Saturday Finds!

I was on surfing around on Laura O'Donnell's most fabulous blog, itsallrosie, when I found this adorable Etsy shop, nikoart.

On 2Peas I stumbled across Mom2Christopher and her blog,
Card-Blanc. Check out her fabulous Etsy shop named Card-Blanc.

Here's another sweet Etsy shop chock full of cuteness via Super Cute Kawaii!

Oh my Goodness...check out this Colored Masking Tape....I found it via Simple Song.

Do you remember that I took a crochet class? I'll strive to make this card dress which I found via this fabulous site.

I recently started joining in on the fun over at 2 Sketches 4 You. For those of you that haven't checked Kazan and Laura's blog, you really should. It is soooo full of fabulous inspiration. I'm spending the morning going through all the links for the sketches this week. Oh my poor Google Reader is getting so full....I keep adding more and more blogs to it....hence why I wake up at the crack of dawn to do my blurfing...this morning was 4 a.m....but, I'm a total morning person...already on my 3rd cup of joe.

xo & my boy....

This card is based on Rae's bonus sketch over at 2 sketches 4 you! The little card is 4.25 x 4.25. All that Sassafras'alicious Robotics paper is nestled on Stampin' Up Basic Grey. The "xo" is Making Memories and the heart shaped bling is A Muse. I'm all for non-traditional cards...this certainly would fall into the non-traditional Valentines Day greetings.
Yesterday was a great day. Just a little "Woot Woot" for my sweet boy! He was recognized at his middle school with a "Striving for Accuracy" award. Isn't he just a-dorable {okay I'm being a little biased...}. It was a surprise to him and the other award recipiants, it was fun to see his confused look on his face when he saw me sitting in the gymnasium in his school.

Happy Friday!!!!

Okay, I've been hoarding this very fun paper by Cosmo Cricket called Hello Sunshine. Isn't it just toooo fun and happy? I won it from Jennifer McGuire...yup, THEE Jennifer McGuire. This card is based on Laura's Sketch 18 on 2 Sketches 4 You. That butterfly is from Stampin' Up...I love it. I picked it up from the b/s/t board on Splitcoaststampers. It is circa 2000...9 years old. It is probably one of my oldest... I typically don't use yellow but love it when it is teamed up with black and pops of green...

Some sad news for you peeps that like
Domino Magazine....that would be me...I heart Domino Magazine...I subscribe to Domino...I also subscribe to Mary Engelbreit Home Companion which has also folded. Hmm....2 of my subscriptions...gone.

Hang 10 Birthday

This card uses the CPS sketch #100! I used the now retired Basic Grey Hang 10. It's great for masculine cards for both young and old. This is for one of my bosses at work, he celebrates his birthday today. I'm going to pop a 7-Eleven gift card there such a thing, a 7-Eleven gift card? I have to admit that it has probably been since the late 1980's that I've been in a 7-Eleven in the states. My brother and I did go into a couple when we were in Japan:) Anywho's my boss digs slurpees. That's when the gift card will come in handy for That FABulous cork star on the card is from a pack that I picked up from J's for $1...they actually have a strip of magnet on the back that I just peel off.

Happy Wednesday!!!

...and many more

I'm still having fun with my SEI papers...I've always loved their Hippie Chick fun & funky! This is for the SCS Sketch Challenge 212. It's a great design to highlight different designer papers...this card actually has 2 different pattern is with circles and the other has flowers, paisleys and other fun shapes. The felt flower and buttons are from Making Memories embellies that I bought over on Peachy Cheap in December...oy vey, that place is dangerous! I have to say that I really love my Stampin' Up Cute Converse set...the sentiments always seem to come in handy.

Check this out..."Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!" lol

u and me

While surfing around the Scrapgal Gallery, I came across this sweet card by MandyKay, part of the Design team over there. I purchased a LOAD of goodies at Scrapgal during December. I was able to stock up on some Sassafras'licious goodness then...Anywho's, MandyKay's card truly inspired me to use my fabulous Hambly rub-ons...I've said it before and I'll say it again...they rock. The wooden heart {which btw is on dimensionals} is ala Etsy's Lemon Tree Studios...The ribbon is from my old Making Memories stash...dehoarding, that's a good feeling. The fabriano seemed to be calling my name when I was thinking of what cardstock to use. *Gasp* this has no stamping on it...

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend...I sure did. My crocheting class on Friday night was an absolute Hoot! I have such a great group of friends...we're always poking fun at each other. The instructor probably thought we were awful {lol}. What did I buy over the weekend...gorgeous wool yarn...aha...another hobby for me {good grief!}. Oh yeah, I stopped by the A Muse stop prior to my class...sigh...who was I kidding when I said to myself "I'm just going to look!" Oy vey. I finally got around to binding my 2008 Autumn Leaves page-a-day calendar. I was sooo totally bummed that they didn't do another one for 2009....

**good grief...technical difficulties...this was suppose to post on Monday..why did it post now, Saturday night?! Oh well...**

Saturday Finds!

Here is my photo for Project 365 (Project 52 for me). This is what started this crazy journey of mine...Stampin' Up. I assure you that my SU Demo {Hi J!} probably had no idea that my first party with her would take me down this insane ultra-fulfilling journey {thanks J!}. I definitely have more Stampin' Up sets than anything else in my collection but I've also noticed that I've started to collect other companies too....A Muse {that's my 2nd largest collection}...CHF....Hero Arts...Odd Bird Planet {OBP? No you really haven't seen anything from me yet BUT I scored on a sweet set over on SCS b/s/t and hit OBP's Chinese New Year Sale...gnomes and owls my friends...gnomes and owls}.

Okay, on to my links:

I {heart} this Food for Thought on Maria Grace's blog Momentary Bliss.

I don't know what it is but my fingers are ALWAYS cold...especially at work. My office is at a balmy 78 degrees {or at least that is what the thermostat says} and I'm still layering on the's an attempt to get my fingers warm. Okay so SWEET things won't necessarily help in that department but aren't they FABulous? I spotted them on the Design Mom blog...

I recently stumbled onto Chez Larsson's is chock full of goodness. The gal that writes the blog is named Benita...she is a visual merchandiser in Sweden...whatta job...sounds FUN! Good Grief! Check out her Flickr!

Check out Frugalities...they are having 40% off...Sadly I must pass up the sale as I tapped into their December sale. I'm here to enable you all :)

I'll be back tomorrow with a tag'ola!

discover u

This is multi-tasking at my best...this combines two challenges:

Seeing Spots

Kazan's Sketch 18
@ 2 Sketches 4 You

The red panel is Stampin' Up Ginger Blossom and the rest of the "Spotty" papers are from Making Memories Hul-la-ba-loo line. The ribbon is Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red, the glittery "u" is T $ spot and the pearls are k&co. I'm a huge fan of red and robin's egg blue...such a fun combo!

Well, I hope everyone has a magnificent weekend! I have a crocheting class tonight that I'm really looking forward to...

Who doesn't love a free lunch?!

I've been on a roll with paper piecing and fun papers that I thought it was time to get back to one of my first loves.....fabriano's. Here is a clean and simple card. We're celebrating a co-worker's birthday today...sushi! Not just sushi but the conveyor belt kind...something for everyone and it is fairly least for me, I can get out of there for less than $5. I ran the 5x5 Fabriano through my printer...I'm buying the birthday boy his lunch but asked him to make sure that he had dinner the night before and big breakfast ribbon is ala Martha online. I glittered the "rice" part of the sushi roll.
stamps: a muse paper: fabriano ink: memento tuxedo black, various copics accessories: quickie glue pen, dazzling diamonds, martha ribbon

Do you remember when I mentioned the fabulous SEI sale? I finally have started to play with my goodies! My girl is going to a birthday party this weekend so I put together this fun card. The SEI paper is reversible and the stamp is ala Pink Paislee. The "14" is good old fashioned stickers :)

I was VERY inspired by Shari Carroll's pocket cards on the Hero Arts Blog. I purchased a bunch of transparencies from Flourishes awhile back. With the scoring, I was able to use one full sheet for this card. Guess who the "Happy Place" rainbow dp is from....hmmm...maybe my current fav.....Sassafras Lass! The a-dorable Mushroom House is ala Hero's huge! I paper pieced it on Stampin' Up Real Red and Speckletone Kraft. This card just makes me smile!

Happy Monday!!

One World~One Heart and a trio of blog awards!

Thanks to Ann over at Creative Antics, I found out about this wonderful event that will start tomorrow! Check out this blog post on Lisa's site, hostess of the event. The Reader's Digest version? It's a wonderful way to make connections with people all around the world...the blogging community is filled with fabulous people...I can say that I've truly experienced that in my personal blogging journey. I would have never met the people that I have so far if it wasn't for this incredible concept of blogging. Just recently a couple of my blogging friends offered to step up and help me find a chandelier stamp for me...isn't that fabulous {these gals know ME}! We have never met in person but you know what? That's just how it is...

I hope that YOU will join me in this
One World~One Heart event!

Quite frankly, this couldn't have come at a better time...I actually have some blog candy put together....One prize is true blog candy...meaning I actually bought the goods specifically for blog candy and then I'll have a couple other treasure chests of lovelies...okay, I'm going through a massive design studio purge {design studio...makes it all sound so fancy smancy}. One girl's impulse purchases is another gal's loot'ola!

I was sooo lucky to be gifted with 3 blog awards last week!!!

The Encouraged award is from the most fabulous Lisa Brown over at Ink and Inspirations. I love her sense of style and she has a beautiful family. Please hop on over to Lisa's blog!!

The Honest Scrap award is from JackieLou over at Bloggin' my Pink Artsie World....okay, who wouldn't like THAT world?? I met her through the Two Scoops Rice Design Team...btw, stay tuned on that...there will be some reveals on that! Check out JackieLou's blog...she is always crackin' me are the deets for the Honest Scrap award:

A) first list 10 honest things about yourself - and make it interesting, even if you have to dig deep!

B) Pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you feel embody the spirit of the Honest Scrap.

oops! I almost forgot to post my 10 things...I seem to have an addictive personality so I thought I'd focus on that and then add some random things {not in any specific order}:

1. blogging...I'm obessive about my blog...posting...reviewing....the photography...I try to make it make it the best that I can...

2. blurfing...oh my blurfing is slightly out of control...I'll admit to that...I cringe to think how many blog posts will be waiting for me when I go on vaca and not have internet access for several I'm constantly adding to my google reader...why? Hmm...someone leaves me a comment that I haven't "met" yet...I check out their blog and pretty soon I'm surfing their blog on a regular basis...this one world thing is going to put my google reader into subscription There are all those blogs that I read about on other truly is a vicious...fabulous circle...I love it.

3. My Design Studio...obessive...only in some Stampin' Up paper, Stamps & Markers are really organized {alphabetically}. My A Muse collection is all displayed in front of my work surface...all my um's are together {not in any organized manner but at least together}...everything else? Absolutely Chaos! 2009 is my year to do some serious will undoubtedly be a year long process...not only because I have so many "treasures" but the financial aspect of the organization...little by little.

yipes...sorry this is a mondo long post....

4. I LOVE my kids...I wouldn't know what I would do without them...there was a time when they were what got me out of bed...put on a happy face...

5. My life, how it is now is not what I ever would have thought it would's funny how life changes when you least expect it..but I love my life and I feel that things happen for a reason...

6. I love my coffee...

7. I love anything citrus...lemon fav

8. I'm addicted to gum..

9. I use to chew my finger nails when I was younger...

10. I have to make time to be creative or I get grumpy :)

This Fabulous award is from one of my oldest blogging friend's.....Carla over at Paper Pastorale! I will insert here that I don't mean old as in age but she tapped into my blog earlier on in my blogging adventures...Carla is fabulous...she loves glitter and she gives me so much inspiration...both with her blog and her emails to me...I do appreciate you Carla!!!!

I hope that if you didn't know these wonderful ladies prior to reading my blog post that you will tap into their blogs and make a new friend...

Have a super week ladies!!!!

Saturday Finds!

Here is my photo for the Project 365 {my version is Project 52}. I had taken a picture of my beloved {scratched up} Starbucks mug on my kitchen counter but quite frankly, I hate my tile counter tops so I brought it over to my fancy smancy photo studio and did the photo shoot there {you would LOL if you saw this "fancy smancy photo studio"}. Bona shares my love of coffee and Starbucks mugs so I know that she'll appreciate this photo...

Okay, on to some goodies:
Check out the PERFECT-o blog candy that I won over at Stampin' Treats!!! I won it when Laura's daughter Alison was the guest hostess of her blog! See that super sweet cupcake card??!!! That is one of the cutie Moo Cards....I'm going to order some...check out Laura's stash of Moo my do them with my blog header graphic or do the fun assortment like Alison did for Laura....I'm thinking fun...whaddya think?

Now for some linky goodness:

I apologize, next week I'll note who I found the original links from {shame on me}...I surf soooo many blogs that if I don't write it down, I won't remember...

Check out this etsy shop, isPhotography, she summarizes it:

purveyor of little poems for the eyes

It was Ali Edwards' blog that I originally found her etsy shop...

Have you all heard about the Super Hero, Wonder Toast? You just gotta go check out that site....a-stinkin-a-dorable.

Okay, I realize that not everyone has a fascination with chandeliers and furniture images {gasp! say it isn't so....} but I always have to share all that stuff so bear with me:

Chocolate Creative

Lemon Tree Studio...oh my goodness...chock full of fun...but check this little beauty out....what's that? It's sold? What a lucky duck that snagged that sweet

Hmmm....I hate to end on a sad note but thought I'd pass this along in the event you hadn't heard. I started my creative journey with scrapbooking {I've obviously made the jump to the instant gratification}. Well, actually I had always dabbled in card making etc but really started this addiction, for a lack of a better word, when my son was in preschool. I volunteered to be the scrapbook had never scrapbooked. Anyways, I always loved the magazine Simple Scrapbooks and was truly sad when I read this on Wendy Smedley's blog. Let's face it, we all receive tons of inspiration from various blogs and other Internet sources. I don't know about you but I'm hoping that the Internet won't replace my subscriptions. Those of you that have been following my blogging journey know how much I love to blurf {too much...that's how much I} but I haven't given up on my subs..

Yes, another Sassafras'alicious card...this is ginormous one...5.5 x 8.5...they are a challenge to photog! Whatta card...Sassafras AND Stampin' Up Retired Cool Carribbean, something I took out of the vault...I just adore Cool Caribbean and thought what better paper to team it up with but Sassafras! The We R Memory Keepers Chipboard letters are from their Christmas line and have glitter on them! The "truly * madly * deeply" is ala A Muse and the chipboard button is from Making Memories. I'm definitely on a roll for the card sketches! This is for the caardvarks challenge with the sketch by Becky Fleck. Good should check out the Studio Calico prize package...a girl can dream! I always enjoy Stef and Lauren's Caardvarks creations so I decided to join in on the fun!

Have a super weekend!!!

Memory Box Thank You

I fell in love with this Memory Box Cozy Chair image that I recently picked up at Impress. I knew that it would be perfect for piecing or Copics. This time I decided to paper piece it with fabulous paper by Melissa Frances called Breigh. I went ahead and pieced the coffee cup with Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red...reminds me of fiesta ware :) Can you see the handle of the coffee mug? It is a heart...isn't that sweet?!! This is for the 2 Sketches 4 You Laura's sketch 17. Can you believe that this is my first time with a 2s4y?!
stamps: memory box ink: versafine vintage sepia, signo white gel pen paper: melissa frances, stampin' up chocolate chip & riding hood red, speckletone kraft accessories: stampin' up scallop punch, round scallop punch, quickie glue pen, basic grey rub-on

hog heaven

Have you checked out the Card Positioning Systems sketch 99? This is my take on it and yes, I'm using Sassafras again, this one is called Hog Heaven.I could seriously wall paper my place in the stuff!

This card wouldn't probably make it through the USPS. Those embellies are glass Gothic Rosettes by EK Success..from my old stash. I'm trying to use the old to make room for the new. I thought that the card looked plain jane {yes, I know that the sassafras is pretty busy but there is no ribbon or bling...} so I glitterized the edges of the sassafras panel. The pink is Stampin' Up Pixie of my favs. This will make a perfect valentine's day greeting.

I'm typing this up on Tuesday evening...right before American Idol...One show that I make an effort to watch....this week it will be on 2 nights/2 hours each night...sheesh...cutting into my creative time :)

This quote popped up on my google home page and it made me chuckle:

You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.
~Jack London~

Have a great Wednesday!!

Hoo Loves You

This card cracks me up...

1. I just left lauren a comment on her fabulous blog
...all the GOOD blog names were taken that I don't do freeform card design

2. Guess what this card ended up being....yuppers...freeform

I had my Basic Grey Cupcake 6x6 pad out and started stamping, cutting, scoring, was absolute chaos. I'd like to think that she is sporting her blue cape and red "hoo loves you" sash...and not necessarily "flashing"
stamps: hero arts, a muse ink: versafine vintage sepia, signo white gel pen paper: basic grey cupcake, misc white accessories: stampin' up scallop punch

what's cookin'?

I was asked by my co-worker to make a couple cards for her kids' upcoming birthday's. She gave me a snippet of something to work with...this is for her son, the chef. I have cupcakes and chocolates but no chef hat {bummer...wouldn't that be perfect?}. So I played with my A Muse Party Time set. I stamped the apron onto Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red and pieced it onto the Fabriano. I topped it off with some Martha Baker's Twine {thanks for enabling Ivy!}. Martha's packaging is most fabulous, isn't it?

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. My friends and I spent the day shopping on Saturday...approximately 7 hours of It was GREAT. We always get together early in January in hopes of hitting good sales {we did}. I was the only one to pop into Impress....I bought a couple things and hope to play with them this week. "d" met me and we went to see Gran Torino...the theater {a large one too} was absolutely packed...sold out. I laughed and cried...{anyone that really knows me shouldn't be surprised that I cried...I cry at all movies...sheesh, even Cheaper by the Dozen II...rollin' my eyes..}.

Have a super week!

saturday finds!

I've been reading a lot about the Project 365 and see that a ton of my favorite blogs are participating...I know that I wouldn't be able to commit to taking part on a daily basis but thought that I'd try to do it once a week. I have 2 really fabulous friends {hi j & p!} that started their massive Fiesta ware collection way before me....I've always loved the bright fun colors so I eventually made the jump. A couple weeks ago my fabulous cousin Satomi of Japanese Handmade Etc, opened up my cupboard and called it eye candy :)

I was sooo pleased to see the FS100 over at is the fabulous JulieHRR, Julie Ebersole! Sheesh, which fabulous card to pick from her chock full of goodness gallery??!! I decided on her "For a Special Teacher". I actually started off with a kitchen blue 4 bar note card which she used as her base but fussed with it and just couldn't get it to work for me, I needed a bit more room...I pulled out one of my favorite Stampin' Up Color combo's...Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze. All the images are ala A you notice that I colored in a smidge of water in the bird bath and then glitterized it?

Have a super Friday and FABulous weekend!

Sassy Hambly

Check out this Sassafras-alicious card...I decided to play along with the CPS Sketch #98. I missed out on sketch #97 so wanted to make sure to play this week. By now, you all know how much I {heart} giving gift cards. I'm trying to catch up on December birthday's...this is for one of them. The red panel is Basic Grey Cupcake. I paper pieced the A Muse coffee to go cup with a different pattern from the Cupcake 6x6 pad {thanks Mrs. Claus!}. Why did I pick the fabulous red panel? Well, the gift card going into the card is a Starbucks Red Gift Card. Have you heard about them??

Giggling Sunshine

{patting myself on the back}...I love that title "Giggling Sunshine"....just makes me warm inside.

I'm typing up this blog post on Sunday morning....the kids are still asleep and the house is quiet {& cold}. Yesterday the local news was saying that we are in for another winter storm tonight. {sigh} I'm so tired of the snow...I was just enjoying the ability to pop into my car and drive where I wanted...I knew that I wanted to create a happy {translation = warm} card...

I've started to break into my goodies...can you believe that it has taken me this long to order from Unity Stamps? I have always admired their images but just never taken the plunge...well, they were having a fabulous sale so I picked up Giggle Grove, Becoming Butterfly and So & So was super difficult to not order more...but Mrs. Claus did a good job :) So I teamed up the Giggle Grove trees with Stampin' Up Haiku designer paper & the perfect A Muse sentiment. Saturday Finds!

One of the blogs I have in my {very full} Google Reader is the ikea hacker.

Check out this Craft Table!

A couple weeks ago, Latisha over at A Busy Little Craftee Bee, opened my world to Peachy Cheap. I scored on a Making Memories Noteworthy Embellishment Jar and the Noteworthy Ribbon Trim for $10.98 {includes shipping!}.

Here's a peek into another blog that I stalk, Design Crush. I really loved this quote.

Yesterday I made a special trip to pick up something from Ellen Hutson. Ellen couldn't be any nicer...I chatted with her and she showed me some gorgeous cards...I could have stayed there all afternoon but I had other errands...on top of stopping into my work to get a little bit done.

Mrs. Claus has been sooo kind to me...this week has been full of UPS packages...I'm going to be tapping into them this weekend so I hope to post a bunch of fresh new projects next week!!!

my happy place

I had New Years Day off and managed to only make 1 card...sheesh! I spent most of the morning de-decorating the house from all of the holiday festivities. Why does it seem like it takes longer to take down the tree than putting it up? I finally got to play with my sweet Hero Arts Big Owl..I just {heart} her! I just received my full size Memento Rich Cocoa pad {love those dew drops but this image is huge}. The velvet flower with the bling is ala Maya Road.

It has been a while since I've shared an Higher Awareness:

What inspires you?

“It is never about how good your voice is; it is only about feeling the urge to sing, and then having the courage to do it with the voice you are given.”
-- Katie in ‘True to Form’ by Elizabeth Berg

How often have you allowed fear and your inner critic to stop you from doing something you were inspired to do?

Helen Keller said,
"Life is either a grand adventure or nothing.”

When we allow fear and criticism to stop us in our tracks, we give up that grand adventure. What a waste!

“Be an all-out, not a hold-out.”
-- Norman Vincent Peale

**Did you notice my new profile pic--------->
