Kim Hughes/Paper Smooches

I thought I'd do a run down on my 12 FAV cards that I designed in 2012...Here we go:

{This was for a Paper Smooches challenge, I love anything coffee oriented!}

{HA...I told you I love coffee cards...this set is ala Skipping Stones Designs}

{I gave this to my daughter on Girl's Day, a Japanese holiday, and she still has it in her that's sayin' something}

{Fairy in a Jar, nothing else needs to be said}

{shades of EAD Designs...I MISS YOU!!!}

{the colors just make me happy}

{I made this when I was a Guest Designer for The Twinery}

Why yes, that is a coffee filter for the liner...

...and yes, of course it is a Starbucks card!

{of course I had to pick this one!}

{I love text-y paper...}

{my boy said that this was a piece of Art and promptly put it in his room!}

{I love being inspired by other designers...this was inspired by Karin Å not my typical style but I love the results}

{a card I made specifically for a sweet boy named Sebastian}

Whew, kudos to you if you made it through all 12 cards....I want to thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I have a brand new "fight like a girl" set by A Muse Studio:

I was sent a duplicate set and when I called A Muse Studio they told me to just go ahead and keep it.  Now how fabulous is that?  I'm paying it forward...for one lucky duck.  I will also include a bunch of stuff from my stash, don't worry, you won't be disappointed!

Please leave me a comment and let me know one of your crafty goals of 2013.  The winner will be announced on Saturday, January 5th.

One of my 2013 crafty goals is have a project picked up for publication!

Now hippety-hop over to Jessie's blog!

Good Luck!

Happy New Years Eve...

Happy New Years Eve!

I thought I would post some of the pictures I had on my blog in 2012 along with what little scrapbooking I managed to complete.

I'm hoping that 2013 will hold more photographs and scrapbooking.'s going to be a memorable year, I just know it.

My girl will be graduating high school this June....We're anxious to see what colleges give her the big thumbs up, although they should ALL give her the the thumbs up because she is a mighty smart firecracker:)  This big time in her life has me excited and sad all at the same time.  She's my baby bird....I'm going to be an absolutely sobbing mess at her graduation...sigh.

okay, let's get started, shall we?

Every year I try to take the kids onto 2 trips....this was our first one of 2012, we stayed at beach house on the Washington Coast, I loved it.

Shades of the girl...she doesn't like to get her picture taken
{chevron scarf}

Me & My Boy @ the beach
{he's a ham and will always take a pic with his Momma}

Here's a pic from July, it was my boy's birthday party...
{I love my boy!}

My Birthday
{me and my honey...I love that man!}

My birthday cake ala the kids
{it was delish!}

We took a trip to California this summer....
{the kids at Stanford}

A high school graduation requirement is to job shadow a professional in your field of choice
{my girl had the awesome opportunity to shadow 2 Research Assistants at a Seattle biotech company}

Here are some layouts I managed to sling out in 2012:

My Girl
{picture taken by my boy}

the american dream
{about my Momma...on the right in the pic...she sailed from Japan to the US}

Pike Place Market
{a field trip when the kids were much younger...11 years ago}

Same picture but different feel
{yup, it's the same pic but scrapped totally different}

There you have it...I love to take pictures and I love to scrapbook but:

1. I forget to take pictures
2. I love the instant gratification of card making...scrapbooking takes me for-ever!

How about you?

Some good news will be posting for it
It's been posted...check it out HERE.

I'll be back at 9 pm pacific for a fun 'lil won't want to miss it!

ready set go....

Happy New Years Eve...Eve.

I designed this card especially for a girl...she leaves this week to study abroad.  What a fantastic opportunity for her and I'm so very excited for her!

Yes, I'm still using Amy Tangerine's Ready Set Go Collection.  The envelope was something from my stash and the twine is ala Divine Twine.

My card is loosely based on the Freshly Made Sketch:

I thought I'd do a run down on all the Amy Tangerine Ready Set Go cards that I've managed to design as of today....I still have quite a bit of the collection left.  This has definitely been a learning experience for me.  Whether I take the lesson and actually do something with it, well, that's another blog post.

Let me know which is your favorite:

awesome sauce
{I love the different textures in this card...hello, a mason jar?!}

winter birthday wishes
{I'm a huge fan of GREEN but love this for a winter birthday}

Have a Happy Birthday
{masculine cards are ALWAYS a challenge for me but I do love how this one turned out}

{Green, Green and more Green...sigh}

Hello There
{Um, tag and wood chip...chevron and cupcakes}

Home Sweet Home
{I'm no digi diva but like how this one turned out...especially with the contrasting stitching}

Kindness Matters
{I'll always be a fan of the banners....and kindness always matters}

Merry & Bright
{filled with texture..really lovin' any fabulous wood elements}

So Very Thankful
{glass glitter and wood veneer...perfect match}

the best day ever
{made especially for a boss that I love working for...and the grid panel is upcycled Ready Set Go packaging}

you are sweet
{Made especially for Sweet Addison}

Eat & Drink
{There's that green all the panels}

So which is your FAV?

Leave me a comment about which is your fav and why.  I'll pick a winning comment and post it next Saturday!  The lucky duck will get a little prize pack from my stash!

Eat & Drink

I'm super pleased with all the panels and that embossing makes me happy.  It's a fun 4.25 x 4.25, so it is definitely packed with BAM!  This is going to a fab friend of mine that I've known for like ever...she has a december birthday and we're getting together next weekend.

Your turn...

Ready, Set, Go!
