I'm a challenge-a-holic and they help me get through my stash.  Here's a great example, I picked up the 12x12 pad of Pebbles Cottage Living and haven't used it until I designed this card:

cardstock:  bazzill/ash  paper:  pebbles'/cottage living  stamps:  verve/words of wisdom  ink:  ranger/archival/black

The 12x12 papers are great to fussy cut blooms & such like I did for today's card.  The center panel with the petite grey/white blooms is from my 6x6 pad and I left on the top polka band, rather than cutting it off.

I'm a sentiment-a-holic and absolutely LOVE Verve's Words of Wisdom.  Awesome quotes and mix of fonts.

Evidently my card needs to go on a diet...I may have neglected to make it skinny:

Thanks for stoppin''s to a happy Friday!  I'm sure I'm racing around doing last minute tasks for the shower tomorrow.

...the power of two.

Stripes, I love them...polkas too but I've been having fun making my own stripe paper border:

cardstock:  stampin' up night of navy/calypso coral, recollections/110/white  stamps:  stampin' up yippee-skippee/gorgeous grunge  ink:  fresh ink pumpkin/navy other:  mama elephant creative cuts/tag, stampin' up baked brown sugar twine

The horizontal stripes are made by using 0.5 inch strips of Stampin' Up Calypso Coral & Night of Navy.  The sentiment is from the retired, Yippee-Skippee set <-- this set is so fun:

I also inked up Gorgeous Grunge.  I had to contain myself and not add 2 lattes to the card:)  This is an anniversary card.

I was inspired by Colour Me:

Hope you're having an awesome week!

adventure awaits!

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  I don't generally post so late in the day but since I had been working on this card since yesterday morning, I thought I'd go ahead and post it.  I've been wanting to ink up my new Newton's Nook stamps, Message in a Bottle.  Love it and the coordinating dies.

cardstock:  bazzil marshmallow  paper:  carta bella/ahoy there, crate paper/poolside  stamps:  newtons nook/message in a bottle ink:  ranger archival black  other:  kuretake gansai tambi, newton's nook/message in a bottle dies, dcwv cork

I finally remembered to order some Bazzill Marshmallow from Ellen.  It's one of the many tips I learned from taking a Julie Ebersole class at Impress.  You can gently watercolor on it...all the coloring you see was done ala my Kuretake Gansai Tambi!  I super love those watercolors and they've become my all-time go-to coloring media...yet again, thanks to Julie!

My paper is a combo of Carta Bella and Crate Paper.  I used some Gansai Tambi on the horizontal panel to add a little interest and to highlight the stamped anchor and sentiment.

Do you see that fun octo?  I messily colored her with the Gansai Tambi and finished her off with my $ spot chalk marker...added a couple polkas and filled in the 'suction cups'.

My card was inspired by the clean & simple version of retro sketches:

Today's my day off, we have dental appointments in the afternoon but this morning is dedicated to crafting and prepping for the bridal shower on Saturday.

happy birthday

I was a busy girl the other day and managed to make several cards....although a majority of them won't be posted until next week, I always feel so accomplished when I can be super productive.

paper:  carta bella/hello again  stamps:  paper smooches/sentiment sampler, blossoming buds  ink:  hero arts hues/black, stampin' up white embossing powder  other:  martha stewart wool yarn, papertrey ink vellum, freckled fawn enamel dots, paper smooches coffee & tea/gift tags 2 dies

I haven't played along with the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge in awhile!

I've always been a fan of the Designer Drafts Challenge:

Seriously, the Blossoming Buds set is one of my favorite florals!  Did you notice the 'vase'?  I used the Coffee & Tea those and really it's such a great price for dies.

I've been on an ice cream kick...both consuming and creating

cardstock:  hero arts mixed blush paper:  crate/poolside  other:  crate poolside ephemera pack, pebbles glitter tape.

The Crate Poolside collection is new to me....I took a Kelly Purkey class at Impress on Saturday and we had the collection to work with with it...for Christmas cards....more on that in a bit.  Don't you love that background panel...are they ice cream cones or snow cones <--- either is good:)  See that smidge of glitz in the middle of the bloom?  I had a bit of glitter tape leftover from an earlier project and decided to pop it on there.

My card was inspired by:

So on Saturday, I took a card class at Impress taught by Kelly Purkey.  She taught an earlier mini album class that Kimberly and Kate both took so I made sure to get there a smidge early to chit-chat.

Okay, Kelly Purkey is the cutest!  What a sweet person and so talented.  I had a ton of fun in the class and LOVE her new holiday release!

Here's one of the cards that we made....I did my own twist on it but isn't that yeti adorable?!

This is a busy week for me as we prep for a bridal shower that the girl is hostessing at the house.  Since the bride-to-be is gluten free, we've decided to have a fully gluten-free menu for the afternoon.  It's all about the lovely bride-to-be!  Decorations are from Paper Source (cha-ching but it is going to be lovely).

with sympathy.

Hello again.  I don't generally post 2 cards in a day if I can help it but I decided to play along with Mojo Monday.

paper:  teresa collins/memorabilia  stamps:  verve/kind words  ink:  stampin' up white embossing powder, fresh ink charcoal

A dear friend of my Mom's recently passed away at 90 years old.  She was fighting cancer.  My Mom is pretty traditional so I'm hoping that she isn't going to think this is too wild.  Honestly, I don't like to use blacks/grey for sympathy cards... I used Verve's Kind Words stamp set.  To make the panels work for the bloom image, the size has been trimmed down to 5 x 3.5.  I like that size!

I was inspired by Mojo Monday:

I posted this pic on IG earlier today:

I was able to create 10 cards today.  I've been having fun with my Hero Arts Ombre Ink pads!  My new favorite is Lime to Forever Green!  I could have easily whip together more but the kids wanted to hang out at the coffee shop with could I say no?

SFYTT: Here's the Scoop!

Although the weather in the Pacific Northwest has cooled down again, I have to say that I've had more ice cream this summer than ever.  I mean seriously, you can never go wrong with ice cream!

paper:  pink paislee/hometown summer  stamps:  reverse confetti/love & ice cream  ink:  stampin' up white embossing powder  other:  reverse confetti/love & ice cream and class act confetti cuts, starbucks coffee sleeve, papertrey ink vellum, spellbinders pinking circle, mme enamel dots, white craft foam

I had so much fun putting this card together!  Love and Ice Cream is such a fun set that isn't just for the summer time!  I embossed the sentiment in white on vellum, I always love that look.  The cone has been die cut from a coffee sleeve:)  The ice cream scoop is 2 layers, the bottom is white craft foam and I topped it off with a little heart wood veneer.

Today's card was inspired by the July SFYTT:

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop: be your own kind of beautiful

Hello Hello!  I love it when I can play along with the PTI monthly blog hops!  There is soooo much inspiration and fun!  Here is July's inspiration:

Truthfully, I'm not much of a butterfly girl....don't get me wrong, I do have the Life is Beautiful set & dies....but I realized I wasn't a butterfly girl because this inspiration had me stumped.  When I get like that I work harder to figure things out and generally I look to my pinterest boards to help me....check out THIS card by the oh-so-awesome, Melissa Phillips.  I had to obviously change up the colors to coordinate with the challenge and this is what happened:

cardstock:  papertrey ink vellum, recollections/110/white  paper:  carta bella/beautiful moments  stamps:  papertrey ink/life is beautiful  ink:  stampin' up white embossing, ranger archival black, fresh ink fig  other:  MT washi, ranger tag, staple

I absolutely LOVE the sentiment!  I tried to capture the overall colors of the inspiration photo.

Here are my Papertrey Ink supplies:

I'm really looking forward to the hop and checking out all of the awesome inspiration!

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!!!!!

it's pasture birthday...

TGIF!!!  I have so much to do but wanted to spend some time this morning to make this fun shaker card:

cardstock:  recollections/110/white, stampin' up crumb cake  stamps:  stampin' up/from the herd  ink:  memento tuxedo, ranger archival black, various copics  other:  reverse confetti beautiful banners confetti cuts, stampin' up in color sequin mix

No foam tape on this one, just a sheet of acetate and some sewing!  Here's the interior:

I was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch:

I didn't use any patterned paper on this shaker so for me that equates to clean & simple:)

Check out my newest Starbuck mug:

...compliments of Darin! He just returned home from the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh {translation: the equivalent to CHA). This year he flew his airplane over...another thing to check off of his bucket list. So happy that he has a hobby that he loves!

liquid therapy

Happy Wednesday!  We call it my first Friday, since it's my day off (I work M/T/Th).  I'm inking  up a new coffee set!

cardstock:  ranger watercolor  paper:  dear lizzy/neapolitan  stamps:  a creative journey with melissa/coffee is my liquid therapy  ink:  ranger archival black  other:  paper smooches gift tags 2, kuretake gansai tambi, may arts twine

One of the highlights of the various Coffee Lovers Blog Hops is getting to know crafters & companies.  Melissa is the owner of A Creative Journey with Melissa:

Check out her FUN coffee set,  Coffee is my Liquid Therapy:

I used the coffee sleeve with the 'foam/whip' to create my own cupcake!  Everything has been colored with Kuretake Gansai Tambi.

My tags were inspired by Tag You're It!

I was inspired by the double stitched tags and twine.

So here's that same tag as the focal point for a tall & skinny card:

cardstock:  ranger watercolor  paper:  dear lizzy/neapolitan  stamps:  a creative journey with melissa/coffee is my liquid therapy  ink:  ranger archival black  other:  paper smooches gift tags 2, kuretake gansai tambi, may arts twine, doily

I 'had' to play along with Cupcake Inspirations Challenge :  Coffee and Cupcakes

What a super fun challenge..2 of my + cupcakes.

I love colors and patterns....I can confidently put together pieces when it's all part of the same collection, like Chickaniddy's Twirly Girly.  Pale pink with orange and a dash of grey and silver...that makes me a happy crafter:

cardstock:  chickaniddy crafts/silver surfer  paper:  chickaniddy crafts/twirly girly  stamps:  reverse confetti shine from within  ink:  ranger archival black  other:  reverse confetti tag me/oh my stars confetti cuts, may arts twine, black hemp cord, misc button

If you've been following me for a while, you know that I'm smitten with quotes.  The Reverse Confetti Shine From Within is awesome:

I teamed it up with the Reverse Confetti Tag me & Oh My Stars Confetti Cuts:

I wanted to give Mountain Plains Crafters a big shout out for the awesome May Arts Prize Pack they sent me!  Love the goodies, and the black/white twine is ala May Arts!

I haven't played along with Retro Sketches for a while but when I saw that tag, I knew what I wanted to do:

Hope that you're having a great week!
