you light up my life...

Hello Crafty Peeps!

I was thrilled to have received a happy email from none other but the fabbie
Cheryl Nelson!!!! She is one of thee most sweetest and talented bloggers out there....her projects are always magnficent and over the top filled with details! She asked me to be her guest designer over on the City Crafter Challenge blog!!!

The theme for the week is:

"Let Your Light Shine"

Use the word "light" on your project or use the source of light as an inspiration

I did both:)

Crafting wise, I've been on a sunshine kick...love making scenery cards...they are just chockfull of happiness....(IRL I'm a fair weather girl...I love the fall/spring seasons and dislike extreme hot temps!}

The green paper is Bo Bunny...everything else is October Afternoon. The sentiment is Lawn Fawn and the clouds are cut from craft felt that is really thick.

Make sure you pop over to the City Crafter blog and check out what the talented Design Team came up with....I'd love to see how everyone inspires YOU!!!

Thanks againCheryl & Kirsty.....you gals rock:)

Thanks for stoppin' by and be sure to pop back tomorrow for another fun announcement...muwahahahaha...

Flashback Friday Version 2.0

Hello Peeps!!!

I'm back with another version of Flashback Friday...

I'd love to see your earliest scrapbook page!!! Notice that I didn't type 'first blogged scrapbook page'....muwahahaha....hold on you non-scrapbookers...there is something in it for you...read on..

For those of you that have been following me would know that I just started scrapbooking again this year. My original scrapbooking journey started about the year 2000. I searched through my old albums and found a page that I could post...mostly because so many of my older pages had my kids' names plastered on it...that's something that I don't post on my blog...I refer to them as my kidlets...my girl...my boy:)

Here it is in all it's glory...LOL

Let's analyze this, shall we?

I was using bright colors even back then...

I definitely did more journaling then vs now....wtheck tho...no date...grrr....

OMG, my kidlets are soooooo little...10 years ago'ish....3 & 5'ish....

I didn't even know about sketches back then....haha....good grief!

Okay, here's my latest layout....

I had a wonderful time with this layout...a happy pic of me & my boy...October Afternoon...new stamps...what could be better?!!!

I knew I wanted to use the latest Creative Scrappers layout challenge:

♥♥Flashback Friday Challenge♥♥
  • Okay, here it is....post your earliest layout on your blog and link it back here via the comments section....Peeps, when I say post it, I mean re-post it..not leaving me the link from the past...
  • Post a brand new layout with your current style and hoarded materials...LOL....

  • IF you currently aren't a scrapbooker, I challenge you to post your 1st layout...come on, take the plunge!!!!! You know what the beauty of scrapbooking is? It is something that you can keep for yourself....something different from cardmaking....it can be a keepsake....

I mentioned that I used new stamps...I discovered some sweet Teresa Collins stamps...they rock...I used the Freestyle set in my new layout. They ink up like a dream and I thought I'd share a new Teresa Collins Giving Thanks set as blog candy for some lucky person that plays along with Flashback Friday 2.0!

Isn't it a gorgeous set....oh boy, so tempted to keep it for myself...grrr...lol......

I'll give you until:

Friday, September 17th @ 11:59 pm PDT to link up.

I had such a fun time last time that I can't wait to see what you share with me this time...old and new....woot woot!!!!

Okie dokie chickies.....have a super duper friday!!!! Thanks for all the wonderful comments about my card from yesterday and about my new bloggie banner...it makes me smile everytime I see it and so did reading all your sweet comments!!!

Thursday, August 26, 2010

thanks...for everthing.

Yup, you're at the right place:)

I just loaded my new bloggie banner last night....whaddya think? I was recently reminded of the oh-so-fun Green Grass Stamps by Tanis:) When I popped into the shop I found thee most fun blog banners (& stamps!!!) and took the dive...I've had the same banner since I started my blog'ola and I've been wanting to change it up...figured I would know what I wanted when it hit me..then....♥♥bam♥♥...that's what happened...hahaha...okay, onto my card...

Here's a simple dimple card...the base is a

I was inspired by the fabbie Wplus9 Color Cue:

I LOVE my Menhdi Medallions set!

I used the following inks:

PTI Aqua Mist

Memento Lady Bug

Memento Cantoulope

The bling is ala Target $ spot:)

Such thee happy color combo!

Remember to stop by tomorrow....I'll have a new Flashback Friday:)

Happy Wednesday on Tuesday:)

Surfs Up!!!

This is a multi-tasking card:)

TONS of paper piecing on Sparkle Creations Surfing Oliver....He's been pieced with Cosmo Cricket Early Bird...the background is Cosmo Cricket Snorkel. Lots of stitching, some Making Memories alpha stickers and some mystery white twill that I found:)

Yvonne Yam over at Do more with less, has a challenge that ends tonight...hence my Wednesday post on Tuesday:) Her Guest Blogger, Sparkle Smith of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, issued a dream vacation challenge. Well, I was kind of liberal with that challenge...my boy had a BALL Paddle Board surfing in Hawaii last year so I knew that I wanted to use Surfing Oliver. Any beachy place is a dream vacation for us!
I'm also playing along with Sparkle's "anything travel" challenge over on her blog. Who wouldn't enjoy a tropical vacation?

My card is based on the oh-so-fun sketch over on Skipping Stones Design:
Okie Dokie peeps....thanks for stoppin' by!!!

thanks x 5

Here's a happy card for ya:

October Afternoon...old or new...love the stuff! I teamed it up with some American Crafts Mini Mark rub on's...

I was inspired by Sasya's sketch:

A person can never have too many thank you cards:)

Thanks for stoppin' by....

The weekends need to seriously s-l-o-w--d-o-w-n...I can't believe that it is already Monday {{sigh}}.

I have a Jillibean'licious card for you this morning:

The sentiment is ala EAD Designs Stickerz...do you see the smidge of baker's twine on the button? I found it on my worktop...probably part of some packaging that I received....perfect re-use of it:)

I was inspired by this week's CP78

♥♥Bloggie Buddie♥♥

**Flashback Friday**

Blogging takes more guts than I originally thought. I recently started my blog up and I am always so critical on what it looks like. Not that I have any followers or anything yet. LOL!

Here is my first blog post ever...

Thanks for the chance to win!

Woot Woot Ladies!!!!!

I actually have several of your snail mails already:) but sock them to me anyways....

:::Yadda Yadda:::

I thoroughly enjoy slinging out the blog candy so that was sue-pah fun for me:)

Flashback Friday....OMGoodness, I could NOT believe how many of you lovely ladies participated!!!! Now come on, wasn't that FUN?!!! Whether you are a veteran blogger or a newbie, there is something about going back to the bloggie beginnings...we have ALL grown in some way, shape or form and it truly is refreshing to be reminded of that. I personally remember trying to initially start a blog and literally giving up....I took another stab at it and well, here I am...a professed blog-a-holic. Seriously wonder what I'd do with all the 'free time' I'd have if I didn't take up this wonderfully fun hobby...well, my house might be a smidge cleaner but hey, a girl has to have her priorities {wink!}. I've had the opportunity to meet tons of new peeps via Flashback Friday...I LOVE that about blogging!!!!

I'm going to do another edition of Flashback Friday on August 27th...so be on the lookout for it...hahaha...you ladies are going to LOVE this one:)

:::Garage Sale Update:::

Well, I had Tsuruta Designs Garage Sale 2.0 yesterday...I was able to add a little more stuff to the 'inventory' but not nearly enough dehoarded was done. I do have to do a Woot Woot for my girl Elaine, that joined me. We ALWAYS howl when we are together so that made my 5 hours fly by....ALL the peeps that came through the sale were ultra nice, what crafty peep isn't?! I had 'repeat customers' even...lol...happy to say that I made a couple hundred dollars that will go into my 'Organizational Fund'. I'm motivated to dehoard and my reward will be to pick out versatile organizational pieces....

Okie Dokie...thanks for getting through my belated and long winded post....once again...thanks for all the bloggie love and for participating in my Flashback Friday challenge. If you didn't get a chance to play along last time, I hope you will this Friday:)

Well, better get movin'....planning on craftin' today AND hopefully will be able to meet up with a bloggie friend today that will be in town...more deets on that tomorrow, hopefully:)

a little birdie told me...

This week we are being sponsored by:

KLM Digi Stamps!

Check out this week's sketch!

Oh boy....this was a fun design...lotsa paper piecing on this puppy:) I used the Sampler Block from KLM Digi!

Do you notice the button flowers? They even have 'pearly stems'....this is a true amy card...5 different Cosmo Cricket Earth Love patterns:)

I hope that you'll join us in the 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday fun!!!!!

Be on the lookout for the Blog Candy post...sorry ladies...didn't get to it on Saturday! I'll be slinging out the names this morning and also be chatting about my crafty garage sale..

beachy keen...

Sharing a bunch of stuff this Saturday Morning...Here's a layout I put together:

You might recognize the pic from my trip down to Oregon last month. I tend to scrap with primarily black & white pics...there's a reason for that...I think that it is easier...I worry about coordinating colors etc...so when it came to this particular pic I was seriously struggling with it...I initially thought of using grey/navy but problem is, I don't have much in those colors...at all....so I took my hat and was inspired by the colors on that:)

All the paper is ala Echo Park...LOVE their stuff...a ton.

I was inspired by Twisted Sketch #63:

This week's twist is "Fold" - any how, any way!

So that's why I have that folded number on my page...it is held together with zig zag stitching ala vintage thread! Although it doesn't lay straight, I believe that is what gives the layout a whimsical feel:)

The canvas flower is Jillibean {patting myself on the back for not hoarding}, the buttons are PTI and the alpha is Thickers, of course:)

I Love this Life

{yes, I do!}

Next is a card using the Schlosser Designs Have A Tweet Day set:

All the patterned paper is Pink Paislee...I cut out the bird image...slapped on some Martha Glitter Glue and coated it with Martha Glitter! The pearls are by KaiserCrafts and the tiny bloom is vintage Prima:) Everything is nestled on a PTI Kraft base...

I've been loving the sketch challenges over on
Skipping Stones Design:

Okay, I just wanted to share a couple more pictures from my recent mid-western vaca:) These were taken in a small, small, small town in Eastern Montana...I have 2 words for you:

Pitchfork Fondue:

I kid you not...it was pretty tasty:)

Check out their petite "elephant ears"...

I definitely had my taste of "small town living"....Could I ever live in a small town? I actually live in a small suburb of Seattle but the convenience of the access to big city happenings is something that I really enjoy:) Oh yeah, and I can't live without my Starbucks:)

Be on the lookout for my Blog Candy Slingings....bear with me since I'm also doing my Garage Sale this morning until 1 pm PDT :)

Friday, August 20, 2010

joyful things...

Hello & Happy Friday!!

Have you ever had one of those blog posts....one that had so many technical difficulties...probably user oriented rather than blogger but it feels better to blame blogger....this post has taken for-ever to compose...my pics were just NOT loading...so I shaved down the post and la-tee-da...it worked...grrrrrrrr.....

I'm trying to team up my new goodies with my slightly neglected goods:)

My new goods:

EAD Vinyl Stickerz Fly away with me

My sadly neglected goods:

A Muse Madeira paper

So whaddya think?!! I'm LOVIN' the EAD Fly away with me Stickerz....they are super fun to paper piece with:)

I was inspired by Card Patterns #77:

Wee Memories has a fun Buttons, Brads and Bling Challenge running...

It is so easy smeasy to add some embellies onto a card...my card has doubled up buttons:)

Well, I hope to share some pics and a layout tomorrow...{crossing my fingers that blogger will cooperate with me} be on the lookout for my many blog candy slingings too....I have 7 priority flat rate envies with some candy in each ready to go postal:)

P.S. For those of you that played along yesterday on my vaca guesses...Those pics were taken in the lovely state of North Dakota...specifically the Theodore Roosevelt National Park!!

Thursday, August 19, 2010

thanx and some vaca pics...

Well, I finally was able to be crafty last night...I managed to do some internet shopping before I went on vaca so when I got home I was surrounded by new goodies:)

Today's card has some new Cosmo Cricket 'Togetherness' and Lawn Fawn's Bannerific & Harold's ABCs:

I was inspired by Kazan's sketch 59 over at 2S4Y:

Each panel has stitching with vintage thread...something that I noticed with my Flashback Friday card is that it didn't have any stitching...I love stitching...if you haven't had a chance to check out some of the posts over on Flashback Friday...you really should...it's been so fun:)

♥♥Feedback please♥♥

I'm thinking of making the dive and buying a Photo Light Tent...any input ladies?!!! Who has a Photo Light Tent out there...I'll be honest, yes I know I can find tuts on DIY Photo Tents but I'm l-a-z-y....don't want to go that route. I want to be able to photog cards and 12 x 12 layouts...I love the crisp white backgrounds...I live in washington state and pretty soon natural sunlight will be slim pickin's for me since I tend to craft in the early morning hours or in the evening...

♥♥Vaca photos♥♥

Here are a couple vaca photos from one of the states we were in...any guesses where it is?

Okay, now how adorable is this chubby Prairie Dog?

Wild horses...

Buffalo...funny thing, after we saw the Buffalo Darin even commented that he knew that I'd remember the Prairie Dog and not the Buffalo....psssstttt....he's right...the Prairie Dog is way cuter:)

LOVE the sunflower fields....this was taken while we were driving...action shot:)

Okay, thanks for making it all the way through this blog post...I'll be back tomorrow with a couple cards and hopefully a layout...I have a ton of catching up to do!!!
