Greetings | Woodblock Wednesday

Hello and Welcome back to Woodblock Wednesday.  I'm going to be honest, I didn't think I was going to have a project for today.  This card took multiple tries but I'm happy with the overall outcome.

Let me introduce you to the stamps:

[retired] Art Definition - Stampers Anonymous - V1-929
Antique Bee and Flowers - Hero Arts - K6224
Greetings from the Northwest - Impress - 5254D

I had a heck of a time with that Stampers Anonymous text design.  I tried with both dye ink and distress oxide and settled with the Distress Oxide Pumice Stone on Reverse Confetti Stone cardstock.

I heat embossed the Antique Bee and Flowers image with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl.  I absolutely love the look...it kind of all goes with the uneven text stamping.

That stone panel was stamped on both sides so while I was giving it a go on the 'original' side, I didn't realize the backside picked up ink from my work surface...sigh.  I then proceeded to use the backside for what ultimately became my front panel.  It all goes with the distress look don't you think?

Before you go, guess what the girl and I did on Sunday afternoon:

For you green thumbs, it doesn't seem like a big deal and you're probably shaking your head thinking it's late in the season to do this but I'm so happy with how they turned out.  Honestly before this, there were dead sticks in there...LOL.

I have yet another plant for the inside of the house too.  I couldn't resist the coffee drinking gnome:

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Day Six/Post Two: oh happy day!

Hello!  Today is Day Six (post 2) of the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  I'm so thrilled to be a part of this hop and hope you enjoy all the inspiration!

I've been so inspired by all of the projects that have linked up to the hop!  I FINALLY inked up with awesome stamp by Tim Holtz

Oh Happy Day!

cardstock:  recollections/110/white, stampin' up night of navy, wausau/re-entry red  stamps:  stampers anonymous/freshly brewed blueprints  ink:  ranger/archival/black, distress ink barn door/pumic stone/tea dye, copic b39/prussian blue, r46/strong red, 0.38 red pen from muji, evalicious wood veneer

I cut strips of cardstock and adhered them for my left side panel.  Love the alternating red & blue, reminds me of one of my boy's ties.  Speaking of the boy, it's his last day of high school and it's definitely bittersweet for him.  I love that guy so much, heart of gold.

The veneer....yes, hoarded ferociously, but gah, I know I gotta use the cute stuff that I buy {wink}.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches:

..and Colour me:

Yup, that's the tie that my boy has!

This card came together so quickly!  A combo of my excitement to ink up that awesome coffee stamp and the fabulous inspiring challenges!

Have you been hopping along?  There are so many AWESOME projects that have linked up to the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Case Study 202: friends.

...and I'm back with my final week of Guesting over at CASE Study!

In case you missed it, I'm guesting along with Awesome Tenia Nelson!  This month's muse is the FABulous  Shari Carroll!

Here's this week's inspiration:

Seriously, what's not to love?

Here's how I was inspired:

stamps:  stampendous friends cup, stampers anonymous background text, a muse coffee break set ink:  memento rich cocoa, various copics

I'm especially proud of this project because I managed to use 2 woodmount stamps:

Evidently, I love to display my woodmounts more than I love to use them.

So my project is a square of fairly thick cork with a magnet on the back:

Won't this make a great gift for a fellow Coffee Lover?

I can't wait to see how you're inspired!

Don't forget to pop over to the Case Study blog to see what the design team created!

A big shout out to Chupa for inviting me to be a Guestie this month!  I truly enjoyed my time!

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!
