washi hello.

Happy Sunday!

We're experiencing a small heatwave in the pacific northwest and I'm melting.  I realize that it doesn't get nearly as hot as it can in other states but there is a reason why I live in the Seattle area...I'm a fair weather girl.

okay, enough of the weather.

I love washi.

Sometimes I think I love to collect it more than I use it!

I picked up a couple rolls of green washi at Impress and decided to go to town with them:

I actually covered a 4.25 x 5.5 inch panel with the washi...cleaned it up and then adhered it to my card panel.  That way it is all neat & tidy on the inside:)

I love to combine Neat and Tangled's

4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.

I'm on Lesley's Team:

I was inspired by the

Here's what I designed:

I decided to go the asian bird route.  Each crane has been fussy cut and each is on a foam pop dot to simulate flight.

origami cranes

We folded a thousand for my brother and sister-in-law's symbolizes good fortune.

I'm going to squirrel this card away for my girl that will be going away for college this fall.

For the Japanese, the crane or tsuru {aha..sound familiar?!} are viewed with special value.

I'm going to start collecting origami crane themed items for the girl.  I already gave her this gorgeous necklace for her birthday this year.

Make sure you pop over to the Fusion blog!!!!

Looking for a unique image or sentiment?

Well then! Welcome to Scribbles Designs!
And welcome to Sandy's world of her funky imagination and quirky characters.

The winner will receive 3 images of their choice

To learn more about our guidelines, please click HERE.

Unfortunately, my printer is not cooperating so I'll be back next week with a card designed with a super fabulous Scribbles Designs image!

This week I went scrappy with my card:

I went nautical style...I've been really enjoying this trend and I dehoarded that gorgeous glittery seahorse from a Paper Issues kit.

I picked up some 12x12's...the wave paper is Carta Bella and the fish paper is Fancy pants.

The sentiment is PTI.

I really need to invest in some circle dies...I used a Target $ tin to create mine:)

Make sure you check out the Seize the Birthday blog for all the deets about our Super Sponsor and to see what the other gals on the Design Team created!

my favorite.

Half way through the work week my friends!

You all know how much I love cork, wood veneer and tags....

So much to say about this card:

A Big Crafty Shout out to Nina Yang for her new stamp sets and dies at Avery Elle!

The card uses her tag die and her Simply Tags set!

I was inspired by her fabulous sketch:

I used my older Pink Paislee, Prairie Hill paper.  The word bubbles are by Recollections.  The heart is Studio Calico.

I'm going to have my girl send this to my Momma, who was beyond generous to her for graduation!

Timeless Nest: we'll weather it together

This is post 2 of 2 for me today...make sure you pop over to my Jane's Doodles post, I have some news.

Howdy and Happy Monday!

I'm up on the Timeless Twine blog today!

We've been collaborating with

Did you know that The Robin's Nest carries paper?  I am combining their Mouse collection with their Fleur Admiral collection

Here's what happens when you combine all that goodness:

The tear shaped dew drops by The Robin's Nest are perfect for rain drops!

I used a smidge of the Lemonade Yellow twine to outline the sun but still maintain a clean and crisp design!

I'd love for you to pop over to the Timeless Twine blog and leave me some bloggie love!

Jane's Doodles: Thank you

This is post 1 of 2 for today...make sure you pop over to my Timeless Twine post!

Hello and a Happy Monday.

Oh how I adore gold heat embossing:

I will make a handful of these for my girl's graduation thank you's.  She picked the cardstock color and well, I did the can kinda sorta say it was a team effort.

This has to be one of my all-time favorite Jane's Doodles sets

The detail is exquisite.

Peonies are my girl's favorite bloom too!

It's with a heavy heart that I tell you this is my last post for Jane's Doodles.

I decided to step down from the team.  I've been with Jane for over a year and I just feel like it is time.  I can go into my normal ramblings about being on too many design teams but you know what always happens....I end up loading up my plate again!

So here's a ginormous shout out to Jane and all the lovely ladies on the Design Team.
You are all a continual inspiration to me!!!

With that, I leave you with a bunch of my favorite Jane's Doodles cards that I've created over my term:

Extra-Ordinary Goodness

How's the weekend goin'?

We had such glorious weather perfect for the girl's graduation party!  That was the end of my day...I was on-the-go all the way up until the party.  So, today will be filled with ton's of crafting.

I'm bloggin' live

I hope to concentrate on thank you cards this week for my girl to send out.

Here's no. 1:

I ♡♡♡ the color yellow.  Team it up with an aqua green and **sigh**.

I was inspired by the latest

Who doesn't love Lisa Spangler?!!!

I was inspired by her overall design.

Do you want to see how I craft?

Yup, this is just for this one very clean and crisp card:

I tend to crafty by manufacturer...this is mostly American Crafts with, yes, SRM stickers.

I've been really good about putting it all away before starting the next card.  Well, I literally have to, or else I won't have any room for the next batch of goodies to work with.

Usually my posts are all complete for the I don't typically chat about everyday stuff until the weekend, but lately I've been bad about that.  I need to chat about stuff since this is like my journal too.

I wanted to share that I love to meet up with bloggie friends and a couple weeks ago

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Kimberly at one of my favorite stores, Ben Franklin!  Multi-tasking at its best, eh?  This girl helped me dehoard some lovelies, thanks for helping me out Kimberly!

I am lucky enough to work right next door to Sarah.  Who knew, it was funny when we discovered that little bit of info!  We finally got together, picked up lunch at the Pike Place Market and then went back to her building which has a gorgeous roof top deck!  It's always fun to talk craft geek with another person that shares your passion.  I especially loved hearing about Sarah's very fascinating job!

Just last week I met up with Katie!  We had lunch together and sat outside her office...I'm getting quite the tours of Seattle awesome offices!  It's fun to hatch plans with a fellow crafter:)

I've said this before and I'll say it again and again.  I love living in Washington state.  We're surrounded by water and mountains...awesome crafty companies/stores and awesome crafty people!

Make sure you pop by Kimberly, Sarah and Katie's blog's....They are all so chock full of crafty talent!!!!!

Fusion: Snap, I forgot your birthday!

We're already up to Fusion #12!

Awesome work on last week's Fusion challenge ladies!

Check out the newest challenge:

1. Play with just Jackie's sketch challenge.

2. Play with just Lesley's inspiration photo challenge.

3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.

4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.

I'm on Lesley's Team:

I thought this was going to be a slam dunk for me...I think the thing that was throwing me was that I wanted to incorporate everything in the picture onto my card...that wasn't going to happen.

Let's start with the blue panel, I embossed it with polkas because I see a ton of circles in the picture from the camera lens to the flowers.

I knew that I wanted to use my very neglected Hero Arts big owl, I've been on a mission to use what I have and especially the older stuff.  I inked her up with Hero Arts Pink Neon, ugh, whoever used my owl last didn't clean her.  {okay, that was probably me} it took me forever to get to this shade of pink...lots of stamping and cleaning {repeat}.

The feltie camera?  I've been hoarding it {Amy Tangerine}...truth be told, when I was digging around for something else, I came across a package of Amy's felties {yes, evidently I'm on a first name basis with her..come on, we are kindred spirits since we have the same first name and we're both Asian!}.

I threw on some green sequins to represent the green camera...everything is nestled onto the yellow chevron bitty bag.

This will make a great

Snap!  I forgot your birthday!
