The Card Concept 100 | Guest Designer

I'm so very excited to be joining The Card Concept for their 100th challenge!  A big thank you to my friend Tangii Crain for the invite!  Isn't the photo inspiration beautiful?  Here's how I was inspired:

I tend to be a literal interpretation kind of gal.  That pink pumpkin changed looks at least three times before I was happy with the look.

Let's start at the bottom and work our way up!  On my white card base I layered a Reverse Confetti Stone cardstock panel.  It has been cut with the Waffle Flower Crafts - Flower Circles Craft Die.  The smide of pattern paper is vintage Basic Grey.

The pumpkins are from Reverse Confetti's Pumpkin Patch confetti cuts.  The sentiment + decorative greenery is from their Fall Foliage stamp set.  The stem is birch paper. I heat embossed about 1/3 of the Stone pumpkin in gold

The sentiment at the bottom of the card is from the Pretty Pink Posh Giving Thanks stamp set.  A bit of a mashup of companies.

I can't wait to see how Tangii was inspired along with the other team members and their guests!  I hope that you'll play along, I can't wait to see how you're inspired!

Hero Arts - Merry Christmas Poinsettia

Hello and Happy Sunday!  How is your weekend going?  We went to a potluck luncheon yesterday, we brought 2 stockpots full of thai chicken curry.  Today I'm sharing a holiday design.  I guess I should get cracking on those cards for this year, eh?

The focal point is the Hero Arts Antique Poinsettia.  I stamped it out a couple of times and did some fussy cutting.

I stamped it on both a panel from the Foliage Mix Layering Papers and a panel from the Blush Mix Layering Papers.  I then colored over it with a darker shade of green and a darker shade of red marker.  I used my Zig Clean Color Markers.  I blended in the color with my fingers.

Isn't the Christmas Poster Background fun?  I stamped it in Soft Brown on a panel from the Earth Mix Layering Paper pack.  I watered down a drop of Delicata Gold refill with water and splattered in on top.

I finished off my card with the Merry Christmas Banner that I heat embossed in gold on a panel of vellum that I had in my stash.

This card was inspired by The Card Concept:

I was of course, inspired by the poinsettias + colors.  The dining room table inspired the earth panel in my design.

with heartfelt sympathy...

I'm sending out 2 sympathy cards this week...such difficult cards to make.  I'm a fan of non-traditional colors...the lighter and pastel the better.  This one is being sent to a family:

I haven't inked up the Reverse Confetti Rose Garden in awhile.  I originally picked it for the rose image so bonus points that it has a sympathy sentiment.  I was thinking of using a stencil for the Sand background but decided to keep it clean and crisp.

The pattern strip is from the True Love 6x6 paper pad.  The pink cardstock is Piggy Bank.  The rose is colored with Zig Clean Color Markers.  The leaves are Zig to Zig but the rose was actually colored with 2 different shades of pink and then literally saturated with water to swoosh the colors around.  I love the loose watercolor effect.  The Midnight ink and Cloud White cardstock works well for this technique.  I dried the image with my heat gun.

My Favorite Things: Let's Celebrate You!

Happy Weekend!  I have a card that has a bunch of new goodies, I finally broke into the My Favorite Things Doodled Blooms (Sold Out) Card Kit.

Honestly, I don't think I've embossed so much on one project.  I love all the added texture...do you spy the Lined Up Dots Background?  The 'vase' is from MFT Die-namics LLD Cool Cup.

The inks are from the new Distress Oxides:

The cup has Broken China that has been applied with a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool.  Using a soaked paintbrush, I flicked water droplets on the cup/vase.  The blooms have been heat embossed in Hero Arts White.  I smooshed the Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade on an acrylic block and used a wet paintbrush.

I was inspired by the MFT Sketch Challenge:

I tried to capture the baby's breath by using the Lined Up Dots background.  Rather than use a mason jar as the vase, I used the Cup from Cool Cup.

Next week we're celebrating one of my best friends birthday's, this card was made especially for her.  I'm so grateful for her, she's been fighting cancer the last 2 years and is in hospice care.  We've been friends since the kids were almost babies.  We visit with her almost weekly and laugh....a lot...definitely a highlight of my week💚

Reverse Confetti: It's Your Birthday!

It's a gusty day in the Pacific Northwest which has been making my internet very sluggish.  I wanted to get this posted before I have any big issues.

As I was trying to decide what type of card I wanted to design this morning, I thought I should start replenishing my Birthday card pile:

I tend to make Birthday cards as I need them so I'm trying to be better making more of them through the month.  I decided to keep this one clean and crisp so that it would be gender neutral.

I used the Reverse Confetti Boxes 'N Balloons set on this one.  I used Iced Aqua and Lime Green ink.  The pattern panel is from the True Love paper pad.

Hello Hello!  Having fun with a Valentine's Day design!

I used the new Reverse Confetti Mini Envie along with the heart from the Stamped Note Confetti Cuts set.  Do you see the xoxo?  That's from the Fancy Words Confetti Cuts set.

Check out what's inside the mini envie:

I popped one of the Caffeinated Cups inside the Envie...it fits perfectly, even with the felt sleeve!
