Happy | Woodblock Wednesday

I'm back with a new edition of Woodblock Wednesday!  I can't believe that it's been since November?!  Let's jump right in!  I'm featuring:

Savvy Stamps - Do More of What Make you Happy
Impress - Monstera [5638D]

You may have seen this sneak peek on my Instagram:

My inspiration all l started when I was shopping at Kate Spade.  That coat!  So fun, right?  I did a colorful take on that:

Pink + Green = Yes, Thank You!

I made this especially for my baby girl that turned 25 yesterday!  How can that be?!  Time has been flying by and I can't believe I have a 25 year old.  We look forward when things 'go back to normal' so that we can properly celebrate.

Hope you are doing well during these crazy times.

hello | Woodblock Wednesday | Guest Designer

Hello and welcome to Woodblock Wednesday.  I'm featuring:

Poppystamps - Poppy Polka Dot [218C] retired
Impress - Hello Flower [retired]
Savvy Stamps - Small Packages [1315C]

Here's how I was inspired:

So I channeled my inner Alice in my coloring.  That little Poppystamps girl is adorable isn't she?  I know I have a boy version too...somewhere.  These are no longer available in their shop.

The Impress Hello! stamp has been discontinued also but they do have the thank you version still available.

The interior has the sentiment stamped inside by Savvy Stamps.  Love that one!

Although maybe not readily noticeable, the theme this week is Fall!  I tried to capture that with my color palette.  I've noticed that I need to do some shopping for woodblock fall images!

I'm super excited to introduce my guest for this week, Debra Davison.  You can find her on blog HERE + her IG HERE.  She is a coffee lover too!

Isn't her card adorable?!

So Many Candles | Woodblock Wednesday | Guest Designer

Hello and welcome to another edition of Woodblock Wednesday.  I'm featuring:

Savvy Stamps  - Large Whimsical Outline Cake - Retired [9241]
Impress - So Many Candles [5654C]

Here's how I was inspired:

Keeping things real, this was card #3 [whew!].  Originally I stamped the cake in versafine onyx.  My first card I smeared the candles with my hand while coloring [grrrrr].  Card #2 I didn't like the Distress Oxide on top of the candles and I knew better [I really did!] and I tried to 'fix' things with a black sharpie = ugh.

So in an effort to step away from Versafine, I heat embossed the image with Hero Arts Copper on Bristol.

My Distress Oxide color combo is compliments of Kristina Werner.

The cake has been colored with Zig Clean Color Markers.  Have you used the blending brush?! Ooohhh...it's amazing.

To keep my card in a festive mode my card base is a very glittery panel.

I'm super excited to introduce my guest for this week, Meghan Kennihan!  She's a wonderful cardmaker, loves making coffee cards and is super sweet!  She's sharing two cards over on her blog AND doing a giveaway too!

A big thank you to Meghan for joining me this week!!!

oh hello friend | Woodblock Wednesday | Guest Designer

Hello and welcome to the 9th edition of Woodblock Wednesday.  I'm featuring:

Impress - Squirrel w/acorn on side [1547e]
Impress - Coffee Cup Stamp with words on side [5375]
Savvy Stamps - Leaf Pattern [1428k]
Impress - Pumpkin Spice [5721D]
Savvy Stamps - Oh Hello Friend [1481e]

Here's how I was inspired:

Let's chat about my Pumpkin Spice card first:

It's actually National Coffee Week over on the Coffee Loving Cardmaker's blog.  Sunday was officially National Coffee Day Hop and the design team is sharing some fun cards all week long.  I wanted to somehow incorporate caffeine with my FALL THEME.  The Impress Coffee Cup is perfect.  I love to be able to customize the sleeve.  Today it has been paper pieced with packaging paper.

To add to the fall theme, I used the beautiful Savvy Stamps Leaf Pattern in Catherine Pooler's Mandarin Spice.  The sentiment, by Impress has been stamped on the same packing paper that I used for the Coffee Cup sleeves.

Next  up is my original design for this week:

The Savvy Stamps squirrel is so cute!  Love him in the acrylic frame that I've been hoarding.  I used the same Leaf Pattern in the same Mandarin Spice [love that color!].  The sentiment is also by Savvy Stamps.

I'm super excited to introduce my guest for this week, Michele Ferguson!  You know her, she's the one with the beautiful work and the wonderful sense of humor.    Here's how she was inspired:

A big thank you to Michele for joining me this week!!!

Merci | Woodblock Wednesday + Guest Designer

Hello and welcome to the sixth edition of Woodblock Wednesday.  I'm featuring:

Savvy Stamps - Floral Jar [1404h]
A Muse Stamps - Merci [retired]

Here's how I was inspired:

I ended up doing a bit of mass production.  Honestly I consider more than 1 card of a design mass production.

Let's talk about this design first.  It features the Basic Grey - Adrift collection.  Oh how I miss Basic Grey.  I used a very simple design, easy to produce quickly.

The poppy looking blooms were colored with

Sugared Almond Pink
Pink Flamingo
Zig Blender

The petal filled blooms were colored with

Pale Pink
Pink Flamingo

This next duo features panels from the Basic Grey Persimmon collection, one of my favorites.

The image has been stamped on Bristol with Versafine Onyx Black.  The 'water' is:

Pale Blue

Each of the bouquets have one enamel dot.  The overall design is pretty clean + crisp so that bit of texture gives it a touch of interest.

I'm so thrilled to have Tonya Jastad playing along with me.  She's sharing two different designs, here's a peek at one of them:

She used the same main image.  For all the details on her project, please visit her BLOG IG.

Thank you so much Tonya for joining me today!  Her coloring and the addition of the sweet plaid panel is perfect!

Long Live Snail Mail | Woodblock Wednesday

Welcome to the Fifth Edition of Woodblock Wednesday!  Today I'm featuring:

Impress Cherry Blossom Branch [5632F]
Savvy Stamps Long Live Snail Mail [1549C]

My overall design was inspired by THIS card by Julie Ebersole.  I mixed up the design a bit so it isn't the same but that you can see where I was inspired.

My card is a hefty 7 layers:

Cardbase
Neenah Solar White
Glitter Cardstock
Studio Calico layer
Studio Calico layer
Neenah Solar White frame
Main Image/Sentiment

Why do I cover my cardbase?  I bought a bunch of 'cheap' folded cards.  Unfortunately they aren't even white but kind of a blue grey that I find very distracting [lesson learned], but I still want to use them up.

I've been enjoying designing with a ton of white space lately but love a pop of color, this time I'm using glittery cardstock.

My copic colors:

YR000 | YR00 | YR01
G00 | G12
E40

The sentiment has a coordinating Cute Snail [yes, I own it] but this time I went for a different look.

Have you noticed that I've been creating more floral designs?  I've never really thought of myself as a floral girl but I've been warming up to them lately.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy National Espresso Day!

Happy National Espresso Day!!!!!  I couldn't let this day go by without posting a coffee card, could I?

Look at this sweet Savvy Floral Cup:

I wanted the cup to look like one from Anthropologie....chunky and freestyle painted.  It's been colored with various Zig Clean Color Markers.  The sentiment is from a (now retired) My Favorite Things sentiment set.

I was inspired by Fusion Card Challenge:

I'm hoping some of my other coffee-a-holic friends might be posting Espresso cards today too!

Here's some other news:

Essentials by Ellen - Mix it Up Challenge: oh hello friend.

Grateful for the longer days...I took this  photo at 7:30 pm last night.  There is still plenty of natural sunlight.

I didn't originally have a post scheduled today but since I finished up my homework early, I decided to whip up a card!

I'm playing along with the Essentials by Ellen - Mix It Up Challenge:

We're mixin' it up with Savvy Stamps!  I'm a HUGE fan of Cindi and her work!

So on my card I used:

In case you're wondering, the green drink on the left is a green tea frap!
