Trinity Stamps meets Caffeinated Inspiration

Hello and Happy Sunday!  This card has been days in the making.  I started it last week and finally put all the elements together:

I'm happy to say that 1/2 of my card is from my older stash of paper + embellishments.  The pattern paper is Pink Paislee - Citrus Bliss.  The 3 pieces of wood veneer are from Prima (I've been hoarding those for such a long time).

The stamps are from NEW company, Trinity Stamps LLC.  Love her designs and bonus points that she's a local to me!  How fun that we finally met a couple weeks ago, I should of snapped a pic!

Taniesa celebrated her birthday on Friday and Trinity Stamps is having a SALE through today!

My card was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches:

greetings from Seattle

Sunday, already?

I need a vaca from my vaca!

I haven't used that Impress Seattle skyline recently:

This skinny card (3.5 x 5.5) has a lot going on:

die cutting
watercoloring with distress inks (mowed lawn/salty ocean)
stenciling (donna downey/Prima) with distress ink (tumbled glass)
heat embossing with stamp-a-ma-jig

Here's a better shot of the skyline die:

I recently found my vellum tape and love how it works.  I used it in the lower right and left hand corner of the vellum panel.

Don't you love that Chickaniddy Crafts Silver Foil paper?  Looking to add some to your stash?  Scrapbook.com has it in stock!

Gotta love Divine Twine's

I was originally inspired by

(my apologies, it became not so CAS with the stenciling so I'm not linking up but did want to recognize the fact that it was my inspiration)

happy birthday!

Yes, I am LOVING the February Artful Delight card kit:

It's not necessarily a color palette I gravitate towards but with my new found love of watercolors, I'm super digging it.

I don't feel like I have the prima bloom knowledge but isn't that one sweet on the belly band?  The color wash that it has is perfect for all the wonderful papers in the kit.  I splashed the center panel with the heidi swapp color shine.

The Paper Smooches sentiment is one of two Paper Smooches sets that comes in the kit!  Can you believe it?!  The ink, Hero Hues, is my new black favorite that came in the December kit.

I was inspired by Laura's

I'm sure I'm one of many to be thrilled that Laura is back sketching, creating and blogging!

a breath of spring

I feel so bad for all of you that have been hit with the Arctic Blast....this card is for you:

When Kimberly was over the other day, she RAK'd me a ton of goodies, (Thanks again Kimberly), including the new Basic Grey Fresh Cuts 6x6.  I knew that I wanted to put together a springy card!

Definitely NOT postal friendly, but that Prima bloom was perfect for the papers I was working with.

I was going to stamp a sentiment but decided to use my "Glow in the Dark Thread" that I picked up at Restoration (on sale, love the neon) during the holiday's to suspend the Jillibean veneer.

Super love this

I'm also linking up to

In keeping with my "Use what I have"....

My card base is one of those 5x7 cards that you buy in mondo packages
Need to quit hoarding those fun Jillibean sentiment veneers

Timeless Twine: what's all the hoopla?

Hello!

Today is my day over on the Timeless Twine blog!

I can't believe my time with them is coming to an end.  December is my last month as a Design Team member over at Timeless Twine.

I'm trying to think outside of the box for my last couple of projects, I have to tell you, today's project has to be the most expensive and time invested project that I've ever done.  More about that in a smidge, check out my project first:

I love all the hoop art out there!

The possibilities are endless!

I used my stash of Jolee's and Prima felt blooms.

The "Love" has been hand stitched using Timeless Twine Natural.

I used an Amy Tangerine template as my guide.

Timeless Twine

I'm a flower girl, have tons of them BUT don't tend to use them on my projects.  So when I saw this beauty, I was inspired!  Then I saw this project and knew that I wanted to combine the inspirations!

I went to Ben Franklin to buy a small wreath that I could alter and add prima blooms and felt leaves.  Um, almost $100 later, I  came away with a wreath that expanded over 12 inches.  I thought, I can do it.  I have a skein of white yarn that one of the kids bought for a school project and used a couple inches.

I basically quit winding the yarn around that ginormous wreath after 30 seconds (if even that long!)...yes, I'm a quitter.

So then I was on a mission to use felt blooms but make my own green felt leaves.

Where.is.my.felt?

If you follow me on FB, it was a huge ordeal for me to look for my supply of felt and in the end, I ended up buying green felt at Impress.

So, in all honesty, after that massive hoopla about the green felt, I didn't even use it!

sigh.

BUT, I can honestly say that I love how my project turned out.  Gray is my Favorite color...it's a staple in my wardrobe.

If you made it all the way down to here, you are a rock star!  I'd love for you to pop over to the Timeless Twine blog and say Hello!

Seize the Sketch #2: Let the Shenanigans begin!

Hello!

Thanks to all that linked up to Seize the Sketch #1, awesome job ladies!

Check out Seize the Sketch #2, by my wonderful teamie

Big shout out for our Super Sponsor

Let the shenanigans begin!

Well, of course I had to get the Shenanigans set!

How could you not love saying

Shenanigans?!!!!!!

I super love this sketch and can see using it over and over.

The floral is washi that came in my Studio Calico Card kit, so did that blue/speckly panel.  The veneer is from my stash (the bloom was smooshed in Fresh Ink/Red Current) and yes, that fishtail banner is wood...I picked up a package of wood business card sized panels and I can use the paper trimmer and scissors on them without it cracking!

The top fold is essentially 3/4 inch shorter the the base/bottom flap.  That accommodates the floral washi.

CAS-ual Friday Stamps rock...

Be sure to check out the Seize the Sketch blog to see how my teamies were inspired!

Little Tangles: into the woods

Hello and Welcome to the new Little Tangles Challenge:

think:  woodgrain, cork, veneer

Check, Check & Check!

The Neat & Tangled set, Kindness Matters, is what made me fall for Danielle's designs!

I inked up the sentiment and then selectively 'wiped off' the parentheses.  I didn't want to take away from the Swirly Twirly Tag design.

The cardstock is by a German company called GMUND.  It's absolutely fabulous...seems like it is about 130 weight and comes with the embossed woodgrain.  The Prima veneer has been smooshed in Fresh Ink {thanks to Sarah for that handy tip!}.

I hope you'll join us in the Little Tangles fun!!

Make sure you check out the Little Tangles blog for more inspiration!

You'll love what my teamies have designed!

polka thank you.

Hello and Happy Father's Day Sunday!

The weekend always seems to fly by, why won't it just s-l-o-w--d-o-w-n?

Here's a quick card I made this morning, since I'm blogging live...something I rarely do these days...

This card is filled with wood veneers...my current favorite embellies!  I finally broke into my Prima wood pieces and copic'd them for a POP of color.  Ellen Hutson has some in stock and you can get 20% off her shop right now by using code:  dadsday13
{the code is good through June 17th on in stock merchandise only}

I used Timeless Twine Olive Green...the banner is Jillibean, the paper Dear Lizzy...You probably can't tell but I did distress the polka base with Fresh Ink Provincial.

I was inspired by the current CASE Study:

LOVE her style!

Just a reminder that you have through the end of the month to play along with us at Let's Get Trendy Now! 3.

There's ton of prizes AND fun!

Life is Good...

Happy Friday Eve...

Why yes, you are visiting my blog...

Not my typical card...lots of layers and details.

So here's a bit about my card and how I was inspired:

So the bloom....I spotted one over on Julie's blog and I had to have them..fully enabled by Julie!

For my birthday, my Boss' boss gave me this awesome book by  Lisa Pace:

My Boss' boss is actually an Interior Designer or that is how she started at the company over 30+ years ago.  Friday is her last working day...she's retiring.

Can I tell you that I'm sad and I'm hoping that I don't get all teary eyed at our luncheon today.  I'm like that you know...weepy...movies, commercials, weddings, funerals...sigh.

Anywho's...she's one of those kind of peoples that make you feel instantly comfortable.  She is really good about including you and she truly listens to you.  A graduate in Interior Design and Fine Art, she always encouraged my paper crafting.

I was inspired by one of the cards in book...I like the look of the stitching on the tag...gotta remember to keep doing that.

The dictionary page actually includes the word retirement but it is, obviously, covered up by the tag.

I'm trying to channel my inner Audrey Pettit....Whaddya think?

today is a new day...

One of those days....I had a ton of plans that eventually were squashed when I went out to my car that had a dead battery...sigh...gotta love AAA. That's okay, I managed to squeak out a card {and take a nap!}...

I'm still playing with my new goodies...check out one of my newest Hero Arts/Studio Calico sets, My Happy.  See that doily?  It's upcycled from Prima packaging...it's heavy transparency....just did some fussy cutting.  The cameo is ala Hambly.  I love the sentiment...don't you?

I was inspired by several challenges...first up:

The gold that I translated to yellow...the silhouette....the text.

BWS tips button

the pattern in the dress...the pops of yellow and green...the coiffed hair {is that a bump it?}

and finally Case Study 71

I love CASE Study

I cased the overall design...

I need to post this before the RIC linky expires...off to dinner with the girls...gotta love getting together for birthdays!
