Happy Birthday | Avery Elle

I picked up the Avery Elle Llamazing set at Ellen Hutson LLC's during their last sale.   I have so many other projects I should have been working on this morning but it's okay, you gotta whip up some 'just because' cards too!

I picked up that Flora & Fauna Rainbow die during one of their sales.  Yeah, do you see a trend?  I just love a sale and then things start to pile up and I know I need to use those goodies that I just 'had' to have.

So I started off with a Bristol Panel and one of Kristina Werner's Distress Oxide color combos.  I tend to gravitate to her first set.

I used copics to color the rainbow:

R00000 | R00
YR0000 | YR00

My colored cardstock is from Close to My Heart:

I love it because it is lightweight, perfect for layering and is double sided with a slightly darker tone on the flipside.

I searched for a sentiment to fill in that space and it is from the Avery Elle Birthday Bus set.

My card was inspired by CAS(E) this sketch!

Stay Cool | Inspired by Challenge - Cool Treats

Hello and Welcome to another new Inspired by Challenge!  There is also an optional sketch challenge:

I just knew what I was going to use for this challenge, the Concord & 9th Cool Treats Turnabout Stamp Set.  They currently have it on sale through the end of the month!

I was able to capture the popsicle and color theme on my project.  The Catherine Pooler Inks I used:

It's a Girl
Party Dress
Shea Butter

I also have the coordinating dies to make that center sweet treat focal point.  Do you see what I did?  I used a Starbucks coffee sleeve for the popsicle stick.

I thought by adding the poms that it would bring out the vertical nature of the original inspiration photo although it makes it not so postal friendly.

I love the Turnabout sets.  The end results are really quite amazing.

I can't wait to see how my other teamies were inspired, please check out the Inspired by Challenge Blog!

Cup of Cheer | Newton's Nook Designs

I'm super excited.  I just booked a trip home for my boy!  We haven't seen him since Christmas and miss him terribly.  That's what inspired the theme of my card this morning:

Newton Dreams of New York is perfect for today.  My boy lives in Brooklyn.  I had to fit in the bagel and coffee too, of course!  The sentiment is from their Cup of Cocoa set.

I added the Reverse Confetti - Over The Rainbow confetti cuts because I'm in rainbow mode!

I dry embossed the pink panel with an old We R Memory Keepers graffiti embossing folder.

I was inspired by the current Inky Paws Challenge:

Hey Honey! | SugarPea Designs

I'm popping in speedy quick to share this card that features SugarPea Designs.

Their Hey Honey set is the absolutely cutest.  Who can resist that big ole bear?!  I teamed it up with their Honeycomb Stencil.  I did it lightly around the edges with Mustard Seed Distress Oxide and a blending brush.

I love how you have the option to just use die cuts for the bear with minimal stamping/coloring.  I'll have to try that next time!

I was inspired by their Mix It Up challenge.  That color palette = delish!  That semicircle was screaming the bear image!

Party | Catherine Pooler Designs

I managed to whip up three card yesterday before driving around doing errands and having the kids over for brunch.  I recently picked up more of Catherine Pooler's latest release.  This time I'm playing with the Party Fans set:

This set will get easier for me to use as the stamps get stained.  It's a bit tricky when you use a soft color base and are trying to add the 2nd layer but I LOVE the results.

My Catherine Pooler Ink colors:

It's a Girl
Party Dress
Mint to Be

My center die cut is a Hero Arts Tag Frame.  I went a bit crazy with the gold stars.

The 2 larger fans have been adhered on top of the acetate layer for more easy movement of the shaker contents.

I was inspired by CAS(E) the sketch!

Big Grumpy | Taylored Expressions

My Coffee Loving Cardmaker teamie, Lisa Golzbein sent me an adorable card that featured the fun Big Grumpy set by Taylored Expressions.  I instantly ordered both versions that they carry.  Their newest, Hot Flash Grumplings, is on my wishlist!  Here's how I was inspired:

Good Grief these guys crack me up.  I love their ginormous size too!  This is the Big Grumpy [Bear].  Love that sentiment, it is so me.

I adore Kristina's Oxide Color combos!  I blended on Bristol.  My yellow base panel is CTMH and I used an older Stampin' Up embossing Folder.

My copic colors:

YR0000 | E000
E40 | E41

My next card uses the Big Grumpy - Cat:

Funny thing, you know that I love that caffeinated sentiment but I'm a total Early Bird.  I'm definitely NOT a night owl!

Here are the copics i used:

R0000 | R00
W11 | W1
W3  | W5

I love the Trinity Stamps' Layered Coffee Bean Stencil.  The cute cat is sitting on an oval vellum layer.

That's it for me today!  I hope you have an amazing Sunday!

Enjoy Your Day | The Card Concept

The other day I was moving things around in my craft room and spotted a couple sets that I haven't inked up in awhile, Papertrey Ink Cozy Christmas and Stampin' Up Badges & Banners.  Here's how I was inspired:

Oh I know, this isn't my current color palette that I've been playing with.  I haven't created in earth tones for awhile.   Do you spot that dry embossed panel?  It's a retired Elizabeth Crafts Bark Embossing Folder.

The Echo Park pad is so much fun, filled with awesome patterns.  I picked it up last year at a CK Convention.  I was looking forward to it this year but things happen.  It's been such a strange year, hasn't it?

I was thoroughly inspired by The Card Concept:

I was inspired by the thermos and the earth tones and plaid.  That Cabin sign is what incorporated my sentiment!  I'd label my card in the Freestyle Collage category.

Happy Weekend!
