This card design is compliments of CPS 104, it also works for card*a*licious 15, which is a card with no sentiment. I have a love/hate relationship with love it for their deals but hate it for enabling me. I bought their My Minds Eye Dreamy extravaganza a couple weeks ago...the papers on this card along with the diecut are all from that set. Okay, the button is from Peachycheap's Making Memories {note}worthy far my most useful purchase. The red circle trim on the bottom of my card is Making Memories too. Can you tell that I outlined the panels with my Marvy Twinklette pen?

This is definitely nice and spring-y!! Something that Washingtonian's need as we have been hit with snow again. I know that it is only February, but it seems like we've had enough of the stuff this winter...

Good Morning Sunshine!!

I hope that you've been following the 365 Cards blog....Pam has been introducing all the Design Team members and today is my day :) Our first challenge was to create a card organizer....I really went outside the box for this one. "d" was doing some organizing in his kitchen and was going to toss this aluminum colander...I quickly took it because I knew that it would come in handy later.

I've covered the colander with some of my favorite things...I dehoarded a Jenni Bowlin bingo card and a fabulous vintage button!! I really love the Stampin' Up Good Morning Sunshine designer fun and happy.

I hope that you join along in the 365 Cards Card Organizer Challenge...I'd love to see what you create!
paper: stampin' up good morning sunshine, speckletone kraft accessories: thickers alpha, american crafts flower, t $ spot bling, misc crochet lace trim, jenni bowlin bingo card, vintage button, stampin' up round tab punch, packaging specialties ribbon

Sweet Lotus

For those of you that have been following my blog, you know how much I adore Amy Butler...I did some shopping therapy {more on that in a smidge} and picked up some things from her Lotus line. The bottom layer on the gatefold Flourishes transparency is actually 4 x 5 inches {10 inches folded in half, top fold}. You just need to slip off the Paper Source Satin ribbon to open up the card. I used Laura's sketch #20 on 2s4y. The diecut is ala the Amy Butler line too.

Shopping therapy....sometimes a girl just needs it, kwim? A really good friend of mine was laid off...unfortunately, there were others too. I'm very grateful that I still have my job, but it was definitely tough yesterday....I realize that it is happening everywhere...downsizing...scary stuff...anywho's I know that my friend enjoys Amy Butler as much as I do so this was created especially for her.

Live in the Now

This is for the Caardvarks Kraft Macaroni & Cheese challenge...How fun is that?!! I absolutely adore the look of working with it. This is a dimensional filled design...each of the SU Top Note layers are on dimensionals along with the SU Butterfly. The sentiment is ala Jennifer Pebbles' garage sale last summer which is Rhonna Farrer Spendor word art clear stickers. The Kitchen Pink Polka dot paper is ala A Muse and the preppy striped grosgrain is M's $ spot. Whenever I team up that striped grosgrain with kraft it just screams "Preppy" to about you?

Haiku Birthday

Do you know how many tins I have? Tins that I recycle or peeps recycle to me...I have way too many to count, one of these days I'll actually organize them too {gasp!}. Anyways, I took this tin from Bath & Body Works and altered it for a certain someone's upcoming birthday. Okay, it is for my Mom...MOM if you are reading the red x in the upper the red x in the upper right and call me.
I made the mistake of telling my Mom that I added the Google translator...She gave it a try and she said that she couldn't understand the Japanese translation at all { you think it is because I use the word peeps, FABulous, Magnificent, Perfect-O?!}.

Anywho's, I decided to use Jen's sfytt...I had to turn the oval in order to be able to fit my happy birthday stamp...gotta have that one on it :) What better paper to use than Stampin' Up Haiku? I know that she thinks the Hero Arts Japanese Doll images are sweet so I went ahead and added that too. The narrow strip of paper actually has black Marvy Twinklette pen on the edges to define it a smidge. I copic'd the Doll and added some sweet rosy cheeks along with paper piecing her kimono.

****MOM if you are still reading or that red 'x' NOW...****

My Mom, she's a rebel :) I'm sooo very grateful for her...she has always been there for me, especially for the last couple of years.

Okay, back to the project, inside the tin is an altered mini comp book and roller pen...easy smeasy, I mean it took me HOURS to design this project {gotta talk it up to my MOM because I know she is still reading...} Oy Vey, Japanese Mom' gotta love them and if YOU have one, you know what I mean...Okay, I'm a Japanese Mom but it's different, kwim? LOL

Happy Monday to you!!!

The Reader

Hey there! Can you believe that I went almost a whole week without blurfin'? Good Grief....funny thing, my Google Reader caps out at 1,000+ posts....I must have been well above the 1,000 mark because I went through TONS before it has finally settled onto 866. I have jet lag? I went to bed at 2:30 a.m. this morning and woke up at 5:00 a.m. this morning, oy vey.

I realized that I didn't manage to take a whole lot of good photography....I'll have to have "d" pass along more of the touristy ones. For now, I'll share this picture of Cozumel from the deck of the cruise boat after we docked {landed, anchored?}. The water is bluer than you can begin to imagine...simply lovely. A girl could get easily use to vacationing when she doesn't have to cook or clean...just lay in the sun and people watch {love doing that} was an incredibly relaxing that I really needed and enjoyed. Prior to arriving in Cozumel, we also visited Key West...Wow! What a FABulous place!!!

Yesterday I spent the entire day in a movie theater {with various breaks} to watch these Academy Award Nomimees:

My favorite?
Slumdog Millionaire

Can you believe it? Milk started at 10:30 a.m. and Frost/Nixon ended around midnight. is fun to go with a bunch of friends..we packed a bunch of food but then bought something for dinner. I'm trying to break myself of my "Cruise Diet", or lack of diet...yipes...oh well, I was on vaca...

refreshing 5th avenue

This is the Valentines Day sfytt over on Jen's blog. I just love to bring out the blue in the Making Memories 5th Avenue line of papers. I bought what I thought were rub-ons but found they are actually stickers {the palm tree} via Mrs. Grossman. I have a ton of one point I had the kids sort through them all and color code them within a floss box...the other night that floss box was on my work surface and I was moving things around and fell to the ground...oy vey. Those buttons are now in a very large glass cannister that "d" gave me...althought they look pretty in there, it is a pain'ola to fish through all the different styles and colors to find thee perfect buttons....not to mention 3 of them. BTW, the blue is Stampin' Up Baja Breeze, such a gorgeous color.

my friend and my friend v 2.0

I'm absolutely smitten by those fabulous wooden hearts that I picked up on Etsy's Lemon Tree Studio...I wanted a clean and crisp Valentines Day design to send to some friends...The rub-ons are from Stampin' Up along with the ribbon...Here I am posting Valentines Day cards {which is long gone} when peeps have been posting Easter cards before Valentines does a girl keep up?!

**just a reminder that I'm on a back next week**

love birds

Here is a cute little Studio G image that I paper pieced with Basic Grey Phoebe. The heart is colored in with Copic Strong Red. Super clean and simple all nestled on a 5x5 Fabriano card...gotta love those! The ribbon is ala a ribbon buy (thanks Elaine!!). I've been doing a ton of multi-layer cards and decided that I've been neglecting my poor Fabrianos! I'll share some different ones tomorrow....

coffee anyone?

Look at these ultra CUTE coffee cups! It is the Let's Get Together set from There She Goes. Jessica Knutsen is fabulous...and she is a Washington girl! The polka dot base is A Muse, the kraft is Speckletone, the pattern on the coffee cup is A Muse Madeira and the ribbon is Stampin' Up. A girl can never have too many coffee sets!!!

Sassy Fairy

I'm taking a blog-vacation this week and have set up posts to run during the time that I'm out of my "blogging office". I look forward to catching up on all of your wonderful creations!!!

Okay, onto my first Design Team card for Two Scoops Rice Designs! This is a digi image, couldn't resist the mushroom :) All the designer paper is ala Sassafras Lass {big surprise}....I used my copics to color the fairy. I decided to glitter up the wings with Stampin' Up Dazzling Diamonds and popped a sweet little butterfly on her.
I used the Splitcoaststampers SC215 design. Renae of Two Scoops Rice Designs has some SWEET images and I can't wait to share more projects with you!
copics: strong red r46, shock pink rv04, mint green bg13, grass green yg17, light camel e55 and skin white e00

Happy Valentines Day!

Surprise, linkies today and gasp, no Sassafras! I was totally smitten by this sweet card. I decided to take advantage of the free pdf download and use this black hair cutie pie. I mentioned this before but I'm always drawn to glitter-licious things but this image called for just a sweet amount of glitz so I glittered her little white slip, her belt and her buttons. Then I decided to "go for it" and glitzed up the scallops....The card base is Stampin' Up Baja Breeze and yes, I'm still using the Riding Hood Red striped that stuff! BTW, the heart is on dimensionals...Just a little Valentines Day Card
I've been feelin' the blog candy love these days....this "tweet" card and hero arts stamp set is ala Teri over at Big Ideas from a Little Girl.

This stash'ola is from Tracy over at Who is Tracy?

Thanks Ladies...I will definitely enjoy my new goodies!!!

Just an FYI that I will be on a blog-vacation next week. I have posts scheduled so it'll be as if I'm here blurfing and blogging as usual...just wanted to let you know in the event you send me an email...I'll respond as soon as possible.

Merci Woodland

This is for CPS 102. Surprise, surprise....Sassafras Lass...this is the first time I cut into my Life is Beautiful-Woodland Whimsy. Unfortunately, I don't have very many sheets :( I wish I could find a local retail spot that carries the stuff... but for now, I tap into 2peas and ScrapGal. The first 2 layers of my scallop flower uses the Starbucks newspaper. I love the look of newsprint... You can't really tell in the photo, but I did fold up the scallop circles a bit to shabby'ize the layers. The Merci is a Making Memories rub-on, the button is from my vintage stash. I broke down and bought a couple different yards of crocheted trim at my local Ben Franklin gives cards such fabulous texture. This card has gone postal to one of "d's" work friends that treated us to a great lunch at this very sweet place called Endolyn Joe's.

cupcake kind of day

I've been on a challenge kick the last couple of weeks and one that I have never tapped into is the SCS Inspiration Challenge...shame on me...I've been a loyal follower of Stef's blog and decided to give it a try. I couldn't resist joining in on the fun this week with the name 'hunkdoryhome'. Oh boy, I would soooo blow my weekly allowance in that shop...yup, did you catch that....weekly allowance...trying to do the cash only on my "mad money" purchases. I almost strayed last week if it wasn't for my friend "k" that set me back on track...I couldn't resist some boiled wool slippers that were 40% off, 40% off my friends...and they were PINK. Oy vey...she talked some sense into me {at least that's what I'm telling myself, that she talked sense into me and that I wasn't a fool to pass up that deal...}. Anywho's sorry for getting off track here...I picked the cute cupcake pillow as my inspiration piece. This card is my very loose interpretation of that...I actually used my A Muse cupcake set! I decided to fall back on my clean & simple design sense...the butterfly is awfully bright but I like it...breaks up all the luscious Amy Butler pink. The ribbon is ala a ribbon share that I tapped into awhile back via see that? I'm using my ribbon and not hoarding.....

One World ~ One Heart Giveaway!!

Drumroll Please...........

Hoggie Hi

I decided to try out Jen's SFYTT....I really hope you guys aren't getting sick of my Sassafras stash....because I'm certainly not sick of it! This uses their Hog Heaven line...the kit even comes with fabulous cardstock is just a shame you can't see the SWEET pattern on the 1st panel...check it out here. Isn't that just fantabulous??!!! The "hi" is American Crafts felt thickers...just love those!! I don't know if you can tell by the photo but I did sew the left panel with my 'ole Janome...

Need some last minute Valentines Day Goodies? Check out this SWEET **free** download by Inside a Black Apple. I actually have them on my google reader but found the freebie from "A bit of this. A bit of that." . While I'm at it, scrapNfonts also has some **free** Valentines Day cuteness HERE.

Heart & Home their challenges....this is for their current one...hearts. I've been seeing paper pieced homes and wanted to give it a try. I just love that "look" is soo sweet and actually reminds me of Claudine Hellmuth. I have been having sooo much fun with the wooden hearts that I picked up from the Lemon Tree Studio etsy shop {I went back for more and picked up another pkg of them!} that I knew that was going to be my highlighted heart for the challenge. Sometimes it pays to not clean up after yourself because I caught sight of the heart shaped bling from A Muse that I used on an earlier project and decided to pop one on the heart to top off the "i" in the word "is" {a muse sentiment}. I janome'd the house but didn't dare try to accomplish the tree...although that would have been spectacular...I can only stitch straight..kwim? What better paper to use than Amy Butler? The tree is from Kim Hughes' new Spring Trees set. Gotta love the Kim Hughes/Cornish Heritage Farms stamps...they are magnificent and stamp beautifully!! I've sooo been on a butterfly kick and had to pop one onto my card....

Monday, February 9, 2009

Cupcake-licious! big sweet cupcake on this card {although I'm going to get the Sizzlit Cupcake dies...}, it is a SCS SC214 card using 4 different patterns from Basic Grey's Cupcake line. I love their 6x6 paper pads... The striped ribbon is ala Stampin' up and the buttons are from the Making Memories {note}worthy embellishment jar. I toyed with the idea of stamping a sentiment but decided against it...this truly is an all-occasion card. I really do dig the red/blue color bright, fun & happy. The card base is Stampin' up Riding Hood the stuff...such a gorgeous color.

Pretty Big Owl...

I don't think I'll ever tire of my Hero Arts Big Owl...She is so versatile and well, stinkin' cute. I'm a huge fan of kraft it...can't live without it. I teamed the owl up with Stampin' Up Pretty in Pink...she's stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copic Shock Pink. I'm still having fun with the fabulous wooden hearts {it is on dimensionals} that I picked up from the sweet Etsy shop, Lemon Tree Studio. I stamped it with my Stampin' Up Eat Cake sentiment and popped on a little prima flower and bling. Dontcha just love that Making Memories pink lace??? I want it...I need every color!

Happy Friday!!

Clearly Moxie

This is a double dog dare....Kazan's sketch 19 @ 2 Sketches 4 You and Cath Edvalson's color challenge on her Moxie Fab World blog. The color challenge is yellow and gray....see that polka dot paper? It is actually from American Crafts Christmas line called Sleigh Bells Ring...the other side is a beautiful bright green...the yellow is Stampin' Up So Saffron along with their Basic Gray. It all sits on a transparency from Flourishes. The color combo really does remind me of Amy Butler...
paper: american crafts, stampin' up so saffron & basic gray accessories: misc flower & button, alpha from t $ spot, transparency from flourishes, stampin' up scallop punch

Happy Birthday Robotics

Does this look familiar? I used the same paper and sketch,Rae's Bonus sketch, as Friday's "xo" worked out perfectly because I'm making a birthday card for my co-worker's son. This is the same gal that I made this What's Cookin'? card for...this time the son is a video game player. It was my perfect opportunity to use my There She Goes "Crafty Taglines" clear set that I recently won. Jessica is a fellow Washingtonian so I received my 3, yes you read it right, 3 FREE sets speedy quick! I'm crossing my fingers that when my co-worker says video game player that she means computer gamer...not a wii player but it's all good, right? The super tiny "birthday wish" on the computer monitor is a Basic Grey rub-on. All that Sassafras'alicious Robotics paper is nestled on Stampin' Up Basic Grey...the dots on the scallop circle are ala my Twinklette pen, just a sweet amount of glitter {don't want to glitterized the poor boy's birthday card}. I counter balanced the glitter with the Thickers felt circles...felt rocks.
I've been meaning to share my new personalized stamp that I bought in December. I hit a FABulous sale on It was funny, my boy said: "Where's the crown?". I told him that I was thinking of moving away from that and he said: "But it is sooo you Mom!". Isn't that funny?

5th Avenue Thank You....

This card design is compliments of CPS 101. What I hope is a masculine'ish thank you card...those are tough ones for me. This is almost an entire Making Memories card...I bought the 5th Avenue kit on sale at Target...odd that some of the papers seemed to be chowdered that how it is suppose to be? The pale blue button is from my {note} worthy embellishment jar...The circle diecut is from the 5th Avenue kit and the "thank you" is from a Making Memories rub-on sheet. I finally did some sewing...haven't done that in awhile and want to keep the 'ole Janome

Over the weekend, "d" recruited a co-worker of his to help him move my fridge into my garage and then retrieve my mom's old fridge and pop it into my kitchen. I was pleased that it went fairly mom's fridge {I guess it is mine now...not my mom's! BTW, the fridge I adopted is waayyyy nicer than the one that came with my home} barely fit through my front doorway and around my kitchen island...karma peeps...karma...I don't know if "d's" friend is a coffee drinker but I popped a Starbucks card in there as a thank you...if not coffee...there is always their yummish treats :)

Sugared Happiness

Sugar goodness....check out the Basic Grey that name, Sugared. This card is based on the SCS Sketch 213. I offered to make a birthday card for d's sister's upcoming birthday. He gave me some hints for the smeasy for I bought a smidge of that wonderful pink Making Memories lace at Impress. I thought it gave the card a nice texture to team up with the felt Jenni Bowlin butterfly...I let him pick between this "Sugared Happiness" and the "and many more..." cards. Both are chock full of pink goodness but are so different in their feel..."d" ended up picking this one, Sugared Happiness.

Thought I'd pass along this movie extravaganza...AMC Best Picture Showcase. I found out about it last year {from my dentist} and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I've already bought my ticket for this year....12 hours of that is good stuff!

...sigh....I did it again...I'm having a heck of a time with the delayed posting...this was suppose to go on Monday...
