of the aprons in the Apron Strings set.  I love aprons...via images and the real thing...funny thing is, I'm not much of a cook/baker:)  Sssssshhhhhh....It's all for show..LOL.  People seem to be surprised when they find out I'm not domestic like that:)

All my paper is ala Melissa Frances' Kitschy Kitchen that I received from the oh-so-super Sherry!  Umm.....used the twill letters in my Card Patterns card last week...didn't intend to use them again but that circle panel was screaming for more embellishing!  The felt bloom and button are ala Making Memories...

Thanks so much for stopping by, we hope that you'll join in the Card Patterns fun!!!!

much appreciated...

Yesterday was absolutely was in the low 60's...I tell you, living in the Pacific Northwest, we truly enjoy our sunny days:)  I had a lovely lunch at the Boat Street Cafe in Seattle with a fab group of gals...thanks girls!!!

I'm on a huge thank you mode...all the paper is Stampin' Up...the sentiment is from co-branding efforts of EAD Designs and Paper is from the Thank you Sentiments stickerz set!

I was so very inspired by the latest Waltzing Mouse sketch:

Purples aren't my normal color palette that I tend to work with....that's what the color challenges are get you to work outside your comfort zone.  Check out the CR84FN Color Challenge:

Do you see the embossed polka dots on the lavender panel?  Well, thanks to debbie standard's challenge over at Yvonne Yam's blog, I did something different with the panel....

For the first time, I used the sanding block that I've had for a couple years...I sanded the embossed polkas:)  It definitely isn't as visible because I used Stampin' Up cardstock instead of Core’dination’s goodness, but you can tell a smidge:)  It's a technique that I hadn't used before, so that's pretty coolio....I'll be on the search for some Core'dination's:)

I'm the hostess over at EAD Designs today...would love it if you'd pop over there to see my project:)

**birthday shout out**

My little girl turns 16 today....time flies....quickly.

My greatest and happiest job is being a Momma...I love my kidlets more than they could ever know...

Come on back tomorrow for a fun Skipping Stones Design blog hop!

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

keep calm and drink java...

I've been having such a fun and r-e-l-a-x-i-n-g week....more on that in a smidge...I wanted to share a card with you:

Jolly by Golly!

I haven't played with my Jolly by Golly in a long how fun is this?!  See that green thread?  My vintage green thread that just so happened to snap on me and scared me to smithereens.....good grief!  You can't really tell by the pic but the steam from the journaling spot has Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds on it:)

I was inspired by Allison's sketch over at the fabbie Jingle Belles Challenge blog!

Love her whimsical sketch..I actually pondered it for awhile...but knew that if I just jumped in, things would fall into place...I knew that my Cosmo Cricket goods would work for me:)

Speaking of the fabbie Allison...did you happen to catch her blog post about Word Verification & Comment Windows?   I ask that you just pop over and read about it...especially if you perhaps use Word Verification on your blog...

**chit chat**

Oh yes, you'll be seeing a ton of these Keep Calm images...

a big shout out to Linby that directed me to the fab site:)

I've been so happy to catch up on my sleep this week...I have the week off and start my new job on Monday...soooo excited for the change!!!!

Hello and welcome to Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge day!

Check out the latest sketch by our March Sketch Artist, Heidi Blankenship:
Look at the set I was able to feature, Chick Chat:

Peeps and Chicks...gotta love this fun set!

I had fun with some MME Bloom & Grow...which is now archived by MME.

The interior says:

From one cute chick to another

The back has the:

Not Cheep

I'm getting pretty good at using the zig zag around shapes...cracks me up though if my mind starts to wander because then turns to 'whimsical stitching'....

You won't wanna miss the fabbie goodness from the other gals on the Skipping Stones Design Team:

Check out my card for today:

The house/tulip are from the Little Houses Vinyl Rub-Ons sheet:

The tulip bloom is on a dimensional:)

The Miss You sentiment is from the Caged Vinyl Rub-Ons Sheet:

I was inspired by the latest Limelight Papercrafts sketch:

The challenge was to use green, that's easy smeasy for me since I LOVE green:)

The cardstock is PTI kraft and all the patterned paper is Pink Paislee's Old School...Jenn has one more set available in her shop!!  LOVE working with the canvas borders, they add such fab dimension to the card...

Don't forget about the current EAD Designs Spring Fling Color Challenge!

Check out my girl:)

She's such a good knew it was going to happen right?  I had to use one of the fun Mustache Vinyl Rub-On's with a coffee mug!  So my girl is a leftie....this particular mug is designed so when she holds it the pink mustache shows...righties will have a black mustache:)

Blogging about the girl, it was a flurry of birthday festivities for her this last weekend...slumber party on Friday night...Family party on Saturday baby girl will be turning 16 this week...that is a very SWEET 16...

I love her to pieces...can't believe that she's going to be 16....

Happy Saturday!

Hopefully I'm sleeping in today...yesterday was my last day at my job and last night my girl had a little slumber party..oy.

Today is Card Patterns day!

I wanted to unleash the scrappy side of my creativity...I'm such a fan of a ton of gals that have that's card is filled with so much goodness:

I've been hoarding that gorgeous muslin bloom that my bloggie friend Sherry made....doesn't it look fab with the twill alpha that was also a RAK from my bloggie friend Tami!  All the pattern paper is Basic Grey, love, love it!

Check out this week's Card Patterns Sketch 107:

I hope that you'll join in the Card Patterns fun!!!

I decided to recognize the Bloggers day of Silence yesterday in honor of all the people that were touched by the Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan....all the devastation over there just breaks my heart.
